Doing well!
I have taken my scale off the floor and propped it against the wall so I won't see the front of it.
It is a good thing, to quote Martha Stewart!
I hadn't stepped on it for two days. And managed to stay 100% on plan. Is is a coincedence? I don't care. I'll take it!
This way, I know doing the right thing in and of itself is enough!
Have a fantastic holiday weekend!

Sometimes that scale doesn't tell you how great you are doing. There are days when I give up pie, cookies, fast food..... and then the scale doesn't budge. Don't you wish that for those hard days that for everything you gave up in calories it would show up on the scale plus more for the hunger you went through? Bonus for food pushers trying to talk you in to eating junk? I'd be pretty skinny wouldn't you?

Mab - Good idea about having meals for the week already prepared! Even if all you did was make double batches whenever you cooked and froze half it wouldn't be long before your freezer was full. HAve a great Easter weekend!

I'm excited to watch TLC's "I can make you thin" tonight. Thanks for mentioning it!

Mab, I love to cook ahead for the week on Sat. or Sun. It helps me to stay on track if I have things available when I open the fridge door. I'm a grazer more than a 3 squares a day person, especially on the days I'm not working.

Have a wonderful Easter!

Mab, sometimes I cook big batches on the weekend for suppers and lunches. We have an hour for lunch, it's just a few minutes drive home, and having something already that just needs to be nuked is great, not having to wonder what to cook, and having more of our lunch break for watching TV! (We usually watch Paula Deen and Giada DeLaurentiis.)

Sometimes ignoring the scales is a great thing to do. If it helps you stay focused (even if it's only coincidental!), then perhaps it is a "good thing".

Hi all!

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!

I did a lot of extra walking since we are dog sitting. It is so nice to have company. And my son wants to join me more often so he can hold the dog's leash!

Did not do so well yesterday. Decided to have a "day off" of plan. It was not too horrible, but I feel less than fab today. So next time, I think I will skip that planned kind of cheat. I had ham, potato salad and corn bread for dinner yesterday. To be honest, my husband was raving about how good it was and I thought it was just ok. So not really worth it. Now back to induction.

I have to get on track and stop playing around. I can feel my clothes literally getting tighter. Time to get serious and work at this. Why was it so easy the first time I did this and now every pound is a struggle? Argh!

Anyway, in good spirits and telling myself that I WILL DO THIS. It is just really not that hard to eat all of these good foods and lose weight, so I have to get on track!

Have a wonderful afternoon!
Cheers!

Today is starting out cold and supposed to warm up. Still sitting in a big old sweater even though it is supposed to be Spring!

Had a great walk last night with my puppy friend. We ended up walking a mile. The night was so brisk and you could see all of the stars. V. nice!

On plan today. Yesterday got a little distracted with Easter candy. I resolve it will not happen again. I am getting excited for the nicer weather! I think it will be wonderful to be outside and getting healthier by moving around more.

Have a great afternoon all!

Mab, I find that planned cheats just don't work for me. I limit them to once or twice a year, usually when we're on vacation. Then I don't worry about my eating, but try not to go overboard, either.

Maybe I should rent a dog to walk! Don't want to take on the responsibility of a pet right now, but I wouldn't mind walking someone else's dog, either.

Have a great Tuesday!

Stupid Easter candy. lol We bought very little Easter candy for the kids this year. Those grandparents though were quite generous! I'm looking forward to it when it is all gone. It's really hard to keep around. One day when they are gone there won't be any aloud in my home. DH won't mind.

Mab - Glad you're still enjoying the puppy! hard to resist Easter candy when there's usually so much of it. Have a good rest of week!

It really is fun dog-sitting. I think of it like having grandchildren! Seriously! You get to have fun, spoil, visit and then send them home!
Nita, this way I get all of the fun of having a pet and v. little of the repsonsiblity! And the clean up! LOL!

It's funny sometimes, Mab--the stuff that I remembered as being "sooooo good" often tatses just so-so when I come back to try it again. And I feel sluggish and cloudy for the next 24 hours to boot.

Sounds like you've been having a blast with the dog-sitting! To me, dogs are fun like little kids are fun-as long as they're someone else's responsibility! My kitties are less maintenence.
