Kim - You can still have roses and wail with friends and relatives if he's cremated. Not that you'll be around then. My Mom never specified a preference so my dad had her buried the conventional way. Now he's saying he wants to be cremated. So I guess my family will stick his ashes next to my mom.

Good luck on the job! I hear you on the winter driving. It's especially hazardous when you live in teh mountains. I'm just in the foothills and it's too damn*d trecherous when there's ice.

You guys make me feel down right ashamed. It was 40 degrees outside and you'd have thought the Ice age had occured. That's COLD here in Texas!

I'm pretty sure...had the Mayflower landed in Florida....Massachussetts and all those states would just be a barren wasteland. *grin*

My mom...probably when I turned 16....told me that she wants to buried in her jeans and tennis shoes...and a nice shirt. And to make sure she's wearing her glasses so she can see when she gets there. It's a sad thought...but with the recent stuff in Florida....it's amazing how it drives home the fact that you'd better tell people what you want...maybe even right it down and get it notarized....cause when you don't have the ability to have any input...you have no control.

Hahaha Dee!!! My washer and dryer are in the garage, and I have to wait until NOON to do any laundry so that the pipes can defrost. I hate being cold, and this is plenty cold enough!

My mommy wanted to be cremated. She also wanted me to buy a new dress and go out and party. I did both. Had a hard time with the partying part since I was sad, but I did it anyway.

Kim, did you leave the door open... it's so coooollllldddd here.. 12 degrees right now at 2:15... yuk..

The fan went out on our furnace... thank goodness we have a wood stove in the family room... it's about 56 in the rest of the house.. the electrician/plumber promises a new fan before dark... sure hope so... it is cold in this durned old house.

My dad was cremated. As for me, when I die I think I want to stay as far away from flames as possible....just a thought! LOL

katie... being from IRISH ancestry.. my dad always told us we were suppose to have a party when someone died...
we dont go THAT far.. but we DO try to remember things that made us laugh while they WERE alive...

bert... i mean to TELL ya! old houses ARE cold! we lived in an oldie (but not a goodie) before THIS place... it was so old they had the ELECTRIC METER in the HOUSE .. (they added on later and never moved it from the kitchen! ick..

hmmmmm i think buried... but to be honest.. it costs so blippin much.. i am probably leaning toward the cremation... it cost over a grand for each of my parents and all they got was a lousy ugly container like a tin from christmas popcorn or something..

my little sister has BOTH of their ashes... and neither of them have a grave ...
my dad does have the service (army) headstone plaque thingy... and i have it at the corner of my house (a little nod to dad for being the cornerstone of our home here... because they gave us the property..

rob... mom never said.. i dont think.. i dunno... i blocked alot of that out..(oh hash up! keep your shocked expressions to yourselves.. like you didnt KNOW i do that! *L*)

where was i? oh.. anywho.. so i told little sister that she could have the ash.. she said she wanted it... she worried i might change my mind..(not likely in THIS life!) and i just said... uh.. if i do change my mind... you can just ship their ash back here!

then we both laughed...

ya gotta have a sense of humour about these things..or you would NEVER stop crying...



lets see.. green tea.. CHECK.. meat balls (no filler.. just ground beef and seasonings.. check... water..uh.. some... devilbrew... uh.. yeah... some of that too..

okay.. after walking around with the kiddo...
then taking him sliding on the snowboard (him sitting on it.. me pulling it .. (read:trudging with it uphill)
i came in from the SIX DEGREE freezing TEMPERATURE to warm up..

had some green beans..
had some MAGS cereal (the best thing about this LCing BAR NONE!
had a piece of cheddar cheese...

more tea.. more devilbrew (thanks for that term btw!) no water...

so now i am just sitting here enjoying the MUCHO FASTER internet connection that moon just got from our direcway ... its over 100K now as opposed to 500k that it was ....

now .. i have NO clue what that means... but i like FAST..
welllll... in MOST things anyway...*grin*


got an email (was sent the end of NOVEMBER) from the REPORTER for the local spokane channel i had met a while back..
wasnt THAT just the nicest thing?..(my kind naiive heart says.. as opposed to the cynical wench that says.. yeah,.. hes just wanting the scoop if anything should happen ...)

anyway .. i also got an email from a basketball bud that i havent kept in contact much for a long long time... havent visited the board that we both were on in AGES.. it changed so much.. got so ...um... *searching for a word*... cranky... for lack of a better term..

i figured i had enough grief in my life that i didnt need to go in search for it *L*

anywho.. was nice.. i love the friends that i have met on the internet.. some of them i think fondly of to this day.. whether i hear from them or not...(one board when bellyup with no notice... which is why i try to get email addys instead of relying on a board )

oh.. so thats my day in a nutshell.. and the baby just woke up..

i made the pumpkin thang... i added GRAND MARNIER.. i know the error of my ways now... i realized that i put in about a half an oz.. which from the size of the squares i cut it into comes to less than 1carb per square for the grand marnier count... (made 8) it wasnt all that bad..

it was robs fault..
