Default 7th inning stretch...will 2008 be my homerun year?

...my 7th inning stretch has lasted far longer than I intended! About 3 months longer, to be exact!
So, here I am, ready to take on the rest of the game...to make it to goal weight this year...hit that really BIG homerun and cross the plate with a big ole smile on my face!

I can do this! I will do this! And I'll keep on doing this!
Yeah, I know, there are a few foul balls every now and then, but how sweet it is when you hit a grand slam! Yeah baby!

This journal will be about the game. Good or bad...win or lose...except I don't plan on losing(at the weight loss game, that is!). I'm pumped up and ready to play!
Put me in coach...I'm ready to play today...
Look at me...I can play centerfield!!!

Oh, and yes, I'm sure there will be some baseball discussions along the way.
We will be major Dodger Fans this year...the godson got signed with the Dodgers and will go to spring training! It's gonna be a good year, I can just feel it!!!!

So Happy New Year to all!!!
The journey is waaay more fun with company along the way...so please, come in and keep me company!!! dance2

alrighty then..

Below is the last entry in my 2007 journal. I want to keep it handy, because I may need to remind myself of these things.

Quote:
OK! It's amazing what happens to your body when you EAT RIGHT and ditch the crappy stuff!
Down 2lbs this morning!!! I will certainly take it and rejoice in it!!!

I was going to reflect on the year 2007, but I am not a writer and it would probably sound like babble.
I will say though, that I feel, for me anyway, that 2007 was a GOOD year. I got some health issues cleared up and that paved the way for some weight loss which I'm extremely grateful for. I think for the first time in a long time, I have hope that I can make it to a certain weight and maintain that weight. I think I have also discovered a few things about myself and I hope that I never forget these things. I also think I've learned to *let go* of garbage, physically and mentally, and the most important one, is probably I've learned to not care what others do or think. Being a slave to someone else's thoughts and acts can eat a person up inside. Yanno, it's a pretty good feeling to be able to say..."I don't give a rats a$$ what you think!" and really mean it!!!
LOL!

Well, I guess this is a reflection afterall. With that, I will close this journal and open a new chapter and a new year. Fresh starts feel sooooooo good!

well...
change in dinner plans...LOL. We got a Earl's Pig Palace BBQ gift card from DH's best friend for Christmas, and DH decided we'd close out the year with some good ole' finger-lickin', lip smackin' smoked bbq'd ribs! YUM-O!!!
2 of those big guys were all I could eat...oh my! I did have about a spoonful of the sauce; I'm afraid it had sugar in it though, darn it! Why can't restaurants like that make some sauce that's sugar free??? Grrrrr.

Oh well, the sauce was the only thing I had today with any sugar in it, so I'm counting that as a victory!

alrighty then....

Hey Bren,
Good to see ya!
Yanno, I was sooooo ready to get back on track. I really enjoyed making holiday treats and even indulging in them, but I just knew this time would be different. Instead of throwing my hands up and thinking of myself as a lost cause, I thought of getting back on track as part 2 of the journey and more like back to normal eating. This time it was more like [holidays= detour] but the 2nd part of the equation is [on plan food = weight loss]
I hope that I can resume losing like I did back during the summer. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if I have reached the
*slow as molasses in January* mode...heh heh!

Anyway...some random thoughts that you so TOTALLY did NOT ask for, eh????

Happy New Year, dear sistaoftheheart of mine!

alrighty then...

THAT is a most excellent attitude, and a healthy one. Really I think you've hit a mental milestone here.

And January Molassas. Nah, I don't believe it. This is going to be your year, Shelley, I can just feel it
