Default Bert's journal

I've been around a long time... just hangin' out. Reading the good advice. Today I decided I would start journaling.. We'll see how that goes.

I've been doing low carb about 3 years, well really not that long because I tripped and fell last winter and haven't got back up or dusted myself off. I get back up and dust myself off, but I keep falling down. Trying again to get motivated. I lost about 25 lbs originally, only needed to lose about another 10. Now, I need to lose about 15 or 20.. must be all that dust clinging to my butt.

Just trying to work on being more healthy..

Come on by & say hi!!

Hey! G'day Bert - so pleased to see you got a journal up! Great! Journals are such fun - a bit like having a perpetual round of friends drop in!

Good morning! Good luck on your journey. Tripping and falling is part of life's roller coaster. Just don't give up. You don't fail until you stop trying.

Thanks to all for coming by and welcoming me. I really have been creeping around reading and posting occasionally, so I feel that I know many of you, tho you might not know me.

Did fairly well today. We've been so busy having the house painted. Which I always have to be involved in... just couldn't leave a paint brush alone and have painted a bunch of windows... Had no idea this house had so many windows. Today I QUIT, let those kids of 27 years have the painting all to themselves.

Getting ready for a yard sale this weekend. Maybe next week will return more to normal ?????? what is normal.??? At least back to working out and eating on plan.

Need to think of getting some green tea again.. seems like from what I read it has lots of benefits.

Looking forward this weekend to a local "Germanfest". A German band, polka dancers, sausages, beer... woe is me, best watch out I hear bad foods or drinks calling my name.

Hi, Junie, I'm hoping that journaling will get me back on track and keep me there. Of course, it's my own choice, but support always helps.

We always have stuff, people move out of our rentals and leave & leave & leave stuff.
They leave everything from appliances to chilren's toys and clothes.. unbelievable

G'day Bert. Your description of the yard sale reminds me that I'm going to need to sort 'stuff' too. I took a mass of old clothes to the charity bins this week. I always get nervous as I shoot them down into the bin - wondering whether I've left any valuables (and/or incriminates!) in the pockets!

Yard sale is over. It rained yesterday and that took care of that day's sales.

I've been off track as far as eating is concerned for a long time. Weight hasn't varied much, but the inches seem to have piled on, or maybe that's lack of consistent exercise. I keep thinking I don't have time to exercise every day... guess at 66, I had better start being consistent.

I did much better eating today. I do need to start fit day..but,.... well I can always think of an excuse.. LOL

The weather was beautiful today.. sat on the lawn all afternoon reading hoping someone would come by and clear out the treasures ..but, alas, we had leftovers to carry in.

Tomorrow it is up and at them... to the fitness center before I start some project and it doesn't happen.

It was up & at 'em... but didn't get to the fitness center. Too busy on the ladder helping getting this house painted. My little painter I hired is just soooooooo slow.

Off to the movies with a friend tonight.

Tomorrow.... this should be interesting... changing the hair color.. putting carmel highlights in this dark ??? hair. Well, it's still dark, but has silver threads.... and I need something diffrent.. :gorgeous:

Got to get past this boredness... now there's a new word. Did some shopping last week and bought some great things, but shopping isn't the best thing to do when you are bored, anymore than eating is the best thing to do.

I'm thinking of taking up golf,... must remember to check out the golf lessons tomorrow. I can be a swinger one way or another

...HIE-Larious!! Definitely agree with you on exchanging one obsession for another...shopping!! Find that I divert bored eating with bored shopping too. Need to take up a hobby...just find that I don't have much of an attention span...huh?...what were we talking about??

Good luck on the highlights...sounds like a fabulous choice!
