Default Livin' La Vida LoCarb!

I changed the title of my journal--see?

Wasn't sure how to change the name of the existing thread, so I figured I'd just start a new one. Anywho, I've started over again (as of Monday), so I guess it's time for a new journal, too.

Munched for breakfast & lunch. B-fast was a boiled egg, 2 pieces of string cheese, and a few pieces of pepperoni. Had a couple of cups of English Breakfast Tea, too, with cream & Splenda.

Around lunchtime, because I ate b-fast so late, I had a Diet Big Red. Later on, I snacked on a bag of hot n spicy pork rinds.

I'm hungry for supper, but I don't know what to fix. Went to Brownwood to have the car horn looked at. It sounds really sick. While we were there, I did a little shopping @ the Dollar Tree (doncha love it?), as well as Big Lots (love it, too!). John wanted Little Caesars pizza, and because I can't have it, or Taco Bell, or Whataburger, he got mad and we came home. Now he doesn't want anything (or so he says). He's not as supportive as he said he would be.

Gotta go, Bob keeps bringing me food, so I guess I should make him something.

Thanks, Tina! Just thought of it this afternoon--catchy, eh?

Supper was turkey-swiss roll-ups and celery w/ cream cheese. I needed a little somethin more, so I made a omm. I know they're not really on the first week of the plan, but I didn't have any Jello made, and I was H-U-N-G-R-Y!

Very catchy, and accurate. It's all about what works for you -- omm may not be on week one, but it's a step in the right direction!

Bethany - if you ever want the name of one of your threads changed, just ask a Moderator, or Andrea, to do it. We can do that. Since you've started this new journal, I'll go ahead and lock the other one.

Hi Bethany...I love the name of your new journal. I think the OMM was a great choice for a snack. It may not techically be a week one food but it's still a good choice. I'm sorry that your DH isn't being as supportive as you had hoped he would be.....that can make it kinda challenging. Mine is supportive but he still wants to eat what he wants when he wants and it can be pretty tough when he wants to go to one of the FF restaurants that are almost impossible for me to get anything that is LC and actually SATISFIES me! Oh sure, I can get a salad an McDonalds...but I'm still hungry after I eat the darned thing! My favorite FF place is Carl's Jr (Hardees?) I can get the LC $6 burger and it actually fills me up...when I am absolutely starving I get the LC pastrami burger wrapped LC style....oh yeah, my mouth is watering! I'm glad to see you back....have a great day

So, you lifted the name of your journal from Jimmy Moore at CarbWire - betcha didn't know that! I check there every day for news and recipes. In fact, it's on My Yahoo page.

Why didn't you try Skillets? It's very lc friendly, and reasonably priced, too. Good service, too.

No, Mom, I didn't know I stole it! I thought I was just being clever!

John HATES did I say HATES Skillets. Don't know why. I tried to convince him to go to Humphrey Pete's, but he really didn't want to go in anywhere. He just wanted to go to a drive-thru.

I feel really crappy today. Plus, I had John yelling at me for being lazy. Of course I'm lazy--I'm sick! His thing is, "You were gonna!" Yes, I know, I was gonna do some laundry; I was gonna do some dishes; etc., etc., etc., ........ But he got to be sick, why can't I?

Thanks, again, everyone!

Women aren't allowed to be sick, because their husbands are too helpless to function without them. Men don't know how to put together a meal, wash dishes, do laundry, dust, etc., unless you are on your deathbed and there is absolutely no one else to do it for them. And, if you are really, really sick, they absolutely will not water your plants, and they'll all wither up and die with you.

Why in the world would anyone hate Skillets? Their omelets are fantastic. When we go at breakfast-time, I drool over the pancakes, they look so good. Plus, they give us the geezer discount. Sometimes it pays to get "mature".

You and Liza and I ought to try out the new restaurant downtown one day soon. What do you think? Have a girls only lunch. Maybe see if Nikki wants to come down, too.

Sounds good, but I've already been there . We went on the day they opened. The food took a reeeeeaaaaalllllyyyyy long time to get out, but it was their first day, too. It would be nice to give them another try, though. And, they're open on Sundays, so maybe we could go for lunch after the meeting sometime.

I think maybe Skillets is too geezer-ish for John.(?)

Yup! But he did get me a salad to go with my steak this evening. I spiffed it up a bit with some shredded & parmesan cheeses, and my own dressing. The stuff that John got w/ the salad (a side salad from Mickey-D's) was sesame ginger--14 g carbs per pkt.!!! I used a small drizzle of Green Goddess. I think it's 2 g per serving, and I don't think I even had a whole serving.

Still feeling crummy, but I think I'll feel better tomorrow. Seems like this thing is only lasting a couple of days. John is much, much better today, and Bob was feeling better yesterday, so my turn to feel better should be soon.

Puritan's Pride is running another big sale, and I really need to stock up on some vitamins. I think I'll pop over to their site & see how much $$$ they can extract from me.

Feeling somewhat better today, still not 100%, but when do I ever?

This has been a bad week for my Bob! Monday he was sent home from school because he was "out of control" -- throwing stuff (including chairs), and not wanting to do his work. Turns out he didn't feel good. Hard to know when he can't tell you what's wrong. Tuesday I kept him home because he was sick. Wednesday he went to school, but we picked him up early because the school nurse found a "medicine not listed on his card" that was in his backpack. Of course, the fact that he needs to have this medicine with him at all times didn't seem to matter to her. Then yesterday was a field trip to Super WalMart in Brownwood. An all day thing. Because Bob only goes to school 4 1/2 hours, we agreed that this would be a strain on him (unless one of us went, too), so I kept him home again. We'll have more notice of the bigger trips in the future, so we can plan better. So that brings us to today. Well, it started last night--pinworms (again!). So, Bob is home again today. Maybe next week will be better.

Ate very, very low-carb today. If anything, I may not have gotten enough calories. Didn't feel like having breakfast. Had not quite a can of tuna w/ mayo & dill relish w/ pork rinds for lunch. Supper was a couple of turkey-swiss roll-ups with 1 1/2 hard-boiled eggs and a few olives. Mostly water to drink all day. I did have a 44 oz Diet Coke and a couple of cups of hot tea today. Not even hungry for a snack tonight, so I guess that the natural appetite suppressant that is this woe is kicking in. Down to right at 300 lbs, so that's 20 lbs (at least) lost!!! Yippee!!!!!
