Hey Ed - first name is 'Sandra' sounds as in 'Sarndra' (Brit pronounciation) I picked up the Chrimbo from a friend in Belgium - but she's a Brit - so expect it comes from somewhere there - but then again - her kids speak a rolling combination of French and English - and have their own little language - so might come from that.

Yes - well - reminds me of my XMIL - who said to Xll when she heard me on the phone 'She sounds like an AUSTRALIAN! She's not is she?'

Sandra- I guess Chrimbo is a common slang for Christmas because I found it listed on the Urban Dictionary.
Nita- I can't imagine driving 50 miles to see a movie. I would wait for them to come out on PPV too. There are not many movies I want to see in the theaters anyhow. Unless it's a movie like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or Harry Potter. It's better to see those kind of movies on the big screen then a TV. Have a nice trip to NYC. I'm sure you will enjoy it. In the last 20 years the Times Square area has changed so much. All of it for the better in my opinion. I use to hate walking to the bus station at night around there. Since Disney owns most of the block of 42st between TS and 7th Ave. it's nice to walk down that street at night. They really beefed up the police there. Most of them are plain clothes. I noticed this one time when a car went up on the side walk and stuck someone. Out of nowhere there was about 15 cops that showed up in a minute or two. They pull their sheild from under their shirt and wear it hanging on a neck chain. That's how they must patrol the area without it looking like a lot of cops walking around. There is so much to see and do in NYC. You'll have a great time.

Well last Thursday I did not loose any weight. I spent the weekend alone so I was on plan and finaly got my bedroom painted. It looks nice. I want to put up some crown molding before I get a bedroom set put in. Now I have to borrow MY miter saw back from my brother. He don't want to give it back yet. He's been working on his bathroom for at least a year. Us Dougherty's like to let new constructon settle before we finish everything. I've been in my new home 3 years now and I'm still not finshed paint the living room (I haven't even started) I also want to pain the garage floor. So the oil from the car won't seep into the concrete. I got to get that done next. I'm tired of cleaning the snow off my car in the winter and the car would be a lot cooler to get into in the summer if it was in the garage.

Time to ride the bike to the gym. I hope to drop a pound or two this week.

Franny I'm sure he's related to me, I come from a long line of noble procrastinators.
I guess it is a man thing Berta. To show you how much we like to make sure things settle here's an example.

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land , for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $150?" The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."

See, you gotta make sure things settle.

I was thinking as I read this that I drove my mom 72 miles to see a movie when we were in ND several years back. But then I saw you had listed it. It was the first Lord of the Rings. When you live in a very rural area going to see a movie on teh big screen is a big deal. Now I never go out but did get to the second Pirates movie because I'm a huge fan...love Johnny Depp...and the rest are fine in it as well. I'm so excited that these will just go on and on.

That joke is hilarious. I'm going to print it out and pass it about the office.

So another week went by with out any weight loss but my pants are looser and I moved up a notch on my belt. Went to a friends party Satruday night, I have not see her in a month or so and she said I look like I'm loosing again. That will get ya going. But I left the party early because I was feeling sick. I've had a sore throat since Wednesday. I was talking OTC meds but it was not getting better. by 4am I could not swallow my spit. I took a good look in the mirror and had big white spots down my throat so I went to the ER. Only took a half hour for the Dr to tell me I have tonsillitis. So I got a script for amoxicillin and pain killers, and was sent on my way. I think I'll call out sick tomorrow. I don't want to pass this along to my coworkers. I could also use a day off. The pain killers make it possible to get some fluids down. I eat some egg drop soup and egg foo young for dinner. The pills make me sleep. Hope it goes away soon. I have plans to go camping for labor day weekend and don't want to miss it.

Ed - yes get well soon! I think you should be better by friday if you're taking antibiotics. But if you don;t feel well camping would be no fun. Have a great week!
