Carolyn - Gotta love a diet that allows filet mignon! Have a great day!

Rob, I agree, isn't it amazing....
anyway, I made it thru day one
dinner was just as I predicted with the addition of sf jello and a little cool whip... don't usually use it but it is in the fridge and it added a little sparkle to our anniversary dinner.

    today I did water aerobics
and have had two quarts of water already
breakfast was two slices of deli ham, 4 cubes of cheese
3 celery sticks and 3 baby carrots

not sure about lunch- going out with a friend

dinner - have to take a cpr class so I will have to either stop and grab a
salad or take some chicken I have in the fridge at work to satsify me...

    onward ....

Carolyn, hope you & Charlie had a very happy anniversary.

Yeah, sf jello can add a little sparkle to a special meal, without the carbs!

while tuesday wasn't the best day yet, I did keep my "urges" to a minimum....
had to leave work and take a cpr class, didn't grab anything good, but did eat a burger, (with bun) and at the cpr class I had four mini chocholates....
but onward, today is a new day and I am planning on nothing but good foods....
breakfast scrambled eggs and two slices of bacon
lunch will be salad with chicken, ham, cheese, cukes, tomato, avocado. and dressing
dinner will be a filet mignon, salad and maybe another veggie.
    drinking my water....

Filet mignon twice in one week! You must have placed an order with some place like omaha steaks or else filet mighnonis cheaper there than here. Need a second mortgage to afford the 18 dollars a pound.

Good Morning all, I had a great weekend visiting with friends - Friday night one group had a barbaque and we went for a little after work, sat outside under the trees dripping from rain earlier in the afternoon, enjoying being out in the country... then on saturday me and a girlfriend drove out to one of the
little towns - Lulling they have a watermellon thump every year, and visited with another group of friends....couldn't stay long had to pick up dh from work at 8pm...anyway... weekend wasn't too bad,

today I have had two hard boiled eggs, no mayo, just the eggs, two cups of coffee....

lunch is taco salad with turkey taco meat, lettuce, tomato, salsa, cheese, and a little sour cream.

Dinner is rotisserie chicken I picked up yesterday and some salad to go with it....

Rob, We have this big chain here in Texas called HEB and each week they run a Meal Deal special... you buy the main part of the meal and they throw in the sides.... So I bought the fillets (they were already bacon wrapped and cryovac sealed - oh they might have been 3-4 oz steaks each and I think they sold all four for under 15 dollars, then I got free: potatoes (which dh will eat) sour cream, butter, cheese, and some 7-up (again dh's favorite) for free
.... each week it is something else...

    anyway, onward thru the fog,

Working on my food, it has been good, yesterday I thought I was doing good by eating some cherries instead of something sweet, or something I shouldn't until I wrote down the numbers and realized that cherries were so high in carbs... lol, at least i didn't have any white sugar... I kept my calories under 1500, carbs were right at 40, would like them to be a lot lower, would like both of them to be a little lower, will see how I do today...

    Wateraerobics this am,
breakfast was two hard boile eggs
    coffee and cream

lunch is turkey taco salad, with lettuce, turkey taco meat, salsa, avocado,
    a little sour cream...

dinner dh is cooking a roast in the crock pot....

There are no excuses for not eating on plan, I know it, and I am working on it.

Carolyn - ah yes those small bacon wrapped filet mignons! I buy them myself every once in a while. They don't cost so much bnecause they're small but if you figure out the per pound price. OUCH. But heck ya gotta splurge now and then.

Carolyn, I love HEB, but the closest ones to us are either San Angelo to Fredericksburg. My son-in-law used to work for a locksmith company that did all the HEBs, and he was told that they prefer to stay in the southern part of the state, they had no plans to move north. The only one I know of fairly north is Stephenville. I love their produce.

    Just keep hangin' in there!

    my weekend wasn't too bad...
went to the farmers market on saturday and bought some really nice fresh veggies.... made marinated cukes and onions, baked a chicken, baked some turkey thighs and a breast, got in two hours of water volleyball (sat and sunday hour each)
slept a lot during the day cause am having insomnia at night...mmm
working with dr to find something I can take to help with that... so far nothing seems to work - ambien cr - no, sonesta - no, lunesta - not really...

food wise, today is my re-begin.... shopped yesterday to make sure I had what I needed for this next two weeks of eating clean.... and am ready to make the committment, and not just gloss overit... but really work on it ...
    anyway,
one hard boiled egg for breakfast, two cups coffee with cream
lunch salad with hamburger I made over the weekend,
dinner, baked chicken and cauliflower and salad.

    thats it for now

Carolyn, have you ever tried melatonin? You can get it wherever you get vitamins & such. I get it from Puritan's Pride. In fact, our grandson's doctor recommended it for him, because he has sleep issues with his TSC. Beth says it works for him. Doesn't hurt to try it. The other night Dan couldn't sleep, I told him it was the full moon. Anyway, he drank a shot of whisky and took 2 aspirin, and fell asleep in 10 minutes, and slept hard all night. Sometimes a little hootch is what it takes. I sure wouldn't do it on a regular basis, though.

I hope you find what works for you to get a good night's sleep.

    yesterday was a good day....
must admit, eating less isn't too bad... tho I did have cravings last night, I grabbed a slice of roast beef, some swiss cheese, then a couple of cherries - got to get rid of them....
all in all I ended up with about 25 carbs and under 1100 calories

Went to the gym this morning and the instructor wasn't there = so I taught the class, still working on my certification, need to read the book....

today is our annual hot dog july 4th luncheon... I brought sauerkraut to go with the dogs, so I will have two dogs and kraut - no bun, some cukes, and maybe some blackberries, (got them at the farmers market on saturday)
and a sf jello (that way when everyone else is eating sweets, I will have something)

not sure what we are doing tomorrow, will have to check with Dh to see what he wants to do...
    thats it for now

Carolyn, we have a good chance of rain tomorrow. I figure it will be a real good day to sleep in, and then maybe catch up on some of the stuff on the Tivo. Or catch up on some reading.

You mentioned blackberries. I remember when I was a kid growing up in NE Ohio, we had tons of blackberry bushes, we picked them by the gallons. Great big, fat, sweet berries. Mom canned them, made pies, cobblers, stewed them and dropped dumplings into them. We ate berries for several weeks fresh with milk for breakfast. Now my sister tells me the bushes are all decimated from Japanese beetles. Sad. I could eat my weight in fresh blackberries.

I hope you have a nice restful day off tomorrow.
