Need I say more. I just have to do better. I have lost and regained in between 20 and 45 pounds for the last decade. I am just ready to get it done. I am choosing lc because I am currently deployed and have access to a chow hall that always has meat and veggies. I know that this way of eating/life will be easy to start and continue here. Soooooooooooooo I have several months to get on the wagon and stay there, to include exercise.

Okay so today is day two and so far so good. Baby steps. The only bad thing is I skipped lunch. As said before I am deployed to Iraq and have to eat at the chow hall. I woke up and went to breakfast and then it was raining too hard to go for lunch. I ate a good dinner. Here is what I ate:
B - scrambled eggs and bacon and one boiled egg
L - too rainy
D - hot wings(no flour coating) and collard greens a couple of bites of italian sausage.

I know that I didn't eat enough carbs but tommorow I will do better. I am going to register fitday so I can track my carbs better. This is so much better already, I am not eating all the stuff they give us. I am going to stay strong. I was a devoted member before, my name was Kameron/Kameron2 but since I am not at my email at my base in the states I can't get that password. Oh and my pic was a pictured photo today, I thought that was so cool. It was the smallest I have been in 15 years. But of course I gained it all back. I kept it off the whole year my DH was in Iraq but once he came back on it went. I am so determined to make this lifestyle change this time. I have a good friend who lost about 30 pounds and has kept it off for around 8 years. He eats off plan for special occasions but always goes back on and works out everyday. I am going to join some challenge clubs and plan on journaling everday or even more if I have too. I am so happy to be back on and can't wait to connect with some people, old and new:great:

Kameron, welcome back to low carb. It's gotta be tough eating where you do. Do you get enough variety to make this work for you?

Hope you find much success on your low carb journey.

Yes I hope so, they always have tons of fresh veggies and cooked veggies as well as meat and lunch meat and tuna everyday. We shall see because this is the only eating plan that will work here.

LOSING WEIGHT AND GETTING HEALTHY THE DEPLOYED WAY:

Okay so yesterday was okay, because I skipped lunch. At dinner I was hungry but not starving so I ended up having lots of meat and some collards. This morning I was ravenous! So I had a cheddar cheese and onion omelet and a boiled egg and some bacon. I feel pretty good, still waiting for the withdrawals but they haven't come yet. I'm drinkin water, but I am putting crystal light in it. Things here are going pretty good. I miss my DH and DD oh and I found out yesterday that as soon as I get home my DH will be on his way over here for a year. We did it once before and got through it and I know we can do it again. Okay well that's enough venting for today.

Today would have been a good day but I didn't get to eat my breakfast. I was testing and couldn't go get a knife and fork. I'm not going to eat anything until about 1200. So I guess that means I'll use my chicken breast as a snack for tonight if I get hungry later on. I will go to the gym at 5:00. I already have it on my schedule. Then I will go get dinner. Feeling pretty good. Weighed myself with my uniform on and I weighed 194.5, and that's what I weighed when I weighed with my PT gear. After induction I will have 11 weeks to go so if I can lose 10 pounds during induction and then two pounds per week after that, that will be 32 pounds. WOW that'd be great. But even if I don't lose that much, I know I will tone up with working out everyday. Okay I gotta go join a challenge club or something cause I'm getting lonely in here

A journal is suposed to be for yourself so I just have to accept that and use this as my tool for ME. First yesterdays menu
b - none
l- salad with lettuce, cucumbers, cheese, eggs chicken and steak
d - spring medley mix(cabbage and green beans) and left over salad
water drank alot, so much I had to get up at 0500 to pee! I hate that because it totally interrupts my sleep

So today day 4 I started the day with an omelete(cheese and onion) I had to tell them to take it easy on the cheese or they will give you a whole bowl. Bacon and one boiled egg.

L - will be taco salad
d- meat and veggies or tuna salad or taco salad

I was going through withdrawals the other day, day 2, but they are gone now. I just wonder what other ways you can tell you're in ketosis without the strips. They are kinda hard to get in Iraq Oh and for working out I did 50 minutes on treadmill and eliptic machine and lower body weights and abs. Today will be treadmill, eliptic machine and upper body.

Hey Kameron! So, do you have PT each day there? Because that'd be nice if you were forced to work out! hahahaha! Did I read right that you go home in 11wks? Bless your heart. I am so new to the military. This is my first "duty station" with my dh, and I have seen so many young soldiers, 18 some of them, deploy from here. It is sad to me, but I am also filled up with so much pride for them. And I have also seen one return as one is leaving, I know that's got to be tough. Hang in there!! and how awesome is that chow hall?!
re:ketosis, it is kind of gross, but your breath should be worse, and your urine stronger smelling (not so much if you are drinking that water, though!!)

Hey! Thanks for the NIMJ! I am restarting after a 30 lb gain I felt better eating lower carb than when on WW...but it took me 3 years attempting WW and a 30 lb gain to go back to this WOE. But, whatever...

Just wanted to also say "thanks" for defending our country...the only reason we still have our freedom is because of people like you who defend it!

Will definitely be checking in on you!

CD what is NIMJ?????? Yes I too did the WW thing. Check out the journal for either Kameron/Kameron2 or KAMERON/KAMERON2. That will show you how I looked at 169 with a little help from WW. I kept it off for a year but tired of counting and now her I am 26 pounds heavier. So back to the old favorite LC. I chose this one because I know I can manage what I eat here like that and I have access to more food. Thank you for your support it means more than you will ever know. I opened a beautiful card sent from a support website. And thanks for the support on this board too.

Heather:
It is sad to me when I see the young guys here, and I'm used to this way of life. I just hate to think about any of them getting hurt. I know about the French dressing, it just tastes so good when I put meat in my salads. From now on I am sticking to Blue Cheese and Ranch. The good thing is they have packets so I can't over pour! I know I may have stalled myself yesterday I got happy with the taco salad. But it's okay because it didn't cause me to have any cravings and last night I did Chicken, but when I bit it it was sweet and I ate no more. I had also gotten polish sausage done with onion, red and yellow onion. So I ate that and the lettuce. I never knew how good lettuce was with Blue Cheese. My body can stall but with doing right today and drinking all the water that I am plus working out, it will have to move one way or the other. The other good thing is I can't weigh myself everyday, no scale in the room or bathroom. The only scale is at the gym and I always forget when I am there. I am going to try and just weigh on Sunday mornings before I go eat. I have to be at the Chow Hall at 0800 which means I would have to weigh at 0730. This way it will be at the same place at the same time with the same outfit on. Whew I gotta plan. Now I just have to EXECUTE, EXECUTE, EXECUTE!

Okay so after all that I went and ate cookies last night. I did a killer spinning routine that involved jumping off the bikes and doing squats......OUCH Well the ittybitty roommate bought cookies home from work and they looked so good. I felt I DESERVED them, even sat there and said ummmm since I am working out so hard I think I'll have a desert one day out of the week. Well luckily Maggie saved me I read the thread about this mentalily and agree. I deserve to be healthy! I deserve to be a great Mom and Wife when I get back home. My DD also deserves a better role model when it comes to health and fitness. Althogh I am taking home cream cheese and powdered lemonade to make my own desert

They were homemade (cake and frosting) with raspberries on top. I did stop at one, though. Kinda went downhill from there...Lets just say its time to press the reset button.
