My food cravings are gradually getting less intense with time. I am getting a few headaches hear and there, maybe due to caffiene withdrawal (tappered down coffee from several cups a day to one cup a day in 4 days), but thats okay, I can handle it. I am liking green tea better :jumpgreen

Dinner: Steamed chicken
Green tea: 3 cups
Regular tea: 1 cup
Water: 8 glasses
I think I'll go out for a walk soon or get on the treadmill.

Snack: scramled egg and chesse
water: 4cups(I'll have to catch up)

They had brought in 2 huge boxes of baggles at work and and lunch time there were subs for the staff. I succeded in keeping away from all of that, and also kept away from the coffee pot at work. I am so proud of myself.:great:

You're doing great. Especially with all the temptation in your workplace!

It would be so much easier if we could just eat our own stuff without all these tempting things all over the place, wouldn't it? Same here...another woman who does sort of a modified lc thing here at work keeps making all these goodies and bringing them in! The other coworkers eat them. The woman isn't doing all that well with her weight loss. Hmmm....wonder why? She says she doesn't eat it, but she actually does pick at all of it. I usually go in and give it a good sniff and that gets me by. Weird I know, but whatever works, right? LOL

Thanks crystalrp and Maxibee for understanding what I go through at work. The coffee pot with Starbucks coffee keeps calling my name and on the other side we keep getting all this free food. What I dont understand is, how my other co-workers remain so thin while consuming all this food, while I gain weight by even smelling the stuff. However, I know some people at work who go to workout at Gym everyday. I cant do that due to all the school work I have to do beside my job work. I do need to try and do some aerobics on a regular basis.

The day so far has been going good.
Brekfast: 2 eggs
lunch: chicken caesar salad
Snack: boiled egg
water: 3 cups (opps)
coffee: 1 cup regular
I havent decided about the dinner yet. Tomorrow is the weigh in day so I better be careful about what I consume tonight :fork:

I remember throwing away the remnants of DD's piece of cheesecake a couple of weeks ago.....I wanted to finish it off for her so bad. But I didn't. I "pulled a Crystal" and gave it a good sniff......then pitched it in the garbage! I don't remember, but I think I was up a pound the next day from the nose full of carb air I inhaled.

MAYBE THAT'S IT!! I WORK IN THE VENDING INDUSTRY......I AM GETTING CARBS EVERY DAY BY OSMOSIS!! Thank you, Ambition....for helping me figure it out! LOL!

There is a paragraph in a book I have by Dr.Phil about just this: can you get fat just by LOOKING at fattening food. If I find it, I'll post it here. I may need to get a new job!

Maxibee, I am so impressed that you agree with my theory about gaining weight by smelling carbs. Your idea about osmosis gives it a more scientific approach. I would say lets add the concepts of gaining weight by conduction, convection and radiation to it (all the modes heat is transferred through) and I can do my graduate research on this topic. My hypothesis will be that "people who are watching their carb intake can still gain weight by smelling carbs, looking at carbs or even being in an environment full of carbs" (ha, ha). The scientific world may not understand it but you and I are living proofs of it. My research may not get published but we can always post it on this site.

I couldn?t find the time to do an entry in my journal yesterday; however the day went well overall. I am happy to report a loss of 4 lbs at the end of my first week back on track . I was planning to loose 1.5 lb per week till the New Year. This loss of 4 lbs is equivalent to my goal for two and a half weeks. The idea is to maintain the loss for this duration and if some more loss occurs in the process, that?s an added bonus. Sounds a little complicated but last time I was doing LC this is what my problem was. If I would loose 2 lbs a week, I would expect the same loss for the next week and if that would not happen than I would get all upset and would not concentrate on maintaining the loss, thinking that I am a failure. This time, I have to keep in mind that the body takes time to adjust to the loss and if I can maintain the loss it is an accomplishment in itself.

So, after watching just my carb intake for the first week, without incorporating any form of exercise to it, I have decided today to add half an hour of brisk walk per day to the plan. I know that it is said that if you add exercise to watching your diet, you can speed up the weight loss process. However, I have noticed that whenever I start exercising, my weight loss hits a little plateau although I consume the same LC food intake. I know it doesn?t make much sense . Maybe here is another topic for research . Since I have exceeded my goal for this week, I think I can afford to hit a little plateau.

So I started this morning by waking up early and using the treadmill for half an hour while my daughter was still asleep. Working out maybe tough to start but once you are done it gives a good feeling (link to endorphins release) and a sense of accomplishment.

So, here I go with the second week...

(P.S. Maxibee, I am really interested in that chapter from Dr, Phil?s book. Share it with me if you can find it ? after all I will need some references for my research project).

Hey, Ambition.....I'll keep looking for it. I know we had a good laugh about it in my book club.
Sounds like you are doing well. Friday night was a blow-out for me. I was aggravated about not losing and was having a little emotional freak-out. I've been on track over the weekend, and like you....plan on taking a walk this evening.

Keep up the good work. I'll check back later.

Yesterday went well. I nibbled at some illegal carbs and was afraid about the results but the scale this morning didn?t seem to notice that . The good part is that I started my half an hour on treadmill plan yesterday and was active for most of the day.
So yesterday
BF: 2 eggs and strong tea
Snack: nuts and green tea
Lunch: spicy beef stew
sack: grapes (oops)
dinner: chicken
water: 8 glasses
green tea: 2 cups
exercise: half an hour treadmill

I woke up early this morning and got back up on the treadmill for half an hour.
BF: veggie omelet with cheese + one cup green tea
I haven?t packed my lunch today so need to be really careful about what I eat from outside. I'll update later

great job! your menus look great - and i would not worry about a few grapes ... you could have done a lot worse!

so glad you're enjoying the exercise. i bet if you stick w/ it, you'll see much faster results. you may plateau when you first start exercising for any number of reasons ... your body gaining muscle or maybe the body thinking it needs to "hold on" to extra fat since it's working harder (via exercise). but in the long run, you'll see positive results! good luck!

Okay, I don?t know what to think about the lunch today. I had roast beef and a small bowl of broccoli and cheese soup. I don?t know if the soup was the right thing to do. I thought broccoli is good and cheese is good but had no idea about the carb contents of it. Does any body have any idea if cream based soups are good or bad like cream of mushroom or cream of chicken???

Wow, you hit the nail on the head. Sometimes it takes someone else to put into words what you have been thinking before you even realize it.

Hmmm, cream based soups can be on the high side. I have looked at many of them in the stores trying to find one that I could use but have not so I don't know if that is such a good idea unless you made it yourself of course.

Hi Noel, thanks for visiting my journal. I am glad that you could relate to my thoughts. Thanks also for warning me against the cream based soups. I had a feeling they were trouble since after having those soups I did feel the drag and down that I usually feel after eating carb loaded stuff. I looked up the recipe section at this site and found some good soup recipes, :great: maybe I'll try them sometime when school load is low.
