| Rhonda, Kelly, Heather - thanks for the new year well-wishes! I need all the good vibes I can get! Good morning, everyone. John and I were in bed last night and asleep by 11:00pm. The most exciting thing we did was to play a video game on my new PS3 in two-player mode. Remind me some time to tell you how I ended up buying the stupid PS3. It's a doozey of a story. Gonna take down the Christmas tree and decorations today. It'll be back to the "plain Jane" look once again. *sigh* It's kinda a let-down each year when it happens, but OH WELL. Good thing for today (so far): We slept with the window open about five inches last night, making it very cold in our bedroom, and making for a great night's sleep!! My nose was cold out from under the covers, but it was snuggly and warm under the covers, wearing my new flannel jammies John got me for Christmas!

| MaryKay - the tree came down this morning. It is a sad, sad living room without it. Lisa - yes, your journal is here, and all you do is seek it out when you wanna journal something, and yes, you reply to your own journal. Thanks for visiting mine! Gregg - I'm still battling with quitting the smoking. Don't get me wrong.........I've haven't had one!! It's just rough right now, so the eating "on track" just now may hafta wait some more. Rob - yeah, my living room looks bleak. Not only did I take the decorations down, I called the Lupus foundation and put out a TON of holiday decorations as well as old clothes for them to pick up in the morning. No sense wasting space with stuff I don't use. I'm still sipping on Bailey's from last night, but I haven't smoked. I'll get back on track eating-wise soon.

| April, I don't want to rush you into something you aren't ready for yet. I know what a struggle it is to give up the smokes, I have a little more quit time than you do so I feel ready to give it a go. But for me eating lc is still secondary to not smoking. Heck losing weight is a piece of cake compared to quitting the cigs. Take your time. Just having the awareness of your eating while not smoking is a good place to be for now. ((Hugs))

| Gregg - I can't tell you what your post means to me just now. Thanks so much. It is STILL so tempting to go to the corner convenience store and get a pack. Wow. I thought I'd be past that point right now. But, apparently I'm not. So I'm focusing all of my energy on that just now, and not worrying about the eating part at the moment. Thanks for your support. It means a lot.

| Hello April - speaking as a woman who has had a LOT of experience with addiction (my own included!) - I am full of admiration for your quitting. I note you mentioned nicotine was a very invasive drug - it certainly is, and when I was acquiring my D&A qualifications - we considered nicotine to be equally as addictive as heroin. Alcoholics were through the worst of their cravings within 48-78 hours - smokers were generally longer. Very very brave of you and well done and don't worry about the food intake - just take care of yourself. |

| Hi April...Just came by to wish you a Happy New Year. I really admire your determination to quit smoking......you are doing AWESOME! I agree....don't even worry about getting the eating back on track until the nicotine cravings subside. I know I've said this before but it's worth repeating. When the cravings stop and you are truly free from the addiction to smoking it is just the best feeling of being free. I will never forget the exact moment when I realized I was truly free from cigarettes.....and I still have moments when I realize how thankful I am that I don't want to smoke anymore. Hang in there...it will all be worth it. Best wishes to you for a wonderful 2007
