Default Page Two

He slept through the night so we didn't get to test it in the middle of the night but did test it when we took him to bed. We did 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and then he flipped himself over the gate that blocks his door a couple of times , then another 15 minutes after we put a gate on top of the gate before he gave up and fell asleep. I think all the screaming wore him out for middle of the night wake up. We both decided to block his room and do this method and so far so good. Tonight we'll try it again! I bet after a few nights of this he'll stop.

Yes, it may take a few nights. I didn't realize he's in a big bed. Theo is still in a crib. I was going to move him to the big bed, but since he's probably moving to a new home soon, I thought it better not to have him make this change and then a big change right away.
at least you got to sleep all night! woohoo!

12/7/05-163.2!! I'm down .6 since Sunday, that's .6 in 4 days. I should be thrilled. I'm looking for more! I wanted 162. I think I might have to go to once a week weighing. I can't imagine that! But I might.

oh yeah, and I treadmilled last night for 25 minutes. I was tired and feeling icky, so I stopped before I lost balance and fell, getting sucked up in the belt and going round and round...

Heather, I'm sorry I laughed at your *possible* dilemma from falling on the treadmill. The mental visual was just hilarious! Reminded me of George Jetson and the dog....

Anyway, I can't contribute much to the kids and sleeping issue....DD was the BEST baby. I think I only had 2 or 3 "bad" nights with her. At the time, I was living with my parents and my Mom would help me when she was fussy. She was NEVER sick until she turned 1, then she got her first ear infection.

From 1-4, she slept in her own crib/bed okay for the most part.

But when we moved into this house when she was 5, we had some trouble. Our room is way across the house from her room and she WOULD NOT sleep in her room. For the first few months, she slept on the couch. She wanted to sleep with us, in our room, by our door....you know the "anywhere but my bed" thing. So, we said she did not have to sleep in HER bed, she just couldn't sleep in ours.

Gradually, after I pooh-poohed those silly rumors about the "Boogie Man" and we put extra locks on her window (which I made DH remove when she forgot about it), she decided to "try" sleeping in her room. I guess she just got more mature. (Or tired of the couch.)

Just remember....you only have to be strong for 1 minute longer than they are. They NEED and WANT boundaries. I believe that.

I meant for it to be funny! I needed a laugh myself at that point!

Agreed about the boundaries.

Had a pretty tough day foodwise. I didn't cheat, but I sure wanted to. and I just wasn't really satisfied with anything I ate. Tomorrow I'm sick from work, so I'll make some things, quiche, tuna, etc so that they are ready to go. It's just too hard to do it on the fly.

Well, not sick from work, Theo meetings cancelled because of weather. Went ahead and came in because sick would not have been believable with the delayed opening and weather situation.
Had pnt butter on 7 carb bread for bfast
will have ham/cheese melt on same bread+salad for lunch
maybe pumpkin thing for dinner.

tonight I'll have to make the quiche and tuna so I have something to eat this weekend. I think I'm going to not eat the bread so much, seems like a lot of carbs for one thing.

*copied from other thread*
Today is day 61, and I almost blew it! and I didn't even mean to! A friend of mine brought beef stew for lunch. She had some left, offered me a bite. I tried it, it was really good. I was talking to the others in our breakroom, listening to them, taking another bite, and then another. Before I realized what I was doing, I had eated 3 or 4 bites of stew meat, 3 baby carrots, and two bites of potato, along with the gravy!!! I ran to fitday! I sit right now at 45 carbs, and I figured everything a little high. I'm not eating any dinner and going to do the treadmill if I'm dying. And I think the day is salvaged.
**
I did get the tuna and the quiche made last night, along with some laundry and dishes! Very productive evening, except by the time I was done with all that I was too tired to treadmill. Have to do it tonight.
I have a whole other loaf of that SF bread, I think I'll send it home with my mom. It's too many carbs per slice to just have on hand.

I didn't do treadmill, not feeling well. But no dinner either! I think, well, I know...I accidentally made caffinated green tea, so that's probably why I am now...SHOPPING IN THE CLOSET!!! I have found 3 pair of pants and some skirts that NOW FIT! woohoo!!! Still working on the khaki and off white pairs of pants...

Heather - Just stopped in to say hello! Skipping a day of exercise is no big deal. I plan one day off exercise a week as a matter of course.

Hey Rob!
Today, day 62. I'm doing ok, going out with friends tonight, planning to drink, but not to eat, I'llfill up before I leave the house with LC goods. I have had 20 carbs so far, and plan to have about 15 more. Then rum and diet coke to drink. And taking cabs because I KNOW I'm going to be feeling it!

Day 63...12/11/05.
I had a really good time last night, we were up until 5am. So now I'm dead tired, but stayed on track! Very proud of myself. I did have 4 rum/diet cokes, so I'm sure I didn't lose, but I didn't carb out.
AND I'm not weighing until Wednesday, so I'm hoping to get to 161, or even 160! I have quiche made, and tuna, so the week should be easy.

64.
It would be a lot easier if people didn't insistupon bringing crap to work! argh. avoiding the kitchen like the plague. Work is boring, and I have stuff to do! Wish I was at home. Or hitting some stores. I'm almost done with the shopping. I need to go through what I have, and see where I am. I need to pick up a few more things for sure, but I need to evaluate.
24 oz green tea down, 2.5 bottles water to go...
Going to look for a snack...

Thanks Vickie!
Today has been pretty easy foodwise. I had breakfast planned and grabbed a 1/2 tuna sandwich on my way to Toys R Us for lunch. been snacking a little on nuts, but I brought them in a little baggie so I would not eat too many out of the can.
Day 65! Need to get busy on the water...and WORKING OUT tonight. Haven't so far this week! (I know it's only Tuesday, but I gotta get on it!)
