Default Carolyn's New Life

with the advent of a new year, it is only fitting that I start up a new journal, and call it my new life... since we all know that "diets" don't work, and I am getting ready to begin a cleanse and get back into my world of LC, a new life only feel fitting.

My trip to NJ for the holidays was great, however, I learned that dh is not a long distance (long day) road tripper... he would have been happier if we only drove about 6-8 hours/day (we averaged 12 + in two days) and we could have had a bigger car... oh well,

My 88 year old mom is doing great, giving up her car (maciular degeneration) happening, and she has a good bus/support system around her to get her to the dr., church, pharmacy, etc. alll that she does.... (volunteers at the library)

Out of 11 cousins that I grew up with 7 of us got together for a mini family reunion ... was great to see everyone, and have memories of "remember whens...."

Have gained too much weight, and feeling "fat"....
so I am going to wait till after my birthday on sunday, and start on my new life on monday..

I have started a 100 + ramble in that area, and will probably start a challenge - more than likely the 100 day challenge Nita...

I miss my buddies here, the ones that pat me on the back and pick me up when I fall down.

so Happy New Year all, hope you had a great holiday, and onward thru the food....

Carolyn, it's good to see you home! And how nice that you got to see your cousins and have a sweet reunion.

You just pop into the 100 day challenge on whatever day you want. I'd like to keep it an ongoing challenge, for anyone to jump in whenever.

Great having you back safe and sound.

Hi Carolyn!
Nice to see your new journal.
Reading about your road trip is total reverse for Liz and I. She smokes and had Neuropothy in both feet, so long trips are even longer due to frequent stop.

I wish you a Fantastic and Bountiful New Life!

Hi!! Happy New Year friend. I agree 100%! I feel like I'm going to die every time I start a diet. First three letters in the word - lol - so knowing I'm just taking care of myself through a healthy lifestyle really helps. Thanks for keeping me in check. I need to throw out diet from my vocabulary once and for all.

today I start my new life, I am having two hard boiled eggs for breakfast with a cup of coffee and splenda and 1/2 and 1/2.
Lunch with either be a turkey taco salad, or chicken tenders with some veggie soup (home made).
Dinner will be either some tenders or some roast beef and veggie soup..
Made a great pot of soup yesterday so I can eat more veggies this week and hopefully satisfy my cravings for sugar...but here I am back into my world and not going to stop till I get there....

First steps are always the hardest! But you've got your food plan thought out, you know what you will probably eat today, that's the first step.

Now, soup......my problem is that I can eat the entire pot, all by myself!

It's really good to see you back here, committed to regaining your health.

Carolyn, it's really great to have you back with us. Soup is just the ultimate warm, comfy food for winter. I may make a pot on Wednesday. Our boys are back in school as of today and I am really getting down to business, too.

back in the saddle again...(quick what song was that from)
did great yesterday, carbs were a little higher than I wanted, but i kept calories to 999... and no sugar... wow, was that ever hard, even harder than quitting cigarettes... yes I have kept that on track.

DH is having a problem with his bi polar meds and getting some help... he is still wanting to drink, but it is not good for his meds, so I think the dr. is going to try to get him into some kind of rehab for a couple of weeks, to get him on track....he is currently in the hospital being watched over ... a break for me....he always had a problem after the holidays - his mom died dec 8 about 13 years ago...

Love him dearly but sometimes, I just want to .....

we shall see what this year brings....

fell asleep last night on my chair, then when I woke up i just tossed and turned all night... been very congested for the last two nights, some bug got to me, I know it isn;t allergies, never had cedar (which is high now) bother me...

I have no other complaints right now... I do want toget my office;avon room in order, that will take some time... and energy...a little at a time, I know I can do that.
onward....

Sugar - what a monster! One bite and I'm gone. But we can lick it! No, not that kind of licking! LOL! (Picture an all day sucker here!) We can OVERCOME it!

I wish you success in getting organized. No matter how hard I try, I can never get completely organized. There is always some place in the house that's a disorganized mess. I guess that's just the way I am.
