Take care, Vickie. I don't blame you for staying home. Sometimes you get better faster eating chicken soup, drinking hot tea, and taking aspirin, than sitting waiting to see a doctor and getting medicine that may or may not help.

Enjoy your time with Autumn. She's sure to make you feel better.

Vickie - They don't do very much for a cold anyway so you lost nothing. unless it's the flu and you're running a fever over the counter meds will help just as much as a Doctor's prescription. At least that's how I've always looked at it.

Good morning everyone. Thanks so much for all the encouraging notes and well wishes. I ended up just hanging out at my mom's house with Autumn for a few hours and then DS took her home with him. He could see that i wasn't feeling well at all so he opted to stay at my mom's, take a nap (he works nights) and then take another nap after he got home...so that i wouldn't have to drive Autumn home.

I am still feeling pretty rough this morning. I can't imagine why a simple cold has me so down! I think I'm getting better though. The drainage from my nose is less scary looking than before so that must mean I am getting better, right? I haven't been on plan at all this weeekend but also not feeling much like eating so I think it will even out. We stayed home from church this morning and I've been up for a couple of hours and I think I am going back to bed now....I have absolutely no energy.

Good Morning Heather!! I did have a good nap yesterday...I slept all afternoon and woke up just in time to watch the Chargers lose the game....oh well...I'm not much of a sports fan anyway.

So...yesterday was COMPLETELY off plan...no sense listing what I ate in the way of comfort foods....we've all been there. I am looking forward to starting the curves plan a week from now. My first class will be on Monday, Jan 22 and I will start the plan the next day. In the meantime I will continue to try and eat healthy LC.

I am off from work today as we take the third Monday of every month off. Not going to curves today....but I am starting to feel better. I may go for a walk later in the day. Actually...as embarrassing as this is to admit...I will be taking my Christmas decorations down today. First I am going to go and see my sister's new kitten.

Speaking of cats...here's my silly agnes drinking my coffee. This cat LOVES coffee

So for the biggest loser challenge are you going to wear your heaviest clothes so you can have a big weigh in for the first one and better results later? I'd be tempted to do this but maybe that is dishonest. Guess I'd end up talking myself out of it for the sake of doing what is right.

A cat that drinks coffee! Now I've seen it all.

Heather, Nita, & Rob....thanks for the visits. I am feeling better...not great, but better. Better enough to be here at work anyway. Our internet service was down this morning here at work...I HATE not being able to get online!!! Anyway....so far today I have been 100% on plan. Had a OMM for breakfast and a salad with leftover steak, boiled egg and bleu cheese on it for lunch...yummy stuff.

I can't believe that our sidewalks were ICY this morning!! There was water from the sprinklers on the sidewalks and it was frozen so walking to work was like walking in an ice rink...I know that is normal for alot of you but here in San Diego it's pretty unusual! To make matters worse, i wore my cute pink converse all stars....now they are very cute but the traction on the ice sucked!

    OK..better work now

Hi Lisa....I feel the same way about the internet....I like feeling "connected"....we had a technician here and he fixed something so hopefully it will be more reliable now.

Did well yesterday until dinner...today is a new day. i don't know what the problem is and why I am having so much trouble finding my willpower...I seem to have misplaced it. I got my "member guide" for the curves plan today...I'm excited to check it out.

So far I've had 2 small flaxseed muffins and a cup of tea for breakfast.

Vickie, you've been sick, and it's harder getting back on track after that. You'll get there.

Hi Lisa...Hi Nita...thanks for the encouraging words!

I stayed on plan yestrday all the way...Yay for me. I have been reading through the curves member guide familiarizing myself with the food plan. It looks pretty do-able. It reminds me of "The Zone." It's calorie, carb and fat controlled. The first week is 1200 calories per day (1400 if you count the optional curves protein shake) made up of 135 gms of protein, 90 gms of carb, and 33 gms of fat. After the first week it jumps to 1600 calories with the option of the shake as well...180 gms protein, 120 gms of carb, and 45 gms of fat. Right now I am just figuring it all out and getting ready to plan my first week's menu. there is a menu plan already planned out in the book but it would mean buying alot of things I don't have on hand so I am going to plan out a week that doesn't require me to completely restock my pantry. For example, I would rather buy a big bag of frozen blueberries at costco and use that as my main source of fruit than to but 10 differnt fruits...plus, I see no reason to eat something like 1/2 cup of canned pineapple when I can have a whole cup of blueberries for the same food value and have it actually be good for me. All in all I see this as being a tool for me to learn to normalize my diet. The carb count sounds high except that you don't deduct fiber so it's really not that high. So...I will give this 6 weeks....the length of the class.....and see how it goes.
