Default Taking 'baby steps' to weight loss and health.

I decided to start a journal to help me through induction and beyond...

This is day four and I lost 2 pounds!!!! Just for fun I thought I'd weigh myself everyday. I know that's not a good idea but like I said I did it just for fun.

    Day one-gained 4
    Day two-lost 5
    Day three-?
    Day four-lost 2

I'm just so happy that the scale has started to move in the right direction!!!
I also feel thinner too and I feel healthier! YESSSSS!!!

Still 2 pounds lighter, I actually think its more since my clothes seem to fit better. Yessss!

I'm over the nausea but then came the lack of an appetite. I think I may have made a mistake with using a soup mix to make a meatloaf. I didn't stop to count the carbs. That's one more thing to change, counting carbs.

For now though I need to increase my water to at least 64 ounces. I don't drink nearly enough water. Yesterday I drank diet rite for most of the day. Defineatly need to increase the water as I wouldn't want to slip back into any bad habits.

I did have a bad flare up of arthritis pain yesterday but the good news is that I didn't reach for food to comfort myself, just dealt with the pain. I think that's a good sign.

I forgot to post another victory. Eating out. I ate at a fast food restaurant the other day and I usually eat a whole meal, fries, drink, and burger. This time I only ate the burger and the toppings. Took some doing, it was so messy! Of course the gave me a waffer thin burger. Where's the beef?

Sounds as though you're doing VERY well...glad to hear that the nausea is gone...

Yep...drink that water...will go a long way in clearing those nasty toxins from your system.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thanks FrannyGlass. I am drinking more water. I just hope I can keep it up. I used to drink a lot of coke. I could guzzle down quarts of it. Not anymore though.

I think today is day 6 and I think I lost another pound. I did drink about 64 ounces of water. Now I have to keep that up for a week and see how that goes. That's my challenge to myself.

I thought I was over the carb cravings so I decided I was going to make my husband one of his favorite desserts then my children sat down in front of me eating one of my favorite snacks and my mouth just watered. Guess I'll wait. Guess I'm not over the carb cravings yet or at least I not that strong. I don't want to mess things up.

Hey Babystepping...you are just doing great! I agree that skinnies who go on and on about how they need to lose weight are very irritating! Part of it is our stupid culture that says everyone needs to be skinny as a rail and have huge boobs! Anyway...you are just right on track and doing so well.....Whoooo Hooooo!

Thanks you guys for the encouragement.

It's been 7 days and that scale says I gained a pound since yesterday but the night before I had lost 3 pounds total. I changed the battery in the scale. I wonder if that made a difference. Just kidding. I think I've already gained a bad habit, weighing myself daily or sometimes several times during the day. I'm just so happy the scale is moving and that I even lost any weight. I think I need to work on measuring(although I won't post what those measurements are). I do notice a change in how my clothes fit. It may not be much of a change but hey I'll take it.

I managed to drink another 64 ounces of water yesterday. It's getting easier to do. I'm trying to work in more vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes and green beans.

Well I'll try to watch my carbs more closely. I haven't been doing that.

Good morning babystepping...Oh yeah...that obsession with the scale can be a killer. The scale is going to bounce around from day to day and if you become a slave to it you will constantly be discouraged by it. There are some here who weigh daily and do quite well with it but I do better if I only weigh myself once a week at curves...even doing that, the scale can be a bummer. Good Job on getting your water in and getting in the veggies.

Do NOT weigh daily! That is only begging for trouble. LOL
Believe me I know. Here's an interesting website to track measurements and see a virtual model of your body. LINK You will need to register.

    Rob and Vicki,

I hear you and I know I shouldn't but boy is it hard for me to stay off. I'll take your advice and try to stay off the scale more.

Btw... the link did not work for me. I appreciate your help.

    Have a good day.

sorry about the link. They kill access after 20 minutes it seems. Stupid but what can you do. There used to be a website called myvirtualmodel.com but they have since stopped doing this. Oh and about weighing - only weigh first thing in the morning after using the facilities and wearing as little as modesty permits. lol

Kelly, glad to see your feeling better!

My children have begun to notice a little weight loss in my hands and around my arms. But then these are the same children that think I look just fine in my DL photo even though it looks like I weigh a 100 pounds more than I really do. And I look sick to boot. Must have been bad lighting. I had to take it 3 times and the examiner still wasn't satisfied.

I barely got in 60 ounces of water yesterday, must try harder today. So I'm doing ok on the water and eating more vegetables, trying very hard not to cheat. I don't believe that I have at least not intentionally. I do need to work on counting carbs and staying off that scale.

My husband did an evil thing to me the other day. He brought chocolate into the house and not just one form of chocolate, several forms of chocolate. I won't give in. I won't give in. I won't give in. But I will give away my husband to a good home. Like maybe his mom's. Just kidding.
