Default MissScruffy's Quest~knOWLedge is power

Gosh, a journal! Now I am drawing a blank as to what to write here! I am sure I will get past the shy stage and fast! I am sitting here, enjoying a low carb brownie and feeling somewhat guilty! Well, not entirely! It is awefully good! Tomorrow I get dental surgery and so will not be able to eat much that isn't the consistancy of baby food! I so dread the procedure, but am ready to face it. I even stocked up on splenda sweetened pudding, jello, and low carb yogurt as well as cauliflower so the guys can make me mashed cauliflower which has become a favorite of mine! Hopefully, my husband will find me some real beef broth on his way home from work tomorrow! There is a natural food store in Franklin that I just love! So, I should be set for foods...foods I never thought I would eat! Me and jello? So, the carb increase terrifies me, but I am sure the pain will force that out of my mind and fast! The key is to not starve and my guys aren't cooks so getting the mashed cauliflower...well I'll be lucky! Wow...what a wonderful first journal entry...dental surgery! That should have folks holding their mouths in sympathy pain!

Anyhow, I am really thrilled to be hear and face the next stage of my journey to a healthy me!

Yikes! Dental surgery? Actually I can't say anything bad about it. My dental surgery a number of years ago to remove my impacted wisdom teeth was AWESOME. Great drugs, good rest.... *sigh* I know that sounds weird.

Good luck tomorrow!!! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the sympathy pain folks! But, it went better than I thought! Turns out I have enough healthy teeth still in place so the dentist is going to cap them next week! I am so thrilled because I thought for sure those three teeth were goners!

Bet you do, this is a great place to feel comfortable and let it all hang out.

Great news about the teeth. I cry every time I go to the dentist/orthodontist/oral surgeon/maxilofacial specialty surgeon...been to them all.

Same here! The poor man kept wiping my tears for me! I wore braces for 5 years and have all kinds of stuff done! Nothing like my poor husband! When he was a teen he had his gums cut off cuz of piareah (know I didn't spell that one right).

Ouch, I hear that is very painful! I had surgery to break and reallign my jaw when I was 16. NO FUN!!! Of course the 8 weeks it was wired I lost a lot of weight but then gained it right back. I only had braces for 3 1/2 years though throughout high school until right at the end.

I hope the caps don't bother you too badly in the beginning, I've never had one so I don't know about those.

Hadn't been around much except to check on a couple of the word games! They are too fun! It is time for me to get off my duff and get out into the world and find a new career path to follow! I do miss earning a paycheck and soon our bank account will reflect it! We can make it on what my husband makes, but honestly, it's not the same as making my own money to help out and pay for the extras! Plus, I gained back 5 pounds in the three weeks I have been home and although I think a few have fallen off, I need to get back out and get more serious about finding my carb limit so I can get the last ten pounds off and go into maintenance. I guess officially I am in pre-maintenance and although I didn't follow OWL as I should, I will be sitting down later and setting menu's for me to follow so I can get to where I need to be! Obviously, I am eating too many carbs right now...I have been eating low carb stuff, but I think too much of the low carb junk! So, I am cleaning out the kitchen of no no stuff and buckling down! Placing it here in public means I will stick to the plan! And, my goodness, I have my sleep completely turned around and just hate that! So, wish me luck on getting through the next 24 hours so I can get back on track!

Ok, I went to the dentist and had one tooth taken care of and two to go! Then went to buy some coconut oil and kelp to see if they will regulate my thyroid! I will begin on the kelp tomorrow and the co the next day! I have also gotten my carbs down to just under 35 a day, which I think will be fine for now! Hopefully, I'll get back to losing weight...if not then I'll drop another 5 carbs!

Gosh, I cannot believe I went this long and didn't come by here! I have decided to clean out the clutter from my house and make better use of our space! Well, my space is a disaster! Gosh, I can hardly wait to get done! I just about have that five I gained when I quit my job, thank goodness! I have also gotten my carbs back down to around 25 and will leave them there for a short time!
