Today I feel wonderful!! Woke up and did my elliptical, went shopping at the Salvation Army $3 bag sale and took home so many lovelies, currently on the treadmill catching up online and then later will weight train with DH when he gets up from his nap. Kids are being wonderful with just relaxing playing their XBox. Later we'll put up the Christmas tree together. I'll have to take pictures and post them soon of our pretty tree.

Here is a picture of our beautiful tree. We donated a lot of Christmas clutter to Salvation Army tonight. Think the house looks cute without wall to wall stuff this year.

Heather - Pretty tree! my first thought was "why so early". Then realized that Thanksgivng is only a few days away. Lots of people I know decorate their tree the day after T-day. Me I'm a December 10 kind of decorator.

We usually don't decorate this early but since we bought a new one we didn't want to figure out how to arrange our storage closet and then take it back a week later - lol. Lazy wins every time at this house. Don't you think this year has just flown?

Woke up this morning to a foot of beautiful snow on the ground. It's nice and sticky so the roads weren't so bad to drive in. I'll let the kids play a bit in it later while waiting for M's papa to pick her up later.

Snow! Have fun playing in it. We don't get snow often, but when we do, I enjoy it. Here we don't have to shovel it, it melts usually the same day or the day after. The town just shuts down for the day. LOL!

How come they shut the town down? Does the roads get slippery? I guess TX people aren't used to driving in snow like Montana's are. Does the town have snow plows? The kids and I are going out in about 15 minutes to enjoy it for a bit. I'll just stand there and let them play. Thankfully they don't get me involved in their snow ball fights. I think I'll bring the camera and take their pictures of their smiles.

Heather, we get so little snow, there's no need for snowplows or salting the roads, either. We either brave the slippery roads (and the fools who've never driven on snow and think it's a piece of cake), or everyone takes the day off, or delay the start of business until the sun melts the snow. I grew up in Ohio, I know how to drive in the snow, but I cringe when I see others who get to drive on it only once a year or so, who skid and slip & slide all over the place. Anyway, snowplows would be a huge waste of money! They do put sand on the bridges and overpasses when it gets slippery, for a little more traction, but it doesn't really help much.

It's a really pretty picture. Sometimes I miss winter.....then I remember that you have to shovel snow, and I really don't miss it that much!

Heather, loved the snow picture. We could get cold enough to get some white stuff this week. Looks like you didn't have high winds with yours and it just floated down. I wonder if you could make snow ice cream and use splenda in stead of sugar in it.

Glad you are feeling better and enjoying the snow with your young boys.

Snow! My goodness. It was 72 degrees in KC yesterday. I went skating at the outdoor rink, but it was like pushing the skates through slush.

And yes, you can make snow ice cream with Splenda. I love it. Toss together a bunch of snow, some Splenda, milk or cream, and vanilla extract--or peppermint, or whatever you like. I haven't tried it, but I'll bet any DaVinci sugar-free syrup would be great. It needs to be fresh, fluffy snow--scrape off the top layer to avoid dirt.

Your decorations are delightful! I'm sure the kids don't mind having Christmas around for a long time.

Oh Wow..That is gorgeous...I haven't seen snow like that in many years. First Hubby and I ( he worked in the oil fields...pipelining surveyor...etc) anyway we spent a winter in Williston, ND...it was goergeous...but I was literally housebound...I was petrified to try and drive in that stuff...It was quite an experience...One Winter I will never forget!...Thanks for Sharing Heather!!!

Heather - Love the snow picture. I'm hoping for at least one big snow storm here. We haven't had one in years. Yes here too many people just don't know how to drive in snow. Have a good day!

The car drivers door handle broke off today. Thankfully we could get in the passenger door but the back two doors were frozen so we had to have the kids climb through the front door - lol. The car warmed up and now one of the back doors opens and the passenger. The drivers door opens from the inside. Anyway, memories that we're giving the kids.

Vickie - I've always loved the snow. Winter reminds me of DH when we wanted to 1st spend 100% of our time together, when our kids were born, when DH and I renewed our vows.... but now that I'm into walking I miss my nice weather days too. I'm never happy am I? As for never driving in snow it makes me nervous which is bad since I don't like to drive in the first place. This is just one more reason I like to walk.
    -
Nita - It sure is slippery around the apartment complex today. The roads seem clear but someone needs to gravel around here. When I was a teenager I used to shovel snow for the exercise as well as wash the car, mow the lawn...I'm still weird because I pep talk myself into things I don't particularly enjoy saying that they help burn calories. When my DH found out this weird fact about me he started telling me I should do certain things to burn more calories....he'll never do that again. Grrrr.......

Sweet p Carrole - It has been so nice the last few days waiting for ds at his bus stop without the wind. Monday and Tuesday DH is at work during the bus times so I bare it alone. I usually jump on the treadmill or clean up the house while he goes the rest of the week because I feel guilty with him standing out in the cold all alone.
    -
Barb - Hey lady!! Thanks for stopping by! I've had ice cream snow before when I was growing up and it was wonderful. Thanks for reminding me because I really want to make this memory for my kids too. Thank you for the compliment on the decorations. Since we get up as early as 5am around here the kids are liking all the lights turned on in the morning with the house lights off. My 8 year old ds has brought out his Shrek Christmas CD for us to enjoy as well - lol.
    -
Lisa - Howdy! I tried to think of ways to stay inside today but it was a no go. Thankfully it isn't that biting cold.
    -
Rob - Thanks! Have a good day too!

Happy Thanksgiving Heather up in the snowy state of Montana. I hope you have a great day tomorrow with your family. We are getting a little snow today but won't be over an inch. Not enough to make snowmen and forts. Oh well, maybe next time.
