Default Tom's 2007 Journal

I've been out of touch here since the end of 206. I think it is appropriate to start a clean Fresh New thread for this year.

Many things have happened in my life since last year...
Liz and I attended a 1 week Camp in Northern California. This was the next step in our personal growth. We returned just in time for my TJ's graduation of the 1st class. :great: Boy was he surprised.
Starting tonight TJ and I are staffing a Basic Seminar. It will be quite the experience.

I have fully commited once again to Low-Carb. I had gotten down to a weight of 200 and was stalled there for over a year. In frustration, I tried going back to eating "normal" That was a big mistake. I was back up to 232 last weekend. This week I have been on strict Induction. Also I have gone to the gym Monday and Wednesday so far. I will make it there tomorrow as well. With the Seminar I will be very active all thru until Monday as well. It should help out too. My weight this morning was already down to 230.

My goal is more reasonable now. It seems that my body will allow me to get to the 20-210 region. No lower. And my "excess" tissue around my abdomen and thighs is my fate (genetics). I now accept that (unless I hit the lottery to pay for plastic surgery). So I will get back to 200 or so and consider THAT my ideal weight.

On ME, I'm getting my stuff together to attend the Personal Leadership Camp part of our series. That will be the end of June. This is to help me learn about and take "Leadership" of myself. I am stoked about going. :jumpgreen

Liz and I are doing Awesome! We are working as a team in helping TJ to succeed and someday fly from this nest. We have an agreement to get together next week to decide on whether or not we will restore our existing home or move to a new one. There are many factors to be considered.

I don't know how much I will be able to post here. I'll do my best to participate as much as possible.

I want to thank all of you for the support you've given me in the past. It really helped. :handsome:

Tom! It's good to see you back, and to hear that you and Liz are doing so well.

You'll get there! You have all the tools you need to succeed.

Just got back from "staffing" the 4-day Seminar that I'm involded in... Whew!
I barely ate all weekend. And even kept what I did eat total Low Carb.
Not one cheat.

And it has showed up in the feel of my clothes and scale as well. Clothes are just a little looser and my weight has dropped to 228. I skipped workout Friday due to the seminar. I can assure you I got plenty of exercise. Most aerobic style.
I am skipping workout today not due to doing anything but to allow my body to get some rest. Need to get caught up on some sleep and general rest. I've been getting between 3-4 hours sleep per night for the past 4 nights. 3 last night. I am taking a rest tonight. Tuesday & Wednesday nights will have me "movin" and shakin" again. :bellydanc

Enough for now. Back to work.
More to come later...

You really feel good when you don't cheat under circumstances that you might otherwise do so, don't you? When you're out of your normal element, it's so easy to rationalize eating off plan, but when you stick to your plan, you not only help yourself physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Keep it up!

Now, work on getting enough sleep! Take care, Tom.

Sleep what's that??

Last night was the graduation night for the Seminar I was staffing. I got home at Midnight and then had to deal with some drama until 2am. Aaargh. Life goes on.
I have been eating fully on-plan. Last night I had a NY steak dinner. The waitress brought fries even though I said "no potato." She also brought these great looking dinner rolls. I ate neither. :great:

I haven't made it to the gym since last Wednesday. I've sure been busy enough to make up for it. I was down to 226 this morning. Tonight, after dealing with whatever life dishes out when I get home, it is off to bed early for some well deserved sleep.

I've made a 90-day goal of eliminating 50% of the "stuff" that I/We own. We have a 10X20 rental storage, a 12X24 steel storage garage and a 10X22 steel storage building. Then there is stuff scattered around the house.
I feel that I can dispose of 50% and not even notice it.

Everybody have a Wonderful Day!!
Tom.

The best laid plans...
Didn't get right to bed last night. I did get down by 8PM.
I was able to do a relationship exercise with Liz last night. Very enlightening.

Liz and I went to a Chinese buffet last night. I ate on plan (ignorant or what may have been in some of the stuff). I ate a bit more than I would have at other places, but still not too bad. My weight this morning is down yet another pound to 225. Now wondering what it would have been with not nearly as full of a tummy.

I have quite the weekend planned for TJ and I. Clean-up time. Plenty to eliminate. We are also on the hunt for a dresser for him. He has been living out of laundry baskets and his floor for quite some time. Not acceptable. A little tough to get him to clear up when it ais all over the floor. Just providing some support on his requirement to clean his room.

Since I'm going to be very active over the weekend, skipping the gym until next week. I might sneak a trip to get some stepper time in. Just to blow off some anxiety (if the need arises).

Happy Presidents Day weekend!

Question to all: Which President made the biggest impression on YOU? For me, it was George Washington. His leadership of his troops and later this country. His leadership of himself and his Honesty have always impressed me.

Hey Tom....stopped in to wish you and Liz a great weekend.

Hmmm presidents....I think I would have to say Ronald Reagan. His love affair with Nancy was beautiful. Isn't it just like a woman to judge a great president by his relationship with his wife!? But really....a man's capacity to love his wife speaks volumes about his character.

Tom, had to stop in and see you! Glad things are going well. Once a year I donate a truckload of "stuff" to a worthy cause, plus all my business suits, nicer clothes go to a women's shelter periodically. I find if I haven't used or seen it in a year..... I don't NEED it! Have a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by Vickie and Rhonda!
It has been a very trying couple of days. Liz decided to get into her head. I have been supporting her. No need for details.
I have started cleaning out my computer room. It has been a disaster since I moved back in in October. I'm already up to 1 large pail of trash.
A couple more tons to go.

Still eating on-plan... Had steak and eggs this morning with cottage cheese. Bigger breakfast than usual but OK. I had some Kalua Pork for lunch.
Last night I took my granddaughter out for her Birthday. Brought along her brother, mom and TJ.

Well back to the piles.

Success!!

I got the Computer room cleaned out. I even put my Lifecycle back in there again. Just did 12 minutes. :great: Gonna do another set in a few.

I even got Liz over her stuff. It seems that she didn't think her Paxil was working. So she dropped off it. Boy was that a mistake. We refilled her script yesterday.
I'm getting too old for this stuff. lol.

Still eating totally on plan. I'm not even sure if I have had even close to 20gr of carbs each day for the last 2 weeks.

Tomorrow back to the gym.

Hi, Tom. It sure feels good to get some clutter out of the way, doesn't it? It feels even greater to know you've stayed on plan and are sticking with it.

Have a great rest of the week.

Had a great workout last night. Even got in 30 minutes on the cross-trainer. :great: I could tell I was in "fat burning" I can tell by how run down I feel during the workout. So I just push forward. Slow and easy. Consistancy is my key.

Liz and I went out for dinner. I needed something in me substantial. I had steak and Lobster. I've never seen such a small lobster tail. I've seen shrimp bigger. It was a "special" at a local casino, so at least it was cheap.

My weight after the weekend was sitting at 227 today. Not bad. I expected some gain as my muscles get used to being used again. That is still 5 pounds down from a week ago.
This weekend I will be in mechanic mode. Have to do some maintenance on my pickup truck. I have a trip in 2 weeks and don't want any surprises.

Tonight Liz and I are going to see Ghost Rider. I'm looking forward to it. Got to stay away from the popcorn. Maybe I'll bring some cashews and a Amberlyn chocolate bar.

Back to my Wednesday activities.

We enjoyed Ghost Rider. I loved the special effects. Noice bike! :great:
I didn't even buy a soda at the movie. Got a bottle of water. Yikes!
We went to Costco after the movie. Not bad. For dinenr we ate some of the Rotiserri chicken we picked up, in the food court. Liz had a weakness for a churro too. NOT me. Costco didn't have blackberies. That was good. I eat way too many.

Tonight is the gym again. My schedule is a little messed up. I left my gym bags on the floor in the living room. :( I guess I will go home first and then to the gym.
Maybe I can convice Liz into joining me... Fat chance of that happening.
It has been 3 days since I cleaned my room. It is still clean. That is a recent record. :great:
It should be a quiet weekend. TJ has National Guard drill. YES!
See Ya!!

Had a great workout last night. Going again tonight. Tonight will just be cardio and "fat burning" for me. I've noticed a gain in weight over the past couple days. I'm rationalizing that it is conversion from fat to muscle mass. My clothes are a little looser. Liz "says" that she will join me at the gym tonight. I sure hope so.
Last night Liz made some grilled Salmon and salad for us. :great:

This weekend I'm playing mechanic. Got stuff to do on some of my "fleet."
Everybody have a great weekend!
