Okay....I'm back. Can't believe that it's been so long since I've posted. Just way toooo much crap going on and everyone wants a piece of me and there just isn't enough left for me to be me! Does that make sense? lol I've been so down for the last couple of weeks, but that's going to end. It's a gorgeous sunny day here with no wind so who can be miserable when it's like that.

Easter was good...I got my grandsons for the night. They got to have their easter egg hunt. Poor little Nolyn ended up sick (not from candy). Threw up everywhere including my bed! Probably too much excitement and missing his mommy, who by the way, is finally home....surgery went very well, but she has to take it easy so the skin grafts will take. She's being very spoiled by my son!

I've finally tackled and killed the night monster that makes me eat everything in sight. I refuse to eat anything after 9 p.m. The result is that I'm down 2.5 lbs. I'm still doing aerobics and the treadmill every night too. I've increased my running and speed on the treadmill. And...I'm watching very closely what I eat.

Tomorrow I go back to the eye specialist to see if my retina has been torn. Keep fingers crossed for me!!

Donna - makes perfect sense to me. sometimes we spend so much time caring for others we lose track of our own needs. Congratulations on the dead night monster! And yes my fingers are crossed! Have a good thursday.

Thanks Rob. I've just stopped in work here for a few minutes to tie up a few loose ends and then I'm off to town. It's going to be a full day off for me and I need it. Boss is very understanding...I mean, what cane he do...my eye will be frozen..there is no way I can come back to work.

We've already arranged to meet friends for coffee after my appointment and then dh wants to hit one of the dollar stores for some things for our store. I love those stores!! All kinds of little crafty things I can use for scrapbooking. Then it's off to Michael's. They have the cartridges for my CriCut machine at 1/2 price. Knowing my luck they will be all gone, but I'll try anyway. It's exciting just thinking I might get one. And of course what would a trip to town be without hitting WalMart. My list isn't too long this time. When you live in a dinky little town where there are only a few stores it's exciting to get to the big city for the day.

Scale didn't move this morning but that's okay. Last night was time to take my measurements and my hard work is starting to pay off. Waist is down 1" as are my hips. I just might be able to wear tank tops without the belly roll this year!

Okay....off to town I go!!

My eye is okay...whew! The floaters are still there and may always be...I'll adjust. Dr. said they could possibly just move over to the side and I won't even notice them anymore. That would be nice. But the retina isn't torn which is the main thing.

Got a phone call from dd this morning. She's been fired. Great. I think it's cause she's taken too many sick days...she says she wasn't given a reason. Being an employer myself I can understand that they couldn't count on her with her always calling in sick. I know her tooth was infected and she was in pain but sometimes you just have to suck it up and work when you don't feel good. She's got to understand this. Now I just hope this doesn't set her back and make her turn to the booze again. Just when things were going good! Darn!!

The scale went up a little this morning but I'm not worried. I got into the pork rinds yesterday so I know it's just water gain. Not enough water either.

Okay, I'm off to clean up the work I didn't get done yesterday. Have a good weekend everyone.

Whew! You had us worried, and it's so good to hear that your retina is ok.

TGIF, and have a great weekend.

Glad to hear the eye's ok, Donna!

And on the kids...well, dang. Nothing gives a parent more worries than those kids, I know (unfortunately) from firsthand experience...do your best not to worry about stuff that hasn't happened yet. (Enough does already. Ha!)

Have a good weekend!

Went to town this morning and did a little shopping. Dd was supposed to go but she "forgot". Then we had plans to meet for dinner..but she left a message on my machine that she was "busy". I walked the dogs past her apartment and her curtains have been shut for two days now. She sounds okay on the phone so I'm going to just tell myself that she's busy.

I did well on the shopping today. I was so afraid I would drive to town and all the Cricut cartridges would be gone but they weren't. Such a steal....regular price $117 on for $49. I got two of them, plus other scrapbooking stuff. Also hit Chapters for 3 new books. Also found a pair of shoes for work. After a trip to WalMart to finish off my list I went to KFC and got a bucket of chicken that I dropped off at ds's house on the way home. I know he's chief cook and bottle washer while his wife is recuperating from her surgery and cold chicken is one of her favorites. Thought it would be a nice surprise for both of them. Poor little Nolyn thought he was going to be able to come home with me. Pretty hard for me to just take one of them when all 3 were standing there. Having the three of them is just too much of a handful for me.

Okay...off to have a nice hot bath.

Donna - Good news about the eye! I've had floaters for years and you sort of do get used to them. Hope your dd is indeed just busy! Have a pleasant Sunday!

Got lots done today....washed my car, got all the lawns watered, fixed 2 pair of dh's pants, cleaned out my closet and drawers (1 huge bag for goodwill), cleaned the house and still managed to do 3 pages in my scrapbooking. Trying to keep busy to keep my mind occupied I think.

My worst fears have come true. Dd is back on the bottle. Her friend called me this afternoon and gave me all the details. In my heart I knew it...now she's lost her job and could lose her apartment due to a no drinking clause in the lease. What a mess! Just makes me sick....she was doing so well.

Donna - Good going on the very productive day yesterday! Sorry to hear about dd1. That is tough to deal with as her mother.
Hope you have a good week!
