| Hello Heather, I am new to the boards and started a journal too today. Not new to lowcarbing been at it since 2001. Lost over 100 lbs in less than a year and I have been playing around since. No more its time to get where I wanna go. Life and living stopped me on meeting my goal I am now on fire again and will make it this time. You are doing awesome!!!!!! People like you give me that extra push I need. I did not want to read and lurk, so with this I will end . Connie |

I'm down 16.2 lbs, but I'm not happy! I'm ready to be done RE-losing.argh. I'm just being gripy. I've done a great job. I'm proud of me, and I'm continuing to do great! period!! in 8.8 more, I'll be done re-losing and can be losing new lbs. that's something to look forward to! hhmmm....wonder if I can do that by New Years...it's a thought!

| the end of day 57. Did 30 mins on the treadmill, had a pumpkin thingy for dinner. I think I figured it at about 45 carbs today. that's decent. Going to try hard not to weigh in the morning...we'll see how that goes...

| LOL, Heather.....trying not to weigh is hard, isn't it! I have 16 more pounds to re-lose before I can start counting. I got down to 202 back in 2000, before the accident and all the therapy (chiropractor). I just let the pounds start creeping back on. I remember weighing at one of my appointments and it showed 212. Of course it was late afternoon and I had on shoes......but at that point, I could've regained control and didn't. Now, I still have to go from 218 (today) to 202 before the real losses start. You're not alone! Hang in there, Heather. You'll make your goal and keep it off this time.

| Hey Max and Vickie, thanks for the shout outs! Day 58, doing pretty good, I think. If I treadmill tonight and Thursday, that's 3 for the week and the rest is gravy! I should be able to do it Friday night, Saturday during Theo's nap, and Sunday night. That would be HUGE!!! So not going to promise, but going to try...

| oh Heather, I couldn't do the up in the night thing. He was 19 months when I got him. He slept fine the first month or two, then he has some bouts with allergies and was sick off and on for a month, and in that time got use to me holding him. He was also having night terrors and would thrash around, hit me, yell, etc, while completely asleep. It was horrible. That went on for a month or so, and I almost literally had a nervous breakdown. Once we got him well, though, and he began to really trust me, he would go to sleep and stay that way all night. He still wakes up on occasion, but I let him cry for 5 minutes before I go in there. 9 times out of 10 he's asleep before the 5 minutes are up. If not, I go in, pat his back for a couple of minutes, tell him it is still night time and he needs to sleep. and I leave again. This time for 10 minutes. He has never cried longer. He is 2 1/2.

| I live in an apartment building and I'm afraid that I'm going to get kicked out if I let him scream to long. I think that we're just going to have to do it until we are talked to. They won't kick us out until 2nd or 3rd warning I'm sure - lol. |

| Its really hard for the first couple nights. And actually Theo did REALLY well. He needed the boundaries. we have a very strict routine every night too. that really helps. bath, pjs, books, rock, bed. I only rock for a minute or two, and I tell him when I'm reading the last book. This is the last book, we are going to bed after this one. so there are no questions. and I NEVER change my mind. If he pitches a fit, there will be no rocking if you can't sit nicely. He's only gone to bed once without the rocking. I wish you the very best luck! you can look it up on the web for more info, too. it is called the Ferber method, and some people agree, some don't. What I like is that you never leave them indefinitely. The longest they are left alone is 15 mins. it goes 5 mins, 2 min pat, 10 mins, 2 min pat, 15 mins, 2 min pat, and if they still aren't asleep, just increments of 15. You just have to wear him out before he wears you out! But really most of the time I think they get it, and just go on to sleep.

| I hope it works out for you. Austin was sleeping in his own room and through the night at about 10 months. By the time he was 2, he was going to bed as soon as we got home from work/daycare and still sleeping through the night. Our house caught fire last year when he was almost 3 1/2. We had to live with relatives for awhile, and then in a hotel for several months and he had to sleep with us. We got back in the house, and he was so used to sleeping with us, plus he convinced me that he was still scared and almost a year after the fire, he was STILL sleeping with us (over 4 years old by then)... I finally put him in his own room and had a heck of a time getting him there. Its been months since I put him out of his bed, and I still have to fight to get him to sleep in his own bed. He'll sleep in the closet, on the couch, on the floor, UNDER his bed... almost anyplace except his bed. The letting him cry it out to a small extent works really well. You go in often enough that they believe that if there is a REAL problem, Mama or Daddy will come... but not often enough that its a fun new game.
