Any of those little hummers hanging around yet Dixie? I love sitting and watching them, they're so comical. Not that I get much "sitting" time. lol

Dh had a baseball tournament all weekend. Saturday I just about froze. Sunday the weather changed and it was nice and warm. When I got home and looked in the mirror I just about had a fit. My face is totally burned...I look like a raccoon where I had sunglasses on. Probably mostly windburned but pretty sore, besides the fact that I look stupid. I'm really tired today after getting up and on the road by 6 Saturday and 7 Sunday. Then I had to bake last night for a funeral being held at the Legion on Tuesday. Of course they had to ask me to make squares...something I just never got into. I did find a recipe for Butter Tart Squares and made them...after a run to the store cause I was out of butter. Always something! I just about fell into bed at 11 last night after getting everything done including my ironing. Lucky me...tonight I get to do all the laundry from the weekend and I'll have more ironing!

Obviously I didn't watch carefully enough what I ate over the weekend and didn't drink enough water. I was at 169 this morning...numbers I haven't seen for almost 4 years. I now have a 1L bottle of water sitting beside me and another beside it. The treadmill will be calling me tonight too and I'll answer it. I refuse to get any bigger!! I shouldn't have let this happen either. But, I'm going to do something about it.

Did a little shopping on the weekend. Found a gorgeous bracelet for my grandaughters 1st communion. Got everything else on my list except the exercise video I want. So, I came home and ordered it. Should be here in about a week. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd get excited about exercising.

Back to work...

I know I'll never see the day when I get excited about exercise!

Sounds like you are burning your candle at both ends, so much to do! Hope you can have a little down time just for you.

Nita: This is the time of year when I go nuts trying to fit everything in. Until dh's ballgames end in June we just run constantly. I'm a really organized kind of person and it just really annoys me when I don't get everything done.

Got home last night and walked in to the smell of a pork roast in the slowcooker. Gotta love it when dinner is ready and I only have to make a veggie. Wild asparagus went great with the pork.

Then I had the grass to cut, dogs to walk, and more laundry. Then 35 minutes on the treadmill. Down 2 lbs. this morning. Probably water gain.

Yes, Rob, the raccoon face is fading. Sure looked silly though.

Went to dgd's ballgame last night. She's sooo tiny compared to the rest of the kids. But, she's also pretty spunky and tries really hard. The grandson's game that was supposed to be tonight has been cancelled. Whew..thank you, I'm getting tired of all this running.

Scale was not kind today...could be cause we ate at 8 last night after the game. I'm not going to worry about it until tomorrow and push the water today.

I saw the first one of the season yesterday! I was very excited...I have a tripod this year, so I am going to try and capture better pix that I got last year. Since I stand back a ways and use the zoom, it can be trickier to get clear photos. My camera reduces vibration, but it's still tougher with the zoom.

It doesn't sound like you're doing much if any sitting, Donna! Makes me tired to just read about all the stuff you're up to...

Hope dgd loves the bracelet.

Dixie..it took almost 2 summers before those silly little birds even found the feeder hanging near our front door. I was just dancing when I saw one feeding at it. The next week, my cat brought it to me in the kitchen. I could have wrung his neck! There is lots of them feeding this year. In fact, it's strange, but even dh has commented that there seems to be way more birds of all varieties this year.

We lucked out buying dgd the bracelet. Her parents bought her cross earings, her other grandparents a necklace. This little girl is going to be covered in "bling". lol

I have already decided that this weekend I'm going to do a lick and split cleaning on my house and then head out to the nursery for a carload of plants and then get outside and PLAY! It wouldn't dare rain!!! Can't wait until tomorrow now.

Sunday is a combination BBQ for Mother's Day and birthday party for my youngest grandson. Ddil is putting it on...hmmm, she doesn't usually cook, or clean...wonder what's really up? lol

My kitties eye the hummingbirds, too, but from safely behind the windows...I even have a pic of one of 'em licking his chops watching the birds! They are hunters, I suppose. It's funny that yours took a while to find the goods in your feeder. Our feeder got used right away, but we were in the middle of several homes that have them, so I think they knew what to look for.

I haven't any more hummers since the first day, but I think they'll pick up over time. Often, when the trumpet vines bloom and the other homes put out their feeders, we get quite a crew of 'em. So I'm looking forward to it!

Bling, indeed! That kid sounds like she'll be decked out in style!

Donna - I pity the weatherman if it rains!
Get out there and garden your heart out. I already have 2 roma tomatoes coming up. They're the size of a pinto bean but they're there! Have a good weekend!

The weather was cool...but bearable. I managed to get all my pots and 18 hanging baskets made up,and the grass cut. Oh, it looks so nice now to see colour in the yard again. Can't wait until everything else blooms. Lilies are popping up everywhere, the hummingbird vine made it through the winter (I don't think the Jasmine vine did...darn). Clemantis and coming along nicely and the hostas are getting big already. Warm weather is supposed to start tomorrow and into the 30's C by this weekend. Now, I'm getting to be a happy camper! lol

Rob: Thank you! I waited most of the day for one of my kids to call, but that was a waste of time. Dd finally did call and said next time she was in town she would buy me something...don't bother! Ds finally said something to me at 8 p.m. The day was shot by then as far as I'm concerned. Didn't realize I raised my kids to be so selfish!

I have no idea what the hejj I've done with myself but my eating is just out of control. I couldn't stop myself yesterday! I would eat one thing...then sit and try to figure out what the next thing would be that I could stuff in my mouth. I didn't even try to stop myself! At dinner I had potato salad, macaroni salad, garlic bread...and ended with a big slab of my dgs birthday cake. No wonder my heart was pounding with all that sugar. I'm disgusted with myself...there is no way left but up from here..I've definitely hit bottom with my eating!

Donna - Sorry your mothers day was so disappointing. Better late than never as far as your ds and dd wishing you a happy day, i guess. Sounds like emotional eating that you're doing. I know because it's what i do sometimes. of course i do it when i'm stressed also. Have a good week!

Good advice Dixie, I'll try to remember it.

Rob: Emotional eating? You got it! I hold a black belt in emotional eating for sure. I know I'm doing it and don't even try to stop myself...then later I feel so terrible I beat myself up for doing it. You'd think I'd grow up and stop playing these silly games. One day I will win!

I've overdone it on the treadmill and paying for it big time. Hips and knees are throbbing. My mind is much younger than my body and they just don't want to meet. I'll stay off the treadmill for a couple of days and see if the pain lessens. Then go back to it slowly.

Before dh got home for supper last night I managed to cut the front yard grass and then start cutting back some of the borders. Makes a big difference. I need to get more flowers too for the walkway down the front sidewalk. Can't wait for things to start blooming. The furkids love being outside so much. Makes me feel good to look over and see them just rolling on their backs in the grass.

This weather had better smarten up. Raining again today. We leave Friday at noon for our ball tournament and I don't like the idea of camping in the rain. The motorhome is gassed up, water and propane tanks full, now all we need is for the weatherman to co-operate. Come on guys...send some warm weather my way please!
