I have been doing good during the week then blow it on the weekend or sometimes just Sunday I can only imagine what I could have lost this last month. I was doing fine till I ate off plan a couple times then the cravings started up and I cant seem to make it through a day without a cheat if I could get through clean induction again Im sure Id be ok. Well and with 7 kids I have candy laying everywhere Im going to have to bag it up and have them hide it from me. I gave half of it away but I just dont have the willpower to resist through the whole day I do ok part of it or even a day then I think im setting my self up for failure. I want it really bad so I guess I just need to do it and quit playing this game as I loose 3 lbs a week and gain it all back by Monday for the last month. I have lost 40lbs so far in 6 months but am mad at myself as If I did it right like I had been Id be a lot farther than I am. Thanks for listening. Debra

Debra, Sit your kids down and give them one hour to eat all the candy they want. Then, throw the rest away, have them brush their teeth and be done with it. Candy not good for them or for you.

| LOL! I love that idea! I actually took Dana Carpender's (low carb cookbook author) advice and told my kid that it was my money, and I wasn't buying junk food with it. That since it has no nutrients, it wasn't really food, and that I don't have money to waste on non-food. I did let the little guy keep his trick or treat candy, but I put it in a big zip-lock bag and put it somewhere where it is hard for me to reach and it's out of site so that I won't think about it. I also make him brush his teeth before hugging and/or kissing me so that I don't have to smell candy breath

Falling off the plan is par for the course. Getting back on is the important part. It takes a long time to really groove your low-carb lifestyle. Just keep on keeping on. Don't kick yourself with "woulda-shoulda-coulda." You've lost 40 lbs, for heaven's sake! You know you can do it. And you have the rest of your life to keep trying. Perhaps a low-carb plan that features a "reward meal" would work better for you, to help with the weekend binge thing. The feeling of constant deprivation is no fun--and not sustainable. Sustainability is the key. Why not look into a plan that meets your needs a little more comfortably? I think Carb Addicts is one of those. I'll try to remember to look at my Laura Richard book "The Secret to Low-Carb Success" to see the comparison chart.

Hi Debra, I know just how you feel. I do the exact same thing! What's working for me now is to plan my meals and look for new, simple meat/veggie combinations to prevent boredom with LCE. I have to congratulate you for losing 40 lbs, that's a goal I can't wait to reach!
