| The kiddos are our great-nephews and we have such fun just watching the two older ones play. I love rocking the baby, he is so tiny and precious. Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Day two of incredibly low temps and I still haven't ventured out. With the RA flaring the last few days, I figure that wouldn't help matters. I planned ahead and ran a few errands on Friday. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer and then snow is moving in Monday night, Tues. morning. Rob, I managed to post the recipe for the Hot Chicken Salad in the cooking forum. I made it yesterday for lunch. DH took it to work yesterday and the rest today. I only got one serving. Oh well, I made it FOR him. I'm glad he liked it so much.Keeping up with the playoff games, hoping San Diego wins...not looking good. We're pulling for the other Manning brother and his NY Giants. TTYL |

| Rob, I do believe Hot Chicken Salad is maybe my DH's favorite casserole type dish. I think you'll like it. SistaShell, I've been really busy today, had to run some errands. With the temps being so cold this weekend, I didn't venture out so I had to make up for lost time. BTW, check your email. DS1 bought a pair of Nautica pjs right after Christmas, DH liked them. Bought DH a pair a couple of weeks ago. Scored another pair for DH at TJMaxx today and they were marked down...again! Also picked up a nice set of small glasses, they are square and fit nicely in your hand. Giving up sweetener since the new year has gone very well. Helped to knock sugar cravings big time. DS1 has been trying to convince me to give up AS because it's a chemical, health reasons, yada, yada. I drink my coffee black so that wasn't an issue. It's the Diet Cokes, iced tea. Now, I only drink a diet drink for on occasional treat. They are calling for 2 inches of snow with sleet or ice. I've already spoken with the office and let them know if there's a lot of ice, I won't be coming in. I can't take a chance on falling. Waiting one day won't make a bit of difference with my work there. I'll be up early in the morning checking out the weather. The snow I can handle, the ice I cannot. Until next time... |

| Hey Susie...good job on giving up artificial sweeteners! I have also given them up. Now when I want a sweet drink I add about a tbs of lemon juice to a big glass of water and sweeten it with a little stevia. It's not full on lemonade but it's enough flavor to be a little treat. I read that Coke and pepsi are both investigating using stevia in their products. There is a diet soda alternative on the market here now that is sweetened with stevia. They call it a supplement because stevia isn't approved as a food product here yet but it's legal as a supplement. I haven't tried it and it's expensive...but it's a start. Here's the website if you're interested at all https://store.zevia.com/?gclid=CPyc1...FRdPagodZwzVFw Have a great day

| Vickie, very interesting product. No phosphoric acid, that's a good thing. Have you tried it? I love lemon water and have made those lemonade drinks and love 'em. Thanks for stopping in, I enjoy what you have to say. SistaShell, I had a safe drive to work. Mother Nature had mercy on us. Very light snow and thin ice in small patches. No problems getting into the office. I am bushed. Heading to bed. Supposed to be bone chillin' cold again in the morning. Working tomorrow. Food plan is coming along well, giving up the AS is a success for the most part. I really stop and think about having something with AS before I just have it. Most of the time I'm fine without it. I'm amazed how sweet regular foods are beginning to taste to me. Like English walnuts for one! Hold down the fort, I shall return. |

| Hi Susie...I haven't tried the "soda." I have only read about it and thought it sounded interesting. I'm actually doing ok without soda now that I've given it up. I find that I don't really miss it anymore. I'm curious to find out what kind of differences I'll notice now that I have given up artificial sweeteners.

| Susie, be careful out there! People who don't have arthritis just don't understand why we are so careful when it's just a little icy. And that stiffness from the cold sure doesn't make us any more sure-footed, either! I haven't yet given up sweeteners, but I am trying to cut way back on them. I even had 2 cups of hot tea yesterday w/o sweetener, and it didn't kill me. Perhaps this is a route I need to take, too. Perhaps I can get rid of this sweet tooth once and for all. Stay warm! |

| Hi you! I know what you mean about AS, its one of the main reasons I'm giving up diet sodas. I hope you're having a good week. Talk to you soon. |
