Default Ed's Place...come on in.

Well after taking it easy for the past year with my weight loss efforts I'm getting back to the basics and really trying to make a go of it again. I'm 331 pounds. I only gained 13 pounds. Not bad I think. But I must admit I never stopped this WOE. I just was not trying hard enough to focus on loosing weight. Last week I renewed my membership at the gym because it's too hot to be walking outside in the afternoon. Also I'm getting in some weight training. If you ever start lifting weights here is my #1 tip. Take it easy! Yeah you feel you can do 3 sets of 10 in all muscle groups but just do 1 set of 10. You'll be glad you did the next day. I learned this myself the hard way many years ago. Today I'm not sore at all. Well just alittle pain, the building kind. The net result of my first week back on plan. Almost 2 pounds lost! It's a good start.

Hello to everyone who has dropped in and thank you Shelly, Fanny, Tina, Beachy, Nita, Noel, and Kim for the nice words of support.
Kim, as much as I like Isabelle Boulay I need some butt kicking music on my iPod when working out. Greenday, Godsmack, that kinda crap gets me moving.
Noel, Don't be so hard on yourself, your doing great. 288, I wish I was where your at now. Think about it, we both started this WOE at about the same time and weight. Your doing so much better then I am. Keep up the good work.
Tina, I hope the cat pics on your computer are not these

I'm spending the weekend at my sister's house. We had a birthday party for my nephew Pat. So I was eating ice cream cake and some chocolate here. It's hard for me to stay in control when I'm out of my normal routine. I did bring down some low carb foods. Steakes and chicken for the grill and pork cracklins for snacks so for the most part I'm on plan. The weather is so nice this weekend here at the Jersey shore. She has a in ground pool. I got in a lot of swimming with the kids today and I'm sitting outside this evening with my laptop surfing the net and tending the chiminea. Summer is good.

Out of routine - out of control - seems to be universal Ed! All we can be sure of is one day at a time eh!

Wow ed I could have written that statement myself. the only change would be my nephew's name is Mike. Sundays spent at my sister's house have been my worst days ever. Anyway I'm glad you've started a journal and you seem to have renewed commitment to low carb and weight loss. Congratulations and good luck!

Absolutely frightening cat pictures. LOL

Hi Chris and Rob. Thanks for dropping in and welcome to my journal.
Yeah those cats are shocking, They breed them around here by the 3 mile island nuclear reactor, ever since that little spill back in the 80's. Har.
Franny, I love Green Day's American Idiot album. Almost every song on it rocks. I also like to listen to house dance music like Chemical Brothers while working out. It's a good fast driving beat that will keep up a good heart rate. Even some Janet Jackson songs are fun to workout with.

I got this message today about what can happen if you type in the wrong e-mail address.

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, sent the e-mail. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:
To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date: October 16, 2004
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then!
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
PS Sure is freaking hot down here
