Vickie - I wish they had an option to speak to a human being right as soon as they pick up. Sandy has that Husky fur so I'm afraid to cut her hair in case it causes a problem this winter. I might do it in the spring. That's when her worst shedding starts. Donna - I've mentioned it to him but he just nods. That is an odd sandwich. I used to love PB & honey but cheez whiz? I didn't even know cheese could whiz. LOL Sorry. ![]() Nita - I'm sure there's help of some sort available for him. I'm just woefully ignorant about senior services in my city. I should really do some research., eh? I'm praying for the rain that's coming to be out of here quickly. If that's the case then a walk is probable. supposed to reach 57 today. Have a pleasant sunday everyone.

| Cheese can whiz.....*groan* We got rain on Friday and all it did was turn the snow to ice. But yesterday the sun came out and at least melted the ice on the sidewalk. Each day is one day closer to Spring. I'm aleady getting tired of walking inside. I need to be able to get the fresh air while walking too.

Thanks Vickie - You too! Donna - sorry! Yes spring will be here before you know it! Today was 65degrees and sunny and tomorrow is supposed to reach 71. But I guarantee you that on January 10 to 15th suddenly deep winter will reae its ugly head. we had a good taste of it last week. one day the high was 32. I walked at Tanglewood 3 miles this afternoon. everyone and their brother was out walking or cycling. It was such a great feeling. I was even able to let the dogs off leash for about 15 minutes.

| hiya Rob! We got up to 75 degrees today, but......it was so windy, it was not enjoyable to be outdoors! I'm talking 30-35mph winds with 40-45mph gusts! ack! Yeah...we'll see old man winter again...never fails, you get used to mild temps, the trees bud out(what's left of them after the ice storm), and then WHAM!!!! major freeze...ice, snow, the whole smoe...LOL! Glad you got a good walk in! Keep on keepin' on! s

Rob, we were up to near 80 over the weekend, now it's 75. It's going to get cooler by the end of the week. That's when we have the county stock show, school will be closed, and there's usually cold weather for that, even if it's been warm the week before. Perhaps they should move it up a week. As far as services for senior citizens, try whatever is your equivalent of our Department of Human Services, where they do food stamps & such, or look in the phone book - ours has pages in the front with numbers for the TX Dept on Aging - so there is bound to be somewhere to call to find out what your Dad qualifies for. Or, do what people here do, they call the Housing Authority and ask what the phone numbers are to other offices. I keep a list hanging over my desk handy so I can give it to them. They figure we should know, and we usually do, since we often deal with other offices. But with your father's health problems, he'll probably qualify for quite a few services. Home health, housekeeper, an electric scooter, Meals on Wheels, etc. It's worth it to look into it. If I were there, I'd be happy to help you find the appropriate agencies. Have a great week, Rob.

Rob, hope your dad is getting along ok. Keep us posted. I think Shelley has made a bunch of us hungry for some good pork chops. We like chops with a bone in, gives it such good flavor. I may have to try one of your cooking methods, Shell. Have a good week, Rob.

Shelley - Thanks for the recipes! Sounds like something I can make soon. bought pork chops yesterdat so maybe tonight? Nita - I really should be more aware of the senior services available here. I recently found out that he is eligible to have his property tax assessment reduced by $25,000 simply because he is a senior citizen. That will save him something like $300 a year. I think of this warm spell asa gift that I do NOT take for granted. Winter Will be welcome when it comes. Susie - I agree! A bone does impart flavor to the meat! My dad seems to be better this week. He has good days and bad. Lisa - I envy you having Roxy at the age she is. It can (and will I'm sure) be a trial at times but the joy sure outweighs that. Weather is cooperating nicely with my walking these past 2 days. walked 3 1/2 miles at Tanglewood park yesterday. The girls had a ball since they were off leash most of the time. Made a rack of ribs for dinner yesterday. so good! Got it on the last day of sale rack for half price. I rarely pay full price for meat these days. They just want too much money. I mean $3.50 a pound for ground chuck????

I can't wait for the weather to grow warm and perfect like where you are. Today it was high 34 degrees and with no wind we walked to ds doctor appointment (only a few blocks away) because we didn't want to waste a nice opportunity. We did wear hats and gloves.

Heather - We got lucky the past couple of days but it's beginning to cool down. today's high in low 60s sounds better than it was. It was threatening to rain all day and not a hint of sun. You'll get those perfect spring days....in spring where they belong. Good job walking! Semi-productive today. laundry. made out and sent in tax return. Tried to pay my car registration online. Failed miserably. will have to go down to the dmv office. only walked for 15 minutes. There must have been extra stinky animal smells at the in town park i walked at. The dogs were dragging me every which way. twisted my back so many times i had to abandon my walk.

After those warm days we had last weekend, we're getting a bit cooler, too, low to mid 60s. We could really use some rain. There have been a lot of grass fires lately. In the neighboring county they called in 12 area fire departments to help with just one fire. So if you get rain, send it our way! Hope you get in a good walk tomorrow.
