Donna, I think our scales are in cahoots with each other. Mine showed me up the lb I'd just lost. They are just a bunch of stinkin', lyin' hunks of metal and plastic, why do they cause us such angst?!

I'm so happy for you - your daughter seems to be holding her own, I hope this lasts.

Take care.

I can't believe this!!! My boss came into my office this afternoon and gave me a raise!!! I'm positive that when he had his brain surgery they must have tweaked something and made him human!! Of course, I said thank you and took the raise. Can't wait to see what a difference it will make when I figure out what my take home will be. We sure needed some good news.

Nita: I'm determined that stupid scale will move. This evening I was so damned tired it was an effort to lift my head. I could have easily had a nap but after I had the dinner dishes done I went downstairs and exercised for 1/2 hour. I do have more energy now! Maybe I'll finally get a good nights sleep tonight.

Rob: Have a "goof" weekend? lol Many times I feel like a goof for sure. Thanks for the congrats. I'm still feeling pretty good about getting a raise. It's been 5 years since I've had one. Probably taxes will take most of it, but it's the point right?

I dragged my sorry butt downstairs again last night. I was so tired when I got home from work it was an effort to even keep my head up. But, I knew if I didnt' exercise I wouldn't go down there again. The thought of the money I spent on that treadmill sent me there too. So, I did the backside of the record I started last night and then got on the treadmill.

I was positive the scale would be kind to me this morning. Nope. Another lb. up. I have no idea what's going on. I'm almost desperate enough to think about trying some other woe. This just does not seem to be working for me. If I eat something new that other people just rave about that is lc...I gain weight. HeJJ, I gain weight if I eat a one minute muffin and other people eat 2 or more a day! This is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast: 1 homemade lc english muffin (2 carbs)
1 tsp butter
1 tsp. peanut butter (natural)

Lunch: Chicken caesar salad
tea with 1 splenda

Dinner: Chicken in pizza sauce with melted mozarella (thanks Rob)
brussel sprouts
salad with 1 tbsp. three cheese ranch dressing

Snack: 1 Diet Coke
1 weiner
1 piece cheese
about 7 bottles of water during the day

Looking back over this I can't see that there is anything that would make me gain. Unless I'm gaining muscle....that's a possibility.

Donna, you might not be eating enough. Check your total calories (try Fitday or some other program). Your carbs don't seem to be out of line. If we don't get enough to eat, our body can rebel and our metabolism slows down. You have to have enough fuel to function. Some people start losing when they add some more fat, others if they add more veggies, and some if they increase their protein.

And you surely could be gaining muscle. Try measuring instead of weighing for awhile. (It's advice I should probably take, myself, but it's so much easier to jump on the scale than to wrap that tape measure around my middle!)

Perhaps we'll find that magic formula that will see the pounds flying off. If you find it, make sure you let me know, OK?

You'll be the first one I let know Nita, if I figure it out. Never thought I'd see the day when I needed to add "fat" to my diet. I'm also going to stop at the drugstore on the way home and get a good vitamin supplement. Gotta be a reason why I'm so tired!!

Donna...if i did not take my B-Vits...I would be useless...try a B complex for stress and a B-12 for energy...works for me during the day...but at night I just fall into bed..maybe crashing from the b-vits...don't know..I saw in my journal where the scale is not budging for you either..I am seriously not going toweigh until Monday...see what happens.

You have a great evening!

Donna - LOL@goof weekend. I think someone comes in and switches the letters on my keyboard. Often an increase in exercising comes with a weight stall. muscle increases mean there's more water stored I believe. Not 100% positive but it makes sense. Have a good weekend!

Okay Rob...I'll believe your reasoning. Sounds better than the fact that I'm not eating good. The scales did drop a little this morning but not enough to make me scream and cry. lol

I got a good vitamin yesterday and took one as soon as I got home. I'll continue on them and continue exercising as well. Sure would be nice to make it through a whole show at night before crashing. Never get to see the endings before dh wakes me up to send me to bed.

Okay...off to do some housework. It's been snowing for over 2 hours so I'm sure not in any hurry to go outside. Supposed to snow for 3 days...oh, joy!

Lisa come on up here and take all this snow if you like. I'm sick of it. I went out last night with a ruler and measured just close to the sidewalk....10"! I know it's even deeper in the midde of the yard where no one has walked. Spring sounds pretty good to me.

Dh offered to take dd and I out for Chinese food last night. I'm on low carb, but I'm not stupid. If there's a chance not to cook I'm going for it. I told myself it was okay cause I didn't get lunch. Right. I'm not even going to post what the scale said this morning. Right after posting this I'm heading downstairs to exercise.

So, it's so cold here today....-21C. That's not even funny. Good news is it's supposed to warm up to -4C tomorrow. Sounds better but not great. Of course, if it warms up it will probably snow again...grrrrr.

Not a good weekend eating wise. I watched what I ate yesterday and the scale went down a little this morning. Just isn't taking the jumps I thought it would with all the exercise I'm doing. I even exercised yesterday even though I fell on my butt on Saturday. I'm sore, but that's not an excuse. My poor toe is black and blue. Could have been worse. I'll plug along and maybe the scale will budge tomorrow?

Donna - -21 is cold! even in degrees fahrenheit it's a negative temperature. Hope you feel better! Chinese food! Man now I'm jonesing for some beef and broccoli. If I buy takeout I immediately mix the rice with the dog's dry food. Ah well I will have to be satisfied with the steak pizzaiola rerun I have planned. Have a great week!
