Good going, Nita. I'm trying to think of some way to motivate myself. But, since we moved and I have 11 more employees to deal with every day, I am exhausted when I get home. I used to get up early (earlier) to work out before work.....but THAT didn't last long!

Consistency is the key, and I seem to have lost that key.

Heather, you are just a positive ray of sunshine. Thanks for your enthusiasm, it really is a morale booster.

Maxi, I have a severe motivation problem, not just in exercise, but in a lot of other things as well. I find that if I have an unpleasant task (exercise!), then do it and get it out of the way. That's why I'm trying to do a morning workout, to get it out of the way and not have to deal with it anymore. Besides, I find it easier to cope with the workout when I'm still half asleep. Weird, I know.

We are down to one vehicle, which is ok except on Wednesday when DH goes to work at 7. He's going to have to come back and get me in a few minutes. He goes in early to water the atrium we have in the community room. We have a large number of plants there, and they get watered once a week. There is a rubber tree plant that is huge that's been there for nearly 30 years. It's been trimmed back at least a half dozen times in the past 15 years. We keep toads in there to eat the bugs so that we don't have to use pesticides. They don't usually come out, but once in a while we see them hopping right after the watering, and sometimes we find their poo, which is surprisingly big for such a small critter.

My tape measure shows that I am shrinking, but the scales are just showing a huge jump, up over 4 lbs. So, I am going to ignore the scales. Period. Just not get on them until I can't stand it anymore. I might wait a couple of weeks, maybe an entire month. Just put them in the closet and forget about them, and concentrate on eating right and exercising.

I did another 10 minute workout on the gazelle this morning. It's so nice to be able to just go and get on it and do the workout. I might even try doing a few minutes at lunch, and then do some more after work. (Maybe)

I wrote a story for Jade, and need to do some editing on it, polish it up a bit, and then mail it to her. She loves to go with her mom to check the mail, and is disappointed when she doesn't get any. So, I'm going to send her some! Hmmmm, I need to send her another monkey mail, too. She loves those!

Just finished my lc hot cereal, mixing half of some chocolate (Carb Sense, no longer available) and Maggie's, with a little whey protein powder added, and some coconut oil for some oomph. Tres bon!

Did 10 minutes on the gazelle this morning. I plan to increase to 15 next week. Going slow, and steady, so as not to burn out.

If any of you see a posting by Beamhive, that's my older daughter, Beth. Drop in and say hi to her. She could use your encouragement.

Hi, Vickie!

I started my day with a nice bowl of hot cereal. My cup of decaf is empty.:(

Four days in a row doing the gazelle. That's just not usual for me. Hmmm. Maybe it was the wise thing to move it. Now I have no excuse to get on. Well, I could always come up with an excuse. Ya know, headache, knees aching, etc. But I'm going to make the effort to get on the thing every morning for a minimum of 10 minutes.

My husband's dance teacher had her baby Wednesday night. A nearly 10 lb boy. This girl is a tiny thing, wears like a size 1 dress. Her husband is a big man, was a big baby, so I guess this little one inherited his size from him. Their other 2 boys are little in stature. Their oldest is a girl. Can't wait to see the baby. They're coming home today, I hear.

I've been reading some of Dr. Atkins books. I really miss his writings and insight. He was on the cutting edge of research, and he wrote in a way that the average Joe could understand. I wonder if we'll ever get another Dr. that is as dedicated to our woe, and who will continue in the research and writing. You would think someone he was associated with would continue and keep on writing. Maybe no one is as talented or insightful as was Dr. Atkins. Pity.

Haven't gazelled yet. Slept late, decided to get some coffee into me before I attempt any activity. Should have gotten up when I usually do, but it was so comfy under the covers. Besides, if I'm going to increase my time on the thing, I need to keep it up every day.

DH was doing some yard work yesterday and found a young rattlesnake on our front porch. Yikes! It's the first rattler we've had since we've lived in the house some 25+ years. I hate snakes, any kind. When we first moved here I dreamt of rattlers thick and slithering in the back yard, but never actually saw one in real life, until yesterday. As long as they stay outside. Sure don't want one in the house.

I'm going to try to make better food choices this weekend. And to remember to take my supplements.

Nita, is Carb Sense a protien powder? Or a cereal mix? Just curious....that name seems so familiar to me.

Maxi, they made all kinds of stuff, bake mix, cake mixes (I have a freezer full of carrot cake mix and brownie mix), biscuit mix, pizza crust, pie crust, and some great granola. But they quit making low carb stuff, change their name to Eat Well Be Well, and are making sugar free stuff that is not necessarily low carb. Netrition still has a few items left, but they'll be gone when they sell out. Sad. They were good products.

The cakes, hands down. Oh, they used to have a lemon burst cookie mix that I added extra egg to, baked as a cake, and put a lc lemon topping on it. My son in law loved it! I wish someone else would start making those products. There's a definite need for them.

This morning I got 15 minutes on the gazelle - I've been faithful on it since Tuesday, and have gotten up to 15 minutes on it. If I can just hang in there another 2 weeks or so, it will be a habit!

Yesterday was a snacking day. I had a bunch of bits & bobs of protein powder, so I made up several canisters of different flavors of hot cereal - plain, spice (had some old Keto eggnog flavor I never liked, disguise it with enough cinnamon, and it's great!) and some chocolate, which is half of my last box of Carb Sense chocolate cereal and the basic cereal mix. I had a couple of cups left in the bowl that wouldn't fit in the canister, so I mixed up a OMM, but since it was bigger, it ended up a 2 1/2 min muffin. It cooked beautifully, and I put it on a plate, sliced it up into a bunch of little slices, and we snacked on at least half of it yesterday. That will also probably be breakfast today, too.

I really wanted some bbq yesterday, but neither of us wanted to go out, so I steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, mixed the with some Dreamfields macaroni, and tossed them with Walden Farms Alfredo Sauce, which is 0 carbs. It was quite good. Not bbq, but ok for a substitute. Maybe I'll send DH out for some bbq later this morning......

Nita, it's late so I'll be brief.....I was trying to figure out where I'd seen Carb Sense, so I Googled it. Is the one you are talking about by EAS? There are some products still out there. I could look here for you if I knew specifically which bake mix it was you wanted now.

Also, speaking of Walden Farms.....I bought 2 bottles of their Ranch dressing at Target a couple of months ago for 63 cents each on clearance. I like it. I bought a bottle of their chocolate syrup at Albertson's and it's marvelous, albeit a little pricey @$3.69/bottle. But, it rang up at $4.49, so I got it FREE!

I think the Carb Options BBQ sauce is not made anymore, but Kraft may still have some out there.....again, I bought 3 bottles at Target on clearance: 38 cents/bottle.

Let me know if you want any Bob's Red Mill Almond Meal.....the Target here has been selling it for $1.99/bag. I kind of feel guilty buying it that cheap. The website has it for over $11/bag, and at Kroger, it's $9.99. (I need to keep my mouth shut....they may realize their error soon enough!) The actual shelf tag shows it at $1.99. I try to buy one or 2 every time I go to Target. Just so they keep carrying it and don't clearance it because no one buys it.

OOOPS! I was gonna be brief! I just know, having lived in a smaller town and now in this gargantuan metropolis, the shopping options are more vast (and alot more crowded!) here than in Brady. Just let me know.

Maxi, I'll let you know on the almond meal. That's quite the bargain!

Last night we were watching tv, and there were several KoolAid commercials and they are now touting KoolAid as low calorie. Aiming commercials to kids, pushing low calorie. They don't say it's sugar free, so it must be just regular KoolAid, which has SUGAR in it! People, just give your kids water. They'll be healthier for it.

I did 15+ minutes on my gazelle. It's finally getting easier. My thighs don't rub together as much as they used to, so something must be going right!
