Thanks everyone, you too!

It's Dec. 26, and I enjoyed a relaxed eating holiday week. This morning I began tightening up on my LC eating. I brought in turkey and broccoli casserole for lunch, and already started drinking on the water. Weight this morning was 212, and I hope to drop a quick 5 lbs of water weight this week, then slowly come on down to 205 lbs.

My foot (bunion removed a month ago) is feeling better, I am more mobile. Now I feel I can start a light workout program at home. My DW got me an MP3 player as part of Christmas, so I can play music without waking up anyone at nite.

Here we go...

Doing great...eggs, meat, fish, veggies, multivitamins and water.

I've had a workout using my new mp3 player, and it's great. It's so small that it doesn't get in the way at all like a CD player does. The one I have is called a Creative Zen V Plus - it holds 4 Gig and even plays videos. It really helps inspire the workouts!

Happy New Year!

I guess the 2006 title of this journal is a bit limiting...

Today is good, 210# on the morning weigh-in. Back on track and heading down to my goal weight of 205#. I have incorporated some exercise, and feel good about the progress I am about to make!

209 lbs.

Been exercising every other day for about 30 minutes. Some weights, stretching and abs. Yesterday I bought a new dumbbell set from Bowflex (Selectech) that you dial in the weights for each dumbbell up to 52.5 lbs. They are great and easy to use. They were on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods, where you get the (very nice...) stand free when you buy the set for $399. I couldn't pass that up. I already have the Bowflex Sport, so now these will jump-start my enthusiasm!

Also, I was able to put on my 34" jeans for the first time today. It ain't especially pretty from some angles...but they stretched out after a few minutes and now I can breath freely. About 3 more pounds and they'll be a lot better.

Just 4 more lbs to your short term goal, you're already at the 34" jeans, now you just need to grow 5 inches taller and you're all set!

Your hard work has really paid off for you. That's a great loss, considering that you had holidays to get through, and didn't you have some illness or injury or something, too? Well, I'm impressed. Great going, Mort!

After a gentle start of light exercises, I've now began more strenuous and intense workouts with heavier weights and shorter rests. I'm trying to get a workout in every other day, or third day at the most. Some soreness, of course, but it feels good!

Pretty good eating the last two days, a few carbs slipped in there that I should have resisted...but overall ok. I haven't done a good weigh-in for a couple days, but the numbers are less important since I'm doing resistance training. Its all about the clothes and the mirror for now.

Thanks for the support, QM!

Good progress with workouts and diet. Incorporated a protein shake on workout days (1/2 serving before workout, 1/2 serving after workout). It's a good bit off plan, due to the carbohydrates in the drink...but it is really helping with muscle recovery and stamina during the workout. Just experimenting...

211 lbs.

Going well with high intensity workouts and the protein shake on workout days. Food intake is moderate.

A foot (bunion) setback...found out this week that I have to do another surgery on the same bunion toe - it is a bit overcorrected in it's alignment, and has to be re-broken and set. It is scheduled for this Wednesday. Yuk...back to crutches for about 4 weeks. The good news is, I am making the recovery a bit easier on myself this time by buying a 42" LCD TV to keep me occupied for all those hours on the couch!

210#, but with added muscle mass...34" jeans. Pretty pleased, overall, but still have that fat roll just above the jeans.

I did have the 2nd surgery to align the toe on 1/24/07. Still on crutches, no weight allowed on foot.

Food intake is a bit high on carbs, but I've continues intense workouts every other day and added a protein shake on workout days. I need to add in a lot more water, and be more strict with carbs in order to drop the belly fat.

This healing process is much easier than the first surgery, I'm glad for that. Only needed pain pills for 2 days instead of 5 or 6.

Hope you all are doing well!

First nite back at work from 2nd foot surgery.

211#, 34" jeans, seeing good upper-body results from workouts...still need to get rid of the waist line bulge.

I went to GNC and stocked up on a protein powder that has only 6g of carbs (vs. 22g protein), which fits my LC plan better. Also, I got 2 months worth of their multivitamin pack, and some fish oil pill supplements.

Let's also mark the occasion of my sister-in-law getting married and moving out of the country! My family is rejoicing...but I figure her new husband will someday return and kick my a** for not warning him about her. But, it will be a worthwhile a**kicking (and I deserve it!).
