Thanks Ophelia, Yes, I really need to get my health in control. It's hard for me to stay focoused in the long run. Got on the scale tonight and I'm right on 350. Not sure how much I lost last week. maybe 5 to 10 pounds. Last week I was pining that dr.'s scale no matter how far I had that little weight to the right. I drank only one can of soda. I think there is a can or two left in the fridge. After they're gone no more.

So I got in my walking today but forgot to make my lunch and dinner for work. Doh! Anyway here's a little joke I got today. A man walked into the produce section of his local supermarket and asked to buy half a head of lettuce. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of lettuce. The man was insistent that the boy ask his manager about the matter. Walking into the back room, the boy said to the manager, "Some a-hole wants to buy half a head of lettuce." As he finished his sentence, he turned to find the man standing right behind him; so he added, "And this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half." The manager approved the deal, and the man went on his way. Later the manager said to the boy, "I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier. We like people who think on their feet here. Where are you from, son?" "Texas, sir," the boy replied. "Well, why did you leave Texas?" the manager asked. The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but whores and football players down there." "Really?" said the manager. "My wife is from Texas." "Really?!" replied the boy. "Who'd she play for?"

Starting week 2. On plan and doing well. I walked every day last week and got my walk in today. Last night I started a new routine of walking up the stairs at work with a coworker. The goal is 3 flights everynight till Febuary then add one more flight for each month after that. I did not have a problem with 3 flights but I was breathing heavy at the top. I did not forget to bring my lunch and dinner to work tonight.

The stair challenge sounds fantastic! We'd be hard pressed to find a flight of stairs in this town, except perhaps at the high school! You're doing great, Ed. Glad to see you back here more often.

Thanks Marie and Nita. Being 150 pounds overweight makes those stairs a real challenge indeed. Had a great day today. Got out and walked 25 minutes at home. Made myslef my lunch and dinner and save some bucks. hiked the stairs again tonight. Finished the last can of soda yesterday so no diet sodas today. nothing but water. and a couple of spenda flavored waters. This weekend will be hard. I'm going camping with my Brother and a couple of old friends. There will be all kinds of carbs there. Solid and liquid. I'm sure I will break but I'll try to keep it to a minimum. Then get back on plan Monday. have a good weekend everyone. If you don't see me here Monday slap me out of my carb high.

Hi Gregg, Thanks for stopping in. The camping trip was good. Some rain but what's camping without rain. The food and drink was great. My buddies and I are not the normal burger and Bud beer kind of campers. We eat and drink well. Each breakfast was eggs and bacon or french toast. For snacks we had a variety of olives, cheese and crackers. The big meal Saturday night was blackend catfish with yellow rice. Very tasty. Some new beers and wines this year. I really liked the Dogfish Head Ales, and for the wine there was a Louis Latour Pouilly Fuiss? that was great. And to top it off I brought a bottle of 15 year old Balvenie single malt. Sweet. I was trying to explain to my friends about this show I saw on the TV. It was all about the Italian process of cork soaking. Well what do you know here is a link to it. Enjoy.
