sistaSue, Vic and Lisa!
Hey ya'll! Thanks for stopping in!

Well, I think Lil Ms Kassie is back in full kitten feel good mode! She has been into just about everything this morning, including *helping* me fold laundry...her version of helping is pouncing on the warm, fresh from the dryer clothes, then when I reach into the basket, she attacks my hand. Then she wanted to help me take a shower...reaching her little white mittens under the bathroom door to try to help me with my slippers while in the shower...the list goes on. MCs are known to be *helpers*...LOL! She has also started carrying her toys around the house in her mouth, much like a puppy. She took her little feather-mouse and put him in her water bowl this morning! Oye! She is definitely keeping her ole mom busy! Now she is helping me with this journal entry...pulling on the mouse cable...hmmm...smart baby...at least she knows it's a mouse! ha!

SistaSue...good to see you were online at LCE this morning!

Vic...true cat lovers are far and few between, don't you think? It seems to me, that more people have dogs these days...like Lisa! I don't dislike dogs, don't get me wrong, but with our lifestyle, a cat is a better fit. We had the most personable and charming border collie before we moved. What a character he was! Loved that ole dog with all my heart.

Lisa...enjoy your new baby! No chewing problems? Maybe she's outgrown them already! Wouldn't that be wonderful???

alrighty...off to do some errands. The wind is just horrific today, but the temps are going to be in the hi 40s; wind chill is still cold though...blah! I'm soooooo ready to start biking again; hopefully it won't be long.

alrighty then...

Shelley...Kassie is really adorable! I hear you on the "helping." Agnes is a helper too. She thinks she needs to be right smack in the middle of whatever I am doing. She also has a habit of jumping on my shoulders if I lean over at all....makes it interesting if I bend over to pick anything up, or if I lean over the bathroom sink...or even over the bathtub. Now that she's big it can be quite a shock when she launches herself and lands on my shoulders!

I agree that more people love dogs than cats. I love dogs too...but cats can capture my heart more. It's a good thing that our HOA limits the number of pets we can have...i would be at risk of becoming one of those "cat ladies" who has a billion cats!

Check out this place...this guy is a true cat lover!

Vic,
That's an amazing site; what a guy, eh? Wish there were more people in the world like him.

I went to the pet place this afternoon I found from your link. They lady there was very nice. She gave me samples of 3 different dry foods: the EVO, Core, and Taste of the Wild brands. I got the cccute-est little pink kitty bowl for Kassie there also.
Although, the store caters more to dog owners, she did have a good variety of premium, human grade cat foods. Surpriseningly, they are not that expensive.

LOL at Agnes jumping on your shoulders! Our Fu used to leap into our arms from the floor, then shimmy up my body until she got herself position on my shoulder, like you would hold a real baby. Kassie seems to like to *ride* on my shoulder when I'm walking about in the house with her in my arms. Oh, the ways of a cat...
nothing else like 'em! For good or bad!

OK...here's Kassie's new bowl...how cute is this???

Shelley, I think people prefer dogs because their personalities are pretty much set according to their breed, but cats are purely individuals, regardless of breed. Usually no guessing on what to expect from a dog, but a cat - who knows?! I like cats because you can leave them home for a day or 2, give them a little extra food and water, and not worry about them. Dogs - well, you have to find a dog sitter or put them in a kennel, even if it's just overnight. (That's why we don't have a dog.) And we don't have a cat because my husband just doesn't like cats. He's only just tolerated the ones we've had in the past.

That Kassie is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy!

Hey, Nita,
Good to see ya!
Yeah, most folks pick a dog for the personality of the breed, but really, you can pick a cat, to some degree, that way as well. Certain breeds are more aloof, out-going, crave human interaction, etc. IMO, a cat is what you make them, as well. If you spend the time and effort, your cat will return your love and affection just as much as a dog. I also think, to some degree, cats are more intuitive when it comes to *true love* with their human guardians. May be just me, 'cause I'm sooooo much a cat person!

OK...I must be getting a touch of *induction flu* because I'm getting irritated, aggitated, aggrevated and otherwise sick to death of a few folks I've encountered today! snort!
ok...I think it's time for some protein...
off I go.......

Love the new cat dish...it's too cute. It reminds me of Hello Kitty. I agree that cats are more intuitive of genuine love. Misha is absolutely not a lap cat...but when my life was falling apart and I was so devastated, she curled up on my lap every night. She let me cry into her soft fur and talk to her and stroke her...if I tried to do that now she would bite me!
