Grrrr. What a weekend. Of course the simple task of rebuilding the driveshafts on my truck turned into a 2 day ordeal. 3 trips to the parts store and then still had to order in parts for Saturday night. I got it all done Sunday morning.

Friday night Liz did join me at the gym. I just did a 30 minute session on the cross-trainer. She did an assortment of stuff. She will be joining me there again tonight.
Yseterday I made a good dent in the get in rid of stuff goal. I overfilled my truck and made a trip to the dump. I've given instructions for my son to start gathering all the old motorcycle parts together. That will surely make a sizable impact on the junk.

I haven't been eating bad but I notice that I'm up to 231 this morning. I'm sure hoping that it is just muscle mass weighing more than fat. I do feel stronger and my clothes are about the same. Maybe just a wee bit looser.

Let's see eating for the weekend:
Saturday,
BF- 2Eggs w/cheese, 8oz of Ham, coffee
Lunch/dinner- Carnitas, refried beans, cheese, some veggies, 1 flour tortilla (oops)
snack- 4 oz of Cottage cheese

Sunday,
BF- Ham, cheese, Jalapeno omelette, 4 oz cottage cheese, 2 tomato slices
Lunch/dinner- Crab legs, 8oz of roast beef
snack- about 4 oz cottage cheese

Today,
BF- 4 HB eggs w/mayo & hot sauce

I'm going to cut back on my quantities as much as I can. Try to shrink the stomach some. Got to remember many small meals as aposed to 3 large ones.

Well, Off to another wonderful Monday!

Your story about having to make 3 trips to the parts store reminds me of the guy who was doing plumbing, and was on his second trip to the hardware store for parts. They guy behind the counter told him he'd be back, and he asked what he meant, he told him that plumbing projects always take 3 trips to the hardware store. Well, he showed that clerk - he went to a DIFFERENT hardware store for his 3rd trip!

Have a wonderful Monday, and a great week.

Had a great workout last night. Liz joined me. I even added in 100 crunches. I lowered the weights since my plan is to do every night this week. Just at a lower level.

We got a notice from the storage shed rental that the monthly rent is going up again. That is it. My 90 day goal of reducing "stuff" just got moved up even further. I have until March 24th to get it emptied out. At least that will save us about $100-125 a month. I can put that to other uses. The bummer about this is the timing. My son is tied up for 2 of the next 3 weekends with National Guard activities. And this Saturday we are committed to support an off-road event. So this Sunday will surely NOT be a day of and sort of REST.
I'll be pretty busy the other weekends too.

Last night Liz and I ate at Wendy's. I had a small salad and a small chili. I had noticed some articles on the gym TV's about the "food police" so I looked at the nutrition chart for my dinner. The Blue cheese dressing alone was 480 calories. That was over 2/3 of the calories I took in for dinner. The chili was only 220.

Today, I've had but 1/2 of a chicken breast. I think I'll have a piece of cheese in a bit. Try to keep the intake small but consistant.

My Team is active in doing a major network reconfiguration of our system today. I hope all goes well. Don't really want to miss the gym tonight. :great:

I got "distracted" and never made it to the gym last night. I stopped by the bike shop and one thing let to another... Next thing I knew it was too late for the gym. So, today I have a lunch meeting and some errands to run. Then heading home to pick up Liz and we will both go to the gym. I suggested that TJ should join us. He got laid off again. This time it was his driving record that cost him the job. The company's insurance people go back 7 years. Dam Farmers. He had an accident w/ticket like 4 years ago. So theywouldn't insure him. Dang!
So he is learning first hand about feeling the pain for his actions. So far it has just been us feeling any pain for his "stuff."

At least if he is off work for awhile then Liz can put him to work going thru the stuff we are eliminating. We may just be able to get outta the rental shed quicker than I originally anticipated. :great:

Eating:
Last night Dinner: Chicken Breasts w/salad. (I think I'm growing feathers)
BF today: Salmon w/feta cheese and mayo
I have a lunch meeting today. I think a chef salad will be in order. ANYTHING BUT CHICKEN!

Everybody have a wonderful day!

You said you were eating so much chicken, you thought you might be growing feathers.....

If you grow enough feathers, perhaps you could take up exotic dancing......

Yeah thanks!

Had a wonderful workout last night. Liz is under the weather, so it was me alone. They were selling these packages of 24hr Fitness t-shirts, towel, bottle and lock for $10. I commented that I've been a member since the get go and have never got a shirt yet. Later while on the bike the manager and the counter girl came up and presented me with a nice new T-shirt. I'm going to wear it tonight.

My eldest daughter, Dee, came over last night to talk... It seems that the childrens "basic seminar" is this weekend. There is the ability for the 2 grandkids to attend. If they do this one then the adult version is free to them later. That is quite a savings. I told her "Do It" I'll pay for it. She is working on the 2 to get them to "choose in" GD is all excited. GS is wishy-washy. Told Dee to just sign them both up today. We can get together tonight and convince him of how much fun he will have. :great: What makes the timing so critical is that my GS just turned 13 a couple months ago. The cut-off age is 13. But there is a little grace period. So he can attend this session. KOOL!

Eating yesterday:
Lunch:some Beef Brisket & salad.
Dinner: Cottage cheese and a couple marinated bell peppers.

Todays BF- Cottage cheese

The scale was looking good again today. I'm still up some from last week. I understand that it is surely muscle mass/density. My stamina on the cross-trainer is great. 30 minutes and barely breathing heavy. I did 200 crunches last night. I think I'll up the amount of trainer tonight. Maybe another 10 minutes. I'm not going to up the intensity though. That is what blows out my knees. Moderation is the Key!!

1+1=3

It's going to be a busy weekend...
TJ and I are headed to an off-road race at 4am. We'll be gone all day.
Sunday we are starting on going thru the rental storage. In fact he is going to haul some stuff out this morning. :great:
Also over the weekend my grandkids are attending a 2 day kids seminar. That will include some participation from us on Sunday night.
Whew, I'm tired already.
I did have a great workout last night. Got up to 225 crunches. My energy level is increasing. I'm set to go yet again tonight.

Last night Liz and had dinner with Dee and Stephen (GS). This was to get him a little more excited about the seminar. Liz was exceptionally quiet. She is very controlled around Dee at this time. There is quite a lot of work that needs to be done between Liz and Dee. Not my stuff... Theirs. I'm just there to love both of them.
One thing that has helped me through all this stuff is to be accepting of others the way they are. Sure there is room for improvement in all of us. But is not my place to judge others. I'm giving a little coaching to Liz on these concepts some. But of course it is up to her to find what works for her.
My simple statement in many of these discussions is "You are doing what you do and have problem relationships with others... I'm doing what I do and I seem to have awesome relationships with these same people. Maybe you should consider trying some of the tactics that I'm using."

Eating:
Yesterday:
Lunch- Chicken thigh & drumstick, leftover artichoke hearts, 1 piece of string cheese
Snack- a few spoons of peanut butter.
Dinner- chicken wings, salad

Today BF- 5 breakfast sausage links

Planning on some cottage cheese w/ cranberry sauce to take with me tomorrow. Thanks, Nita!]

That's all folks!

Wow, Tom, that's a lot of crunches! I told my boss that we both are going to have really hard abs, as much coughing that we've been doing! It's amazing how much you use those muscles when you cough.

Enjoy your cottage cheese.

I brought some of the cotage cheese and cranberry sauce to the race on Saturday. :great:

I controlled how much I brought with me. But, still ate too much of what I did. Yesterday, we got started on the shed clearing out. Liz and TJ really stepped up and we got a lot accomplished. Even with that, it seems like still so much more to do. :crying:
I now have 3 pallets filled with stuff that will be going away. We also made 1 trip to the dump with a full load.

Last night was my grandkids graduation from the "Kids Basic" seminar. They had a wonderful time. I would love to staff one of these. Now the 3 of them (Dee and her 2 children) can be on the same page with views. I really hope things for them blossom. Liz and I took the kids out for dinner last night while Dee went to a concert. That gave us a chance to chat with the kids about their experience. It was great.

My eating over the weekend wasn't as god as I would have liked it to be. :(
Hmmm:
Saturday-
BF banana w/peanut butter
snacks- sunflower seeds, cottage cheese w/ SF cranberry sauce
Lunch- packet of tuna
Dinner- ham w/salad.

Sunday:
BF- Ham, cheddar, jalapeno Omelette, some extra eggs that weren't eaten by TJ
Lunch- Gut bomb burrito (oops)
Dinner- some egg flower soup and couple pieces to taste of some Orange chicken at Panda Express

I did get to the gym Friday night. Great workout. Tonight I go again. This wee I'm going back to M-W-F. I have to get things done at home.
Today is my follow-up with the knee doctor. Going to discuss more details about the possible knee replacements and the ramifications of that. I would really like to wait until 55 (5 more years), but is it really worth it?
Tomorrow I have my 1st physical in awhile. I need it completed for my Leadership training coming up. I'm also at the age to start having Prostate checkups too. Not looking forward to that, but a neccessity. My father died of Prostate Cancer at age 72.

Well, I'm off to the races...
Back to the grind stone today.

Hmmm. Been awhile since I posted up here.
Been quite busy this week. I made the gym Monday and Wednesday. :great:
Liz even joined me last night. I went in for a physical on Tuesday and then labwork yesterday. Looking good. On Monday did the knee doc. I will be doing my injections on a 6 month routine. Sounds good to me.
Liz has been having "issues" with her meds. I'm just providing support and a shoulder to cry on until things get on track again. She has changed doctors and he is putting her back on Prozac. This is taking quite a bit of energy from me.

We got alot accomplished on the task of getting out of the rental shed. Sunday made another trip to the dump. Tuesday got my steel shed cleared out and organized 1/2 of it. We also retrieved the shelf units from the rental and put them up in my steel garage. Tonight will be some more going thru things.
I have to up the pace on the getting moved out of the rental shed. I've be asked to staff next weeks seminar. That will take a big chunk out of my schedule. Actually that is good. I get more accomplished under the gun than when I have time to waste.

Eating this week has been all on plan. No cheating at all. I have been feeling good at the gym, so something is working there. I'm not going to bother posting up my menus from the past few days.

Oh yeah, I found a can of pumpkin in the panty last night... Added some Pumpkin Pie Spice, Splenda & Cinnimun (sp?) It was pretty good. Too bad I didn't have some Whipping cream to make a custard out of it.

On other things...
I'm thinking of buying a motorcycle. A Sportbike. Which means getting to work really really fast. :great: I'm also looking at my options on truck and jeep. I'm surely selling off the jeep. The truck is a not sure thing. It has 210K miles on it. I could rebuild or replace the motor. But I'm leaning towards getting a much newer truck with ALL the bells and whistles. But then that would come with a monthly payment as well. Not exactly what I want.

I've got a dirt bike club meeting tonight. I think they are going to try and convince me to captain the next race. NOT!

Have a Wonderful Day!!

Whew... I got out of taking charge of next years race. I am going to provide some support to the leader though.

Got Liz to join us at the meeting. Of course this turns into a blasted marathon meeting. We got out of there at 9:30. Only thing open for dinner at that hour was a Casino Buffet. So we did. uhhhh, I ate too much. Most all on plan. I did have some split pea soup and then the peach cobbler just looked too good to walk by. So sue me!
I'm making up for it by restricting myself to protein shakes today.

I have a field meeting today that will allow me to get to the gym earlier than usual. And Fridays are usually pretty quiet at the gym. Most people are getting ready to do stuff.

This is NASCAR weekend here in Vegas. Looking for all the places NOT to be. TJ will be in the middle of it. His National Guard Unit is doing volunteer work for the weekend at the races. :great:

I'll be busy moving stuff out of the storage shed for most of the weekend. Cyndi also wants me to look at her car. The transmission is acting up. Argh.

Today is TJ's 22nd Birthday. Not sure what he wants to do or wants for his birthday. I have several things that Liz and I have been considering. Most all of which will cost me money. :crying:

Off to the salt mines. lol

When you're all finished organizing your stuff, how about coming and doing mine? LOL!

You just seem to be so much happier lately, Tom, and it sure is good to see. You and Liz are doing something right.

Have a wonderful weekend.
