| Again, don't quote me... But if I remember right (I think Krystyne <hockeygirl> posted about this), the added sodium makes you crave more of that type of water :eyes: I remember this because at the time I had a case of dasani in the car, and raced out to check the ingredients...couldn't believe it

Friday, August 12, 2005 I think the water discussion was an important one. When I drink Dasani, I drink more water. It never occurred to me that there was sodium in the water. Also, this could explain why the scale hasnt been moving despite eating on plan and getting extra exercise. Then again, I'm down to the last thirty pounds and everyone says the last thirty are the hardest. So, thank you all for helping me solve that mystery. I went home to check the sodium content on the gallon bottles in my fridge. I used to drink only distilled water and come to think of it, I was losing more. I visited the www.zephyrhillswater.com site but I couldnt find a list of ingredients. The bottle I'm holding doesnt say "no sodium." The best info I found so far is at http://www.nestle-watersna.com/faq/c...es.asp?id=6#21 Apparently Nestle controls a healthy chunk of the world's bottled water supply and "the FDA considers any water containing less than 5 mg. of sodium per 8 oz. serving to be sodium-free." Eventually, Im going to end up calling someone's 800 number to find out what the sodium content is... Please share any comments on distilled water. I don't want to start drinking it if it isnt good for me. Working out makes me very tired and I found it hard to get out of bed this morning. My left shoulder feels achy which means there will be lots of rain this weekend. I got a letter in the mail from another potential employee. In a nutshell it said, "Contact us after you have passed the Bar." And so I wait. I watched Gilad's Total Body Sculpt workout last night at 7pm. I think this will be my new evening workout. I just have to find my weights. They are in a corner somewhere. He does cardio and weights and he looks healthy and toned. Inspiring! I finally found a way to create an Index for the binders I've been creating. I will spend the rest of my time here working on that. be back later...

| Gee Gee - Thought I'd take a cruise through your Journal this morning. What a delight it is. Thanks. Oh and here's something I came across about Dasani water which I also used to buy. "*July 6, 2003: Dasani? Purified Water, Enhanced with Minerals for a Pure, Fresh Taste. This is a product of the Coca-Cola? Company. They also state that it is filtered for purity using state of the art treatment by reverse osmosis, and enhanced with minerals for a pure, fresh taste. Dasini is water-pure and essential. Ingredients: Purified Water, Magnesium Sulfate, Potassium Chloride, Salt*. *Adds a negligible amount of sodium. Test Result: Using Vaxa's test kit, this water did not test well. After proper testing, the water showed a pH of 5.2-5.3. This is clearly acidic. They also add chloride to the water which is a clear toxin. I would not recommend this water to drink." Frightening what you can learn from googling. I use a PUR faucet filter which really makes water taste better (if your water isn't so tasty like mine). And it only costs about $15 for a filter replacement which lasts 2 months. I Get the Ultra filter not the regular cheaper one.

I have at least 15 gallon bottles of bottled water at home. Thanks goodness, they dont have sodium in them. I will look into the PUR system while I finish up those bottles. I still couldnt find anything concrete on Zephrhills. Is sodium content like carb content where those .5s masquerading as 0s really add up???? I need to lose about 30lbs to reach my goal weight. If I lose another 13, that would be 100lbs off. I've kicked up my workouts a notch and I'm hoping that resolving the salt in my water issue...may kick my body into fat burning mode. I've been in OWL for a bit...should I consider going back to Induction until I reach my goal? I could just be in a stall. I'm not losing inches or pounds. I'm not gaining inches or pounds. April warned me that this might happen when I started sucking down caffeine pills (1 a day) to study for the Bar Exam. I stopped taking them July 23 so its been a while. My diet has been clean, I'm moving more...and my water intake is more than appropriate. I did notice that my neck/waddle shrank (ok, okay, it was the beginning of a second chin...). Very nice. Rings are starting to fit again. Very encouraging. So maybe my body is reshaping itself and adjusting???

We also use a water filter on our tap. It's from NSA and uses a carbon filtering system. The water is great, we have a lot of chlorine which makes for nasty cooking and drinking. It's under the sink and is good for something like 10,000 gallons. Also makes wonderful coffee and teas.

http://www.waterfilterstore.net/index.asp has a lot of nice filters, including our NSA under the counter model. The unit is not big at all, just think 3L soda bottle but shorter.

Kumus and what about installation? They do that as well?

DH installed ours, I don't think that particular website offers installation. Honestly, I don't think it's extremely complicated to set up. With the cost of bottled water, you can pay for one and the installation, if need be, rather quickly.

I'm in Aus GeeGee - so it will be a different brand. All brands except one here have sodium (well - all that I've checked in several supermarkets anyway) The only thing I can offer with regards to distilled water (which is possibly not the same as filtered water? I've also had the filter installed in one of my earlier houses) is that my DS was born in the Philippines. The water supply was not good and lots of expats were subject to very severe stomach problems due to that. So we took to drinking water that came from the aircons (sounds dreadful - but it actually was distilled water) The issue that arose in later years after we all got back to our respective countries was that children born there and drinking that distilled water all missed out on essential minerals from fresh water with consequent teeth problems. In fact, when EDH visited DS recently and we were drinking bottled water he said 'I hope that's not distilled water - I'm not paying for another round of 'teeth fixing!' We did point out it was only sodium free - and also - in any case - that at 35 - we would hardly expect DS's next set of teeth to be adversely affected by that issue!

BeachFox--I never even considered the effect of distilled water on teeth. Kumus--I'm going to look into the system you suggested. ***************** I was supposed to come home and take a nap. I did not. I was supposed to find my hand weights so that I could work out with Gilad. I found the weights, they were in the trunk of the car. I did not work out with Gilad or anyone else including myself. I was supposed to listen to my Tony Robbins CDs because well, I need motivation. I did not. I was supposed to cook ackee for my sister. I did that. In fact, I did an excellent job and I ate a negligible amount. Just enough to decide I wasnt feeding her swill. She likes my ackee and I like my sister so it worked out perfectly. I did get a job interview. I am excited. Very very excited. Next Thursday. I should be doing more with myself. Precious minutes of my life are drifting away and I have no idea where they are going. I am making progress. My sister mentioned today that my leg muscles are very defined. Just earlier today I was in this very journal whining about my lack of progress. I was looking in the wrong place. Taking the stairs and the increased use of the treadmill has actually helped to improve my body in some positive way. I am about to chant. I like chanting. Visualization is harder for me. At night, I tend to fall asleep in the middle hahahahahahah. I will be weighing/measuring myself in the morning. I will work out in the morning. I will continue to make excellent food choices.

GG, do you live in a townhouse, home, condo? I would actually like to have the whole house unit. My friend has one and she will never be without another. The benefit with WH is no tight skin, better for hair especially if it's chemically processed. She says that clothing doesn't fade, pill and all of that since all the crappy chemicals jave been taken out of the water. The reason we don't have WH, we have a pool and would have to disengage the filter when filling, etc.
