Shelley - Jogging is an ability that most people have to give up after 50. A good friend of mine has run in the New yrk and Boston marathons as well as many other races and he had to give it up a few years ago. Hope you have a pleasant weekend! (pain free).

Hey Rob and Dix!
Back and leg pain is much better; just a few twinges every now and again. Still not sure what exactly triggered it, but I really think it was the shower cleaning session and not the jogging sprints.

Rob...are you saying I'm to d*mn old to run??? LOL!!! Well....just remember 50 is the new 30! Yeah...I need to tell that to myself over and over and then maybe I wouldn't have root canals, bifocals, squeaky elbow joints, bad heels, and back pain! Holy bleep! Bette Davis was right when she said, "old age ain't for sissies!" LOL!

walked >10,000 steps/78 min/4.33miles/246 cal burn/avgsp 3.26mph

alrighty then...

Hey Shell, I've been concerned about those spasms. Glad they're better today, but still maybe worth a dr visit? Take care!

1 pair of flip flops I got today. I was in a *mood!* LOL!
I got 3 pairs.

I got these speedos like above in black with polkadots on the footbed, and the 3rd pair are speedos and they are a hot girly pink!
Like I said...I was in a mood!
Also scored some adidas stay-dri hi performance capris and shorts
and another pair of kahki capris.

Oh...and of all places...Gordman's had Ghiradeli intense dark chocolate and Lindt 70% dark chocolate; I got 3 bars of each. Should hold me for a day or two......

got the grocery shopping done fairly early this morning. Just finished a bite of lunch and now I need to decide if I want to wash and detail out my car, or go biking. I may do both! Just not real excited about getting my *sit bones* sore for the first time this season...LOL! Takes about 4 or 5 days to get back in the swing of biking.

Bren...hey girl! glad you popped in. Hope you are feeling better. Well, the back *issue* is just a matter of how long I can put up with it. As long as the paresthesias go as quickly as they come, I'm OK with that. Don't like it, but can deal with it, yanno? An MRI is the next step; if surgery were indicated, I don't know that I would go there. With back surgery, you can come out worse than when you went in, so to speak. Blech! Really, with any surgery; a person should weigh the risks vs. the benefits.

OK...it's getting hotter by the minute, and here I sit! Off to be productive or burn some calories, or both!!!

alrighty then......

hey Ms Rhonda!
Soooooooo glad you stopped by! Thinking of you today! Go get 'em!!!

Just got back from walking...STBO! It's already 85 and some towns in OK may hit 100 today and tomorrow!!! YIKES!!! Looks like we may skip spring and go straight to summer...ack! We're never happy with the weather...LOL! Mother Nature just doesn't listen! She is soooo hard headed! har!!

walked 72 min/4.03 miles/226 cal burn(per fitday)/avg sp 3.29mph.
Now an interesting thing...I checked several other places for cal burn; UNBELIVEABLE the difference they give for cal burn for the same activity and same body weight!!!
My pedometer said 378 calories
another site I use sometimes for calculations said 350 calories
Now tell me...what's a gal to believe?????!!!!!!

alrighty then........

Thanks, Dixie. I LOVE power/fitness walking. Really gonna try to see if I can get some running in the mix as well. It may take a month or so...

Rob...well...yanno...it's a cat-brain thang on the higher numbers...LOL. If my brain thinks I burned 350 cal instead of 250 cal, I would probably give myself permission to *eat* the profits, yanno? So, I'd rather accept the lower number and stay on track(and hope for a loss on the scales) than think I was in a big calorie deficeit and maybe eat more than I should, and not get the benefits of actually being in a cal deficeit. Does that make sense??? I just re-read what I typed and went "huh?" LOL!

biked 1 hour/9.37miles/320 cal burn per fitday. I'll take it!

alrighty then...

Back from my Dr's appt this morning. ack! My BP was up a bit...not alarmingly high or anything, but high for me! Could've been the teeth-gritting traffic and @$$hole drivers I encountered getting there...ya think? ha! I have been having frequent headaches and visual stuff lately, so tomorrow is an eye appt, and if after I get new glasses and the H/A's continue, I will most likely get an appt with the neuro Dr. Blah!
It's always something!!! I must admit, the headaches and little black and silver squigglie-thingies are getting old!

Maybe exercise day off today; the wind is horrid and just the thought of walking in it makes the headache worse; not to mention the allergies!
I'm pretty sure HALF of Texas is now here in OOOOklahoma, and what's left of our state has blown on up into Kansas! Oye!!!

alrighty then....

Shelley, just taking a bit to catch up on journals. We were out of state when the weather hit us last week - 2 storms, hail in one, wind in the other. Damage from both. Insurance adjusters already looked at it, cut us checks already, for 3 roofs and the pickup. It's been crazy, both here and in your neck of the woods, too. Every time I hear of bad weather in Oklahoma, I worry about you. And now I have Kassie to worry about, too!

Have a great weekend, and a safe one, too.
