| I have a problem making friends with the right sort of people. I keep to myself because I always choose those that steal, lie, hit on my DH.... I don't get it. Have the same problem with guys. DH was the only decent guy I have ever liked. I really liked him at work but remember feeling that this guy is to good for you Heather and would never look twice. He kept coming over to talk to me but I left thinking of course he wants to hit on my cute friend so I should leave them alone. Thankfully his coworker said enough and came over and said "look...that guy likes you but isn't sure you like him. Would you date him?" Of course I said yes!! Anyway, my neighbors have said they are moving. I really like them and learned that the DH has been trying to get into the apartments but can't because we have rules when applying...no criminal record and no bad credit. Apparently he has both because he just got out of prison. You know? I still like them and want them to stay. This other guy that was just in the laundry room is suppose to be here but gives me the creeps and makes me want to run everytime I see him. Even his wife makes me nervous. This is why I am a hermit! |

| Heather, you just never know about people. We allow people with certain criminal backgrounds, depending on what it is, how long ago it was, if they have completed some sort of education (drug rehab, anger management, etc.), but we are really wary of those who just got out of jail. We have a responsibility to the rest of our tenants, as does your apartment complex. Now as for the guy in the laundry room, you can't always screen out the creeps. I have some tenants that give me the willies, and even the maintenance men sometimes tell us that a certain resident is kind of - you know, they have a gut feeling about them. But if they don't have a criminal record, there's little we can do. Just having an intuition isn't enough. Sometimes you reach out to people, think they will be good friends, and you get burned, but you still need to try. And people do change for the better. Honestly, some do. Be cautious, but keep trying, you'll find good friends. |

| Did manage a quick run to Target today to get a few things for Easter. Some plastic eggs filled with candies, egg dying kit, some cupcake ingredients, a skateboard for Jay and some hollow eggs with a peep inside. It's such a fun holiday. Need to find something special for Charlie too along with a nice outfit to wear to church for them that day. We usually go to DH parents to find eggs too. Their eggs hold money! $$ Wish they let me find a couple of those golden eggs - lol. - Rob - Yes! I'm hoping it will be gone before next week so I can get back to my love - the gym! I just signed up a few weeks ago before getting sick. lol - Nita - I'll keep trying and until then I do have my sister. It's nice to have one person I can call anytime just to talk and she wouldn't be annoyed. I think we all need at least one person like that. |

You got us, too, Heather. I know it's not the same, though. I like your little redheaded giggler that you added. Hope you are having a great week and have an even better weekend!

| Hi Heather, thanks for stopping by my journal the other day and for the support. It sounds like you've got lots of support in this community and with your sister. I read your journal yesterday regarding your concerns about making friends and I didn't know just what to say then, but after some thought I'll add my two cents worth...it's my belief that people cross our path for a reason...sometimes it's for our benefit, but then sometimes I think it's for the other person's benefit. What do you think? You sound like a warm and caring person...it's probably just what some of these people have lacked in their troubled lives. Of course you've got to "go with your gut" and stay safe, but you're probably a blessing to them :-)

| Heather, I know just what you mean about people. I keep to myself and have my sister who I talk to every day. Between that, work, the DH and DS I think I did good. That is enough for now! ![]()

| Heather, being a mother, you cannot be too cautious. I always have believed my "first impressions" are the correct ones. 99% of the time that has held true. While I am in my 40's, I probably cannot relate to your needs as far as friends. However, I am a home body.... single parent with children, so my life begins when I return from the office to my home. Guess I have always been that way. I adore coming home and rarely leave once my car is parked in the garage. Can you say...... hermit???? In any event, just wanted to stop by and visit you for a moment. Dinner calls. Take care my special friend. |

| Hey gang!! It's so wonderful to see so many visitors. You all mean so much to me. What would I do without my LCE friends? I would be terribly lonely and bored out of my mind I'm sure. Before I found you all I ate A LOT, cleaned, spent time with my family and slept a lot. You all have been good for me in many ways with the encouragement I receive here and the support. Thank you! - Heather - Actually you all mean a lot to me. I've often thought that my struggles with weight has brought the blessing of my friends here. What did a housewife do before Internet friends? I would be so lonely without you all. I love my family dearly but this place has been I guess you can say a sanctuary many times. - Sherry - Thank you!! I really believe the same thing...we meet people for a reason, no such things as coincidence and things happen for a reason. I guess the choice just needs to be mine on how I handle this time in my life. I think I should be more positive. My kids are young and I need to spend as much time with them while I still can. One day it'll be their friends that they'll look to and I know how much trouble I once got into listening to my friends. - Mab - Yes! I was thinking if I did have friends to hang out with I wouldn't have the time I need for my family. Yes, one day my kids will be out with their own friends and family and I'll be able to play with friends too. lol - Rhonda - Hermit doesn't seem so bad especially when there is kids. Being boring is where are kids learn stability from the structure right? Thanks for stopping by and encouraging me. |

| Hi Nita! - Thanks Heather and Nita on compliments on the cheerful girl in my signature. - Rob - All the more I would ask for is zero carb/calorie powdered donuts and peanut butter. Then life would truly be complete. lol |

| Hey Mab! Oh yes, I'm really loving the Biggest Loser season. I think Brittany is so pretty and is going to look like a model. Can't wait until the finale. |
