| Susie...you're a good mom! The chicken salad sounds wonderful. I know what you mean about going back to work...it's always so hard for me to go back, even though I love my job.

| Susie, I started a thread in the Everything Else forum, so we can post what we're doing to make a difference. Chicken salad - seems like guys really like it. My dh could eat taco salad every night and not get tired of it. Sometimes they make our life easy, eh? |

| susie, happy new year to you, I am slowly getting around to everyone, and hope this year is just what you want it to be.... We have been having green meetings at work, and we have done a little at our house, using those new florscent bulbs where we can.... need to start bring totes with me to sack up my groceries... keep forgetting and keep getting more of the plastic bags, but I use them in my small garbage cans in the house...in the car... to help me deliver my avon products or books, so I re=use them as much as I can....onward... I am getting back on track after my birthday on monday...I too have a hard time not putting any kind of sweetner in my tea and coffee too....but i notice if i am good about not eating sugar, it tastes sweet without anything in it.... oh well... will have to work on that one... take care, carolyn ![]()

| Hello dear friends, thanks for the visits. Vickie, I'm pretty much a push over when it comes to doing mom things for my boys. Nita, my gang loves taco salad, another guy thing maybe. Carolyn, nice to see you back and with renewed motivation. That kind of enthusiasm is wonderful for all of us. SistaShell, nice that you had a good phone call. So many times when the phone rings it's one of those darned telemarketers. I will be out of pocket for the most part until Monday. Our boys are heading back to college on Sunday after the Colts game. DH is off this weekend and we have some final plans before they go back. Keep the light on for me. Have a fun, relaxing weekend everybody. Last edited by Kumus; 01-11-2008 at 03:15 PM. |

| Renee, we did have a nice weekend, the time went quickly. Nice to see your smiling face here, come back as often as you can! Shell, always nice to see that a sista is watching out for a sista. Had fun with the family, now it's back to real life. Nita, thanks for stopping by. Now that the boys are back in school it's time to really tighten up my program and get to business. We're starting the week with a big plumbing ordeal. Major clog between kitchen and utility area. I'm thinking the plumbers will take care of the clog and then tell us we need to redo some lines, etc. Our home has some age on it and some of our neighbors have already walked through this same situation. Ugh! I dread thinking about the $$$ or $$$$ involved. The Colts lost yesterday to the Chargers, no chance of back-to-back Super Bowl wins. Yesterday was their last game in the RCA Dome, sad to see that game be a loss. Don't know if Tony Dungy will return next season. He is a class act, we hope he comes back to make it season seven. Dental cleaning today and my dentist and I decided it's time to crown one particular tooth that has been aggravating me. I hate crown preps and how long you're in the chair, impressions, etc. Oh well, that's the price you pay for being 40something. Had a little snow and ice on the ground this morning. Cold temps for the next week or so with another forecast of snow Thurs-Sat. It's the middle of January (can't believe that either) and time for winter weather...I suppose. Every year I'm liking cold temps less. Going Green news~ this is another thing DH & I have been doing for quite some time. Using the same coffee cup and drinking glass for the entire day. Mind you, if we're sick we change that rule. Another green idea is to try and use "paper" plates if you must use disposable plates. I'm getting completely away from styrofoam as much as possible. Used my reusable grocery tote bags at Kroger on Saturday, glad I remembered to take them in! |

| SistaSue, Well RATZZZ on the dental and plumbing hassels...ack! Sounds like you and I are almost in the same boat with the crown thing. They did my prep work last Weds, and I'll for the the permanent on the 29th. This is the continuing saga of a previous root canaled tooth...some 20 years ago. Guess it's better than being toothless, eh? LOL! Yeah...I didn't like the msn sports line..."Bolts shock the Colts"...or something like that. We were definitely cheering for the Colts. At least the other Manning son is still alive with his Giants. We were cheering for the Giants as well. Don't know if the NE Pats can be beat...but upsets occur, so we'll find out in a few more weeks I guess. Off for another cuppa green tea and some play time with KK (kassie-kitty). She's a ball of energy, I tell ya! If we humans could only borrow some of that energy... (((sistahugs))) sss

| Hey Shell, yes I had to work today and tomorrow and Thursday. Working an extra day this week. Busy time of the year for me, plus an unexpected priority rush project from one of the docs today. Definitely will miss my Wednesday off. Yeah, I'm spoiled. At least Eli Manning is still in the playoffs. DH & the boys really like the him, too. We'll be pulling for the Giants, hoping they do well. We're just not big Patriot fans, for a lot of reasons. Plumbing ended up being $$$ this time, but there is a $$$$ job looming in the not too distant future I'm afraid. Back to nice quick drains. They made a terrible mess, but DH was home with them this morning while I was at work, so he took care of all of that. Bless his little heart. I've decided to make a "no sew throw." Shell, have you ever made one of these? Got a particular one I'm wanting to do. They are offering a class, but a co-worker told me I didn't really need the class. Just thought it might be fun. I thought your DH prolly made the scratching posts. I enjoy reading about your new baby. Gonna hit the shower, put on warm jammies and I'll admit I'm gonna watch American Idol tonight. Don't know how much of the auditions I'll watch or any of it as a matter of fact. I'm pretty much over AI. We'll see. Making something called blasted chicken. I think it will be pretty tasty. I'll post it in the "Not a recipe, exactly" thread. Later! |

| sistaSue, Well, bummer on working on Weds too! That will make your week seem long, I bet. I know when I have to work more than 2 days it makes me crazy...for a lot of reasons, which you know of which I speak. Yes...I'm intrigued by *blasted chicken*...LOL. Can't wait to see the recipe. On the no sew throw, I've seen the technique and the end result, but have never done one myself. I'm actually thinking of making some applique' Valentine jackets. My GF in Denver says they would sell like hot cakes. I could probably crank out about 6 or so before Feb 5th or 6th. We'll see. Ditto on hittin' the shower and the flannel jams. I love, love, love my flannel jammie pants...I think I have about 4 or 5 pair of 'em, and they just get better with age...the more faded they are, the softer they are! hehe! over and out for now! (((sistahugs))) sss

| OK, I see you added something in there about the throw, Shell. I love those things, so cuddly and warm. If you make the jackets, you'll have to post a picture for us. I'm heading to bed here momentarily. Early wake up call in the morning. |

| We get people in the shop all the time who are making those no-sew throws and want to have a name or a saying embroidered on them. A young man came in yesterday with one and he was sooo embarrassed to tell me that he wanted me to embroider "Your love keeps me warm" on it! I thought he was so cute to do that! have a great day Susie
