Hey Mort! Just buzzed in to say "HEY!" How's your wife doing?

I've been having problems logging into your journal. It's amazing I got here!

Hey folks! My wife is completing the needed Bed Rest following her hospital stay. Unfortunately, I have slipped a bit in the Low Carb realm. As you know, if you lose focus and don't plan meals properly...ya slip off plan.

My weight is 208 lbs. due mostly to the challenges at home. But, the DW is getting stronger, and the kids start school in the next few days. All the school shopping is done! This should allow me to stay the course.

One problem I'm having is an over-indulgence in Whipped Cream...the kind you get out of the can. It started off as an innocent snack that seemed to replace sweets pretty effectively. But over a couple week period I slowly ate more and more, like 25 mouthfuls in a sitting, not good. I had a similar problem with heavy cream a couple years ago. I now recognize the problem, and have limited myself to 3 mouthfuls at a time, and I'm not allowed to take it to my chair. Anyway...

Glad your wife is on the mend.

Hey, I know what you mean about the whipped cream. I made a scrumptious "Key Lime Pie" last night and have been eating "mouthfuls" all day.(the recipe is in the cooking forum and in my journal.) I can't stay away from it. I made another one today with crust to take to my SIL's and will leave whatever we don't eat at their house.

sometimes, it's best just to not have the stuff around, yanno?

Yeah, I can relate. It finally turned "summer" here in the northeast and I pulled my ice cream making machine out (to replace my slow cooker ... lol!) and I have to be very careful to make SMALL portions, or I'll pig out on home made ice cream until it's gone. Old habits die hard.

206.5 lbs. I seem to have taken control of the whip cream. It's still in the house, but under self-imposed limitations. I've also struggled to get my workouts in this last couple of weeks. Motivation needs a jump-start.

207.5 lbs. Good start, the kitchen is stocked with some of my LC staples like eggs, salad mix, almonds, spaghetti squash, selzer water, cheese and meat.

202.5 lbs. A NEW new low. Reminder to self: the whoosh began this weekend when doing Critical Path SOC role on Friday and Saturday for 12 hours. Very active, lots of walking, and only had time to eat low carb bars and bananas. Been very focused on the LC since then (today is Tuesday).

200.5 lbs. Continuing good eating and workout practices. DW had surgery today, ended up removing both ovaries. Even my 34" jeans are fitting, and the belts are on their last hole.

200.5 lbs. Today is my signature goal day to achieve 197 lbs. I'm still on my way there, and will keep the same signature goal as a reminder. Even getting below 200 lbs. will be a huge milestone, I haven't seen sub-200 in at least 15 years.
