Heather - i used to do that too! Reading cookbooks like they were novels. At one point I owned over 250 cookbooks but I gave a bunch away (mostly low fat ones). I know you'll get to goal on time! Have a good week!

Thanks Rob! The scale looked good today but I was having mirror issues. I would have given a kidney to weigh this at my heaviest and now I'm unhappy with just 10 pounds. Spoiled brat I am. I will get there soon and then need to work on my brain because it obviously hasn't caught up with what I look like. I still feel 100 pounds overweight at times.

Keep movin' and groovin', kiddo! You've been such a great inspiration to so many. We've needed you in the past, and if you need us now, that's why we're here. Maybe you need to find something that gets you more excited than food! Start a new business, become a pole dancing instructor, get your personal trainers license and create your own boot camp for moms! Food is what we turn to when something else is wrong, so make everything right and you'll be too busy to be thinking about food. Yes, easier said than done, but it does work. A baby learns to walk by holding on to chairs and tables and pulling themselves up when they fall and they just keep trying. Keep trying!!!!

Hi Heather,

Trying to get caught up on reading some journals.

We had a big snow storm yesterday so it is all white and beautiful outdoors.

Hope your family are all well and you are having a great week.

Heather, those of us with food issues, and with weight issues, (and mirror issues, which I have frequently!) will always have these issues, it's something we just need to accept, it's just part of us. I'm afraid that those who have gastric bypass surgery, or lap band surgery, often go into it expecting major life changes with their rapid weight loss, and then find that they are still the same person, with the same issues, just thinner. If I ever get thinner (right now I wonder if that's ever going to happen!), my only expectation is to be able to wear smaller clothes. And perhaps have a better measure of health. I'll always have food issues, and I'll always perceive myself as not the ideal weight, size, shape, I'll always hate my hair and the large bags under my eyes, but short of extensive plastic surgery, I guess I'll learn to live with what I am, and learn to love me for what I am. That's all any of us can do!

Didn't mean to preach to the choir, or hijack your journal. I think you are doing a fantastic job of maintaining a good weight, even if you feel you need to lose another 10 lbs. You have far exceeded most people's expectations, you've succeeded in losing steadily, and keeping it off, and being a marvelous example for the rest of us. And you aren't stingy in your praise of others, even when you are having your own issues. All of us in this community really appreciate you!

I'm looking foward to 5 weeks when I'm done with weigh in's at my diet center. I feel like I'm all about exercise, the evil scale and food focus. 5 weeks I'll have this last 10 pounds gone and I'll be able to focus on my health taking one day at a time. It'll be sweet to not have pressure of #'s be in my every thought. This doesn't mean I'm going to blow my diet, I plan on sticking to it BUT the weight off the scale seems to be #1 in my life right now. It's draining when as a woman the scale fluxuates so much. 5 more weeks.....

Niki - You are funny! Pole dancing instructor... I'm so shy I would run out of the room crying. Or maybe the wild Heather would come out? lol Thanks for the advice because I need to start using food as fuel and not view it as an enemy. Seems like I focus so much on what I can't have or how much I can't stuff inside that I don't look at how good I'm feeling with my choices. Thanks for reeling me in.
-
Sweet p - It's been cold here too. I'm looking forward to walking my kids to school again. Thanks for stopping by!
-
Rob - Thank you for encouraging me.
-
Nita - Yes! Loving yourself is part of happiness. I'm just wasting my life away with that scale of mine. The happiness needs to start now.

Heather, trying to visit a few journals. I can feel that you're in an uncomfortable place right now, we've all been there. Some great advice here from your friends, something all of us could use. Hang in there kiddo, don't be so darned hard on yourself. Learn to love and appreciate all the wonderful things about you!!!

Boy did I get in some great exercise today! Where did all this energy come from? Nice to recover fully after being sick last week. Helped that the weather was halfway decent today. Going to get cold tomorrow and Wednesday but then be sunny 30's/40's the rest of the week. Can't wait!

Thanks! The refrigerator is calling to me because I'm tired searching for energy. My 4 year old didn't want to sleep. I'm wondering if he has ADHD like his big brother. Today I'm going to take a nap when I can, when the kids lay down and then get some pampering in as well. Thanks for visiting me! I really needed to hear what you said. As silly as this sounds, if I can lose 150 then you can too. Take care!

Heather - I seem to lack results when I am not entirely focused on this woe. i know that's not the way it should be. I have a friend who every time he ate had to do something physical afterward. as If the food was actual fuel. Of course this was when we were college rommates and now he struggles with his weight despite still being very active. Getting older stinks! You're doing great! Have a good day!

Heather, for some reason it just jumped off the page at me that you have lost 150 pounds!

That is simply amazing and absolutely inspiring. I applaud you for that, you should be in People Magazine.
Congratulations, Heather!!!

Hello, Heather. Wanted to stop in and say Hello.

I know a lot of times, it's easy to end up focusing on what we feel our perceived shortcomings are instead of focusing on all we've accomplished.

Be good to you...
