It's getting so much nicer here Lisa, but not warm enough to be waking outside yet. Good thing I bought the treadmill. It's a good idea to not weigh for a week, but I'd never be able to do it. I have to weigh everyday so I can do my best to keep my weight down. It's not going great but I'm still plugging along.

Todays weight 165.5. I can't even remember what it was yesterday but I might be down a little. I've tried upping my carbs, dropping my carbs, adding veggies, doing more exercise, doing less exercise...nothing seems to be working. I'll just keep plugging along I guess.

I've got the blahs and can't shake them. Tomorrow dd and I are heading to town for a shopping spree. When you're blue...nothing better than to go shopping. Hope it helps, I hate feeling like this.

Oh Rob...you're gonna love it...I bought you the same thing I bought you the last time I was in town but just in a different colour. How do you look in pink? lol

Actually, I ended up with a new pair of jeans and a summer top. I was pretty surprised to see that the exercising is making a difference in how new clothes fit. It's hard to see that when you try on old clothes. I even took a trip to Michaels' with a 40%off coupon and got all kinds of goodies. Ended up with a visit to Chapters for a couple of new books. It was a great day with dd. She's a totally different person now! This is how it's supposed to be spending the day with her. It's so nice to see her being frugal with her money and making sure her bills are paid before she buys herself anything else. She got a good paycheque this time and after paying her rent and hydro she was able to buy herself a PlayStation 2 and a couple of games. She was so excited. Now she's got something else to keep herself busy in her apartment after work. She also sees that when you aren't spending every penny on booze that you can buy yourself things that you've always wanted! We had a great talk in the car on the way in and on the way home. Can't wait until she gets another weekend day off and we can go somewhere together again!

Still nice and warm here and the snow is melting even more. I keep waiting for the other foot to fall and the crappy weather to hit again.

Off to bed. My knees, ankles and hips are throbbing from all the walking I did today. I've trained dd well...she sure can shop! lol

Hey Donna!

Reading the stuff about your grandkids and their parents sure reminds me of my Stepson, his wife and their kids. Apparently, my stepdaughter has been hanging out with them on weekends, and when she does, ALL 5 of their kids (combined) behave better. We are SHOCKED at this since she's the one that has messed up her life pretty badly. But we're happy she's having a positive affect over there. They're talking about having her move in with them. I think it would be a good thing.

Hearing about your little grandson reminds me of when my DD#2 brings her 2.5 yr old over. Oh my goodness, she keeps me hoppin'! The FUNNIEST things come out of her mouth too! We've been b-sitting on Weds. nights so mommy can go to class. I too could NEVER yell at a child! No WAY, no HOW!!!

I hope your milder weather is indication of things to come here in the Midwest! I heard a cardinal the other morning..........a good sign!

Hang in there with your weight..........I TOTALLY know what you are going through!

Hi Barb...thanks for dropping in. I peek in your journal quite a bit to get recipe ideas ... love reading about your crafts too.

I decided this morning to get really serious about this woe. I know the scale didn't like me cause I ate pork rinds last night so it was water gain but....it said 167.5!!! I had the munchies last night and didn't stop at the pork rinds. Must have eaten 3 lc peanut butter cookies, 2 weiners, and a lc chocolate bar. I wasn't even hungry. It was there and I ate it. Stupid!!! Today is going well so far. It's after work and later at night that I have problems. Today has to be a fresh start.

I was outside on the weekend doing pooper scooper duty. Not my favorite job, but if I want critters someone has to do it. Anyway, I did a check close to the house to see if anything is coming up and there is!! Some of my lilies are forcing their way up through the ground. This is way, way too early. Even some of my vines have tiny buds on them. Now, I'm either going to lose everything if we get another frost, which is likely, or it's a sure sign of a very, very, early Spring. I'm hoping for the later. It's another gorgeous sunny day here today. This is so unlike our February weather. More like the weather we used to get 30 years ago. (not that I'm old enough to remember lol)

Yesterday I started entering everything into Fitday. Finished it this morning. I ended up with exactly 20 carbs, 1163 calories, 80 gms fat, and 87 gms. protein. This morning I was down 1.5 lbs. (but I know that was a lot of water gain). So it was 166 this morning. Not good enough! I'm greedy...I want more. So, I guess I'll have to keep at this if I want more. It's time consuming to enter everything, but at least I can see where I am and what I'm eating. It sure looks like a lot of food when you have to enter every tiny thing you eat. I'm not sure if the calories are high or not?

Yesterday our mechanic at work took my car and gave it a much needed oil change and then found I needed front brakes. I got a lecture from him about taking care of my car (I thought this should be dh's job?). So, I got the brake job too. I must say it does make you feel safer to have a little work done on the vehicle. Back brakes have to be done when I have the next oil change. I really trust this fellow...he's been a mechanic forever. I'm so glad he decided to start working on my car. If I want to keep it safe I'll have to listen to him...wouldn't want to be stranded somewhere.

I'm tired today. Had to force myself to do my aerobics and walk the treadmill last night. I got on the treadmill and started walking and started with the excuses...my feet hurt, my knees hurt, I want a bath etc. So then I thought...well, I only need to do 1/2 mile if I have other things to do. Then I remembered what the trainer Jillian always tells the people on Biggest Loser...work past the pain! If I want to lose then I have to work at this...so I did the full mile at 3.4 mph. I'm pretty sure taking an extra 18 minutes didn't hurt me and one day I will thank myself for taking the extra time for myself.

Weight stayed the same today. I didn't finish putting my menu into FitDay yesterday cause I ate too many different things and didn't have time. I had chicken caesar for lunch, but dinner was a hamburger bowl...layers of fried hamburger, broccoli, and salad with melted cheese on top. I guess it didn't hurt me cause my weight didn't budge.

Looks like rain today...that would be good. My car is filthy again and the rain might get rid of some of the dust.

Dd is having an MRI today. The doctor thinks there is something going on in her head (I could have told him that a long time ago...lol). Seriously, he's concerened enough to order the test and she's been waiting months for it. She's very claustrophobic, like me, so she's being drugged before the test. Good thing her boss gave her the day off. Hope all turns out okay.

Back to work...gee, my life sure is boring now...love it after the stress last year.

Thanks Rob...any weekend is a good one as long as I don't have to work. lol

I was very careful again yesterday but it didn't matter. I'm up 1/2 lb. this morning. I know it's water gain cause my rings are tight. If I'd known that, I would have eaten the pork rinds that I wanted last night. Instead I talked myself out of them.

Snow is just about all gone. A little icy snow in the shady parts of the yard but that's it. There is dust blowing everywhere from the rocks and dirt that were put on the road everytime it snowed. As soon as the road sweepers have done their job I'll get the windshield changed in my car. At $300 deductible I'm not taking a chance of getting another rock in a new windshied.

Okay...off to work.

Hi, Donna, just stopping by for a quick hello. Sure glad your dd is doing so well. I love shopping with my girls. They are lots of fun, great bargain hunters!

We're getting spring, too. I saw fruit trees blossomed this morning, irises last week. And it's going to get down to 29 tonight, hope they don't freeze. Just a little hiccup, highs today mid 40s, chance of rain, tomorrow sunny and 66. No wonder we've all been sick, our bodies don't know what to expect!
