Dixie, normally I would laugh at that, but....

Whew! I did not get a chance to snuggle the new baby, had my hands full at home.

Boy, I don't know how I survived as a child, we had no air conditioning when I was coming up and somehow managed to survive!

This weekend was wicked hot. We spent a lot of time lying under the fan and drinking ice water. Yesterday we waited until 4 pm and then headed to the pool. Still got some sun burn on my shoulders....We stayed until 8 and ate a light dinner then off to cold showers and sweating in bed.

Everyone likes my "new hair" today. Didn't have the heart to say that it is just a big case of bed head. I took my shower last night, washed my hair and went to sleep. I figured it was clean and that is all I could ask for. Today the girls in the office asked me what I did, did I get highlights? what product did I use? it is cute and tossled....etc. Uhm, yeah, b.e.d h.e.a.d. !!!

Oh well, got to the office and my office was already at 80 degrees. I cranked the office air conditioner down to 50 and if I turn into an ice cube, I have done my job.

Ok, it might have resonated by now, I am cranky! LOL!

Mab, you know murder rates go up in the summertime, don't you? Heat makes people cranky! Make sure any potential weapons are well put away.

I had to laugh at your bedhead compliments. Isn't it a total hoot?

Here's hoping a friendly AC repair person comes into your life soon...

I couldn't live w/o ac! Well, I could, but I'd have to shower 3 times a day.

Your lovely bedhead story is a hoot! If I wash my hair at night, I wake up with it sticking up all over the place, and it LOOKS like bedhead! No "tousled" look for me! LOL!

I hope you get your ac working. One little tip - if you have a box or oscillating fan, wet a cloth and drape it over the front, attaching it so it doesn't blow away. It will make the air feel a few degrees cooler as the air blows through the wet cloth. I've even put a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan to cool the air a bit. Desperate measures!

Hope your Monday is better than the average Monday.

That is funny!! Bedhead is the new IN for hair. Saving money, being in style....sounds fabulous!

On the plus side (is there one?) I guess if it's super hot then you don't have energy to even eat.

Whew! I could survive the no AC if the temps were normal but we reached over 100 degrees yesterday, and are in the middle of a heat wave.

So today, the bed head is not as good....

I got home from work after a 13 hour day and the house was at 90 degrees at 9pm, so DH packed us up and we slept at my DMIL. Except...we did not get there until almost 10. Had to settle my son and then....DMIL got chatty. Ok, here is the deal, she is a lovely woman, she was super nice to open her home to us, and I don't want to chat with her at 10:30 at night when I am exhausted and had 5 minutes to pack up my life, get a shower and get into the car!

She and my husband were snoring away by 11. My son was in a new place to sleep so he was up until midnight....and so was I. Just being a mom. I cannot sleep until he is settled. Never could. Then the freight train I call DH was at it and then DMIL dog started barking. I got 5 hours of interupted sleep. So, bed head, yes! Good bed head, no!

Yesterday I looked like I spent a refreshing day at the beach. Windblown, tan, great. Today I look like I was staked out on the beach and left there in the noon day sun. Burnt, flat, nasty bed head, no make up (I thought it would melt off), and there you have it.

Have to work late tonight and then off to DMIL to sleep again.

My new mantra: I am grateful for my job. I am grateful for a cool place to sleep. I am grateful I have hair. LOL!

It really is! LOL!

If it were really that easy every day, there would be no hair care products trying to reproduce the looks!

I swear it looks like I am wearing two undercooked pancakes on my head today instead of hair!

It is supposed to storm here tonight and the temps are supposed to drop to the high 80s. It will be so much better then!

I don't know which is worse the heat there or the blizzard that came here. Good hair wins hands down anytime though.

{{{{Mab}}}}

Sorry you're so miserable. I'd have been tempted to get a motel room for a few days. But, then again, that's a big expense! Perhaps you'll get your sleep caught up a bit.

It's a shame you can't just put on a cap to go to work, hide the bed head!

I sure hope you get lower temps today, so you're sleeping is better. Take care.

Gee you guys....I don't have a/c at home and our summer temps can hit over120F. We live in a desert area so it's a really dry heat. Guess we just get used to it.
