We used to camp a lot when the kids were little - tent camping. I'm too old & arthritic to sleep on the hard ground anymore, but it was fun when I was able. Now I'd need an RV with ac and heat, running water, etc! And that's just too expensive - might as well rent a hotel room!

Glad you had fun, Ed.

Sleeping on the ground is for kids and young people. Us old folks use a cot. My back would be killing me if I did not sleep on the cot. As for tent camping that's still fun in the warmer weather but in winter we rent a small cabin. The park calls them Lean-to's but they are inclosed like a cabin. They can sleep 6 but 4 adults fit well. There is a wood burning stove in them and that can really heat the place up. too much at times. I go camping about 5 or 6 times a year. The first two trips are just the guys then we all get together with the wifes and kids. When the kids are around it's smores every night. and we go low key with the drinks and fancy meals.

Today I'm back on plan. Got in my 20 minute walk although my legs are sore from the weekend hike. Packed myself lunch and dinner again. I'm happy to be here.

My "friend" sent me this Pilates DVD to help me loose weight. I think she is trying to kill me.

I just did the video for 30 minutes and I'm dying here. This video is for very felxible women who only need to loose a few pounds. Like my friend. I'm sure that's why it worked well for her.

I can't preform most of the moves she does but I will keep at it because I am sweating and any movement I try does help. I hope it will help me stretch my body out more. i'm really tence in my upper back and it did seem to help.

going out to do my walk now.

Starting week 3 on plan and I'm down a pound this week, 349. Not sure if the weekend camping was that really bad on the diet thing. I don't loose weight quickly that's for sure. I've walked everyday since January 3. Today I woke with my back hurting like a pinched nerve and my stomach muscles are still sore from that Pilates DVD. I don't think I have ever worked out my stomach like that before. and I could not even do a real sit up with out using my arm to help. I'll try the dvd again when the soreness goes away.

I rented this DVD today. Total Stretch for Beginners.

I found it to be good for someone like me who is very over weight and totaly out of shape. I've been having problems with tightness in my back from stress I think. She has some good strecthes for it. There are some movements that I can't preform because of my lack of balance but she does say you can hold on to a chair or wall. Also there are some moves that I'm just to big in the belly and thighs to preform but I try to work around it. There are two parts to the dvd with slightly different routines. She explains how to do each movement well and where you should be feeling the stretch.

Anyway, I'm going to order one for myself because I think it's a good routine to add into my daily workout.

Had a good night at work Friday and managed again to avoid those dreaded homemade brownies and cookies at the office. I did have some diet coke and what's funny is about an hour or two I was craving more. I did not go out to buy any and I have none at home. It's just water and flavored water today.

I'm going to try the Pilates for weightloss DVD my friend sent me again. I could really feel the workout in my abs for days when I did it this week. That dvd is all about abs and I'm sure it did workout each muscle. I have to take it easy with it. I don't think it does much for wieght loss but if you are a thin woman I'm sure it would show inprovemnts in the abs in weeks.

Ending week 3 on plan. I lost 2 pounds this week. I'm at 347. I walked everyday this week too and I'm still climing the stairs with my co-worker each night at work. I have to keep on chopping away and trying to stay focused everyday.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for reminding me to check back in here. I set up my prefs on LCE to send me an e-mail if someone replies to this post.

This week I did not loose or gain anything. I keep up with the daily walks, using the stairs at work, and making my own lunch an dinner. But I did make a big mistake last week. I went to Sam's Club and bought a big bag of pistachios. Then I finished them off in a few days. So it's no surprise I did not loose. I'm just happy I did not gain. I got in some good long walks this past weekend. at least 45 minutes each day. I hope to be able to do that again this weekend. The weather man said it will be very cold this weekend but thankfuly we won't be having a nor'easter from all that rain down south. I like snow, just not 6 feet of it.

So I'm still chopping away. Just like Greg Schiano tells his RU football team. It was great to see Rutgers do so well this year. I've been making it to at least one game each year with my friends a couple of years before Schiano got the job. It's really amazing how he and the RU athletic staff has turned the game around there. Jersey high schools have always produced some of the best football players in the country. Joe Theismann, Phil Simms, Drew Pearson, Ron Dayne, Kenny Jackson and so many more. Bill Parcells and Vince Lombardi are famous coaches from Jersey along with I think the soon to be famous coach Greg Schiano. If RU can keep him and the kids in the state you'll see many great seasons of RU football to come. I just hope I can get to go to a game next year. If they keep winning they won't have enough room at the RU stadium. It only seats 45K fans. But there is always the Giant's stadium.
Here's a good interview with Schiano about this year and the next to come.

You know Rhonda, I think that's the same thing Jeffery Dahmer told the cops when they raided his house.
