Thanks Tina!

Franny - I know what you mean about getting back to a routine. The Holidays are great but so disruptive. I was actually thrilled when i took down all the Christmas decorations this morning but the puppy was upset and kept heading me off. lol

Well I made it trhough the first day of the New Year with partial success! Failed at walking but succeeded in eating way less than usual. Not my fault either one though. Stomach virus kept me chained to the house, mostly in bed. and also kept me from eating very much. 660 calories eaten from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. was all i had. Supposed to rain today so will have to find an alternative exercise or walking venue.

Totally agree - VERY pleased to take down the decorations! Delighted to get back to 'normal'! Sweet pup - they love something new like that eh.

Hey Rob - Just came in to wish you happiness in the new year Poor, poor puppy... she's just hoping that if you leave the tree up that Santa will come back again.

Hope you're feeling better, Rob. What a way to start the new year, eh? I took down all of our Christmas decorations Sunday and, boy, the place looks bare. I agree with you about the holidays being disruptive. I can't wait to get back to my normal routine. Whatever 'normal' may be.

Rob, sorry you were feeling under the weather. I hope you are feeling better now. Can't figure out where Kim is..... getting kinda worried about her :(

My tree is still up....... comes down with all the other decorations this weekend. Had company and family over for New Year's this weekend so no time to take it all down.

Beach - yes she's a sweet pup but so willful.

Franny - All better!

Gregg - Yes let's make it Great!!

Katie - Yes Santa was good to her this year!

April - Bare yes, but nicely bare.

Rhonda - Technically you should leave decorations up for the full 12 days of Christmas but most people put their decorations up so early that by New Years Day they can't stand the sight of them. Yes I'm getting worried about Kim too. Hasn't it been about 2 weeks? not quite?

I hate rain. The wether forecasters keep saying "good we need the rain". But it is making my life bleak. Puppy doesn't get taken out as often when it rains and she had 2 accidents yesterday on the carpet. She hadn't ahd an accident in 2 weeks, mostly because i take her for a walk every 3 or 4 hours.
Then I had to mall walk which is so unfun that I only managed a mile and a half. I'll call it 2 1/2 km - doesn't sound so slugiish as 1 1/2 miles.

Made the Eden black soy beans with chicken Breast and chili powder. Pretty good but I couldn't finish it, so lunch is set. The first 2 days of 2006 have gone well food-wise! I averaged 2840 calories per day in December. is it any wonder i gained weight? and much of it was the wrong foods. Nothing really high carb (except cake - twice) but things lijke nuts and red wine. Things I know make me gain or at least retain water. So far I've had almost 2000 calories and that's the combined total for the 2 days. I'm trying to go light on calories for the first week to make up for New Years Eve. I figure by saturday I'll aim for 1700 calories or less (but not much less) and 30 to 35 net carbs.

I hope the rain lets up soon, Rob. We need it here too (not that we're getting it), but that doesn't mean that I have to like it when it comes

Poor puppy... once they are housebroken they always seem so mortified when they have an accident.

I hope you have a terrific day today.

Happy New Year to you my friend, I am so committed to eating right this year....I know I will go thru sugar/white stuff/ withdrawals in a couple of days, but you know what, thats ok, cause I will be better off without that stuff in my system any more.

Hope you and your puppies have a wonderful year together.

Rob, hope today finds you feeling MUCH better. I posted the Meatball Stew recipe in my journal. Not too terribly high on carbs if you forego eating the potatoes .... but I am usually tempted

Have a great day!

Rhonda - I feel way better than I did Sunday but worse than yesterday. I think it might be because I've recommitted to this woe and have been eating half the calories on average and many less carbs and am once again entering deep ketosis. Thanks for the recipe, it sounds good! I'll leave out the potatoes since it's only me eating it (and the pups and the cat). Do you think a turnip would work in this?

Katie - Not sure she was mortified so much as adopting a "wasn't me" attitude. lol

Carolyn - Happy AND successful New Year to you too! That's what's great about a New year, you feel like you have another chance to start again.

This stomach thing is back but not nearly as bad. But eating anything certainly comes with a small discomfort. Hey, that's not too bad when you're trying to lose weight. Good news - Was 213.5 Sunday morning. This morning 208. I've been doing pretty well keeping my calories and carbs low but I notice that each day there's a little more calories and a few more carbs. I'm going to try for less than yesterday to break this pattern.

Walked 4 1/4 miles yesterday on salem Trail. Torrential rains all day monday has every non paved surface so sogged up that you sink an inch or more if you try and walk there. Salem trail is almost all paved but one section of fine gravel was so soggy I kept sinking. In gravel? I think I'll need to walk paved surfaces today too. It's going to take a while for things to dry out without any sun.
