Happy New Year!!
*******

Last year I reached goal (PTL!) so this years resolution? To see that 6 pack that I know is wanting to come out. I'm up to weight training now 3 hours a week and cardio 5-7x a week. I'm still loving exercising which I've learned through successful maintainers that this is one key to staying at goal.

My newest motivational tool is a mio watch that keeps track of my daily calories. Carbs? I choose low calorie/carb breads, lean proteins, 4 plus servings of veggies, low sugar fruits, 3 fats (butter, avacado, ect.) and then limit myself to 2 servings of milk a day that I put in my coffee. The watch also tracks my calories I burn during exercise by monitoring my heart rate so I can add what I burn. I know that if I exercise and don't get in enough calories I won't lose which can be frustrating going through all that trouble and not seeing scale results. I weigh only on Saturday because the scale can frustrate me if it doesn't show the results I feel I should have. My other motivational tool is my pedometer. Keeps me moving and tells me if I'm being lazy.

Another motivator? If I do good I take a nice relaxing bath at night. My daily victory bath which I look forward too. I'm also going to try to keep the radio on more then the TV. I eat more when the TV is on but dance and clean more when the radio is on. My mom always listened to music while cleaning so I must get this from her.

This year is going to be great!! Can't wait until the weather gets better because my exercise will increase with walking the kids to school and back. Then I'll have no problem keeping up my 12,000 - 17,000 pedometer daily goal.

Heather - I must tell you this. You are such an inspiration to me, girly. You'll never know the times I've visted all of your journals, reading your posts, and looked at your pictures, for inspiration to lose this weight once and for all. Anyway....just wanted to tell you that, and that you are a vital part of this community. Thanks for being here.

Will someone please tell this US-speak challenged Aussie what a 'six-pack' is?!

Gregg - Grrr...I?m a workout animal is right!

April - Thanks for such the great compliments. Right back at you!

Foxie - Thanks! I went on and on because I?m just motivated today. 1st day of the year always does this to me. Just updating a few changes last minute too. I was going to weigh daily but decided against it because passed lessons taught me that it can lift me up as well as bring me down so low I binge.

Vickie - Thanks for stopping by. This is going to be another great year for our health here at LCE!

Tina - 6 pack is something I?ve always wanted. Can?t wait until weight training tomorrow to get started with it again this year.

Was able to get in my victory bath tonight which was my first in awhile. Took a nice hot one with candles and milk bubble bath. I also treated myself to a diet pepsi jazz drink. When I was young I used to sneak my mom?s soda pop and drink it while I was taking a bath. We weren?t aloud her soda (who really needs it anyway?) so it felt like a real treat to relax with a soda. Then I put on my black night gown, black hair tie, nice smelling lotion on and painted my nails. So good to pamper myself for being good. Day #1 on plan was a great success.

Thanks Nita and J-girl. I really enjoy talking with you both and well, everyone here at lce.com. Everyone here blends so well together. I might have mentioned that my stepsister was just teasing me a few weeks ago because I always will look on the bright side of things. I believe everything is in His hands and if he didn't want something to happen it wouldn't. I?ve had some pretty scary things happen to me in my life but it has made me into who I am today and I feel stronger for these experiences. Wouldn?t you know that everything usually works out better then I would have imagined. Opposites must attract because my DH is the world?s most negative person and he knows it. I give people the benefit of the doubt but he thinks that everyone has bad motives. We work together so well, it?s amazing because in every way we?re different. He says that we love each other and that is why it works.
