If you were eating carbs before, it could take 48 hours for keto strips to turn color. If they are showing ketones at any level, you are in ketosis. The strip doesn't have to turn the darkest color, and if it does, it's no indication that you will burn fat any faster. Ketosis is like pregnancy--you either are, or you aren't.

Weight loss is a process, and there's not a lot you can do to "hurry" it. Develop some strategies, instead, for focusing on small successes along the way and learn to think of your way of eating as a lifestyle.

Do you have something (a pair of jeans, for example) that's just a little too small? Make those your goal jeans (for now), and try them on once a week. When you can zip them and wear them out the front door, find another "a little too small" item to be the "goal jeans" and keep going.

Don't let yourself be discouraged by slow progress--hang out here and take heart from the success of some long-time low-carbers, and make the committment to being one of them. (I'm speaking to myself here, too.)

I drink a lot of water, so maybe that is why they are not turning color and I dont eat a lot of carbs....although I had Rum last nite to celebrate a Pagan Birthday....But I had it with Diet Coke, so that is no carbs....
Hmmmm.....patience. I keep telling myself I will be where I was before in about a year. I can deal with that....mostly...

Sometimes, no matter how you eat, the strips will not turn. They are just a tool; however, if they aren't turning purple, but you're eating right, you're losing, and your clothes are getting loose, then you are in ketosis, no matter what the strips say.Your body might just be efficient in burning the ketones and using them, and so you aren't throwing any off. Too many people get frustrated when they don't turn purple, and get upset. Don't!

Losing weight takes time, so have patience.

Blah! Well, Today I had some bacon, low carb spagetti ( a few forkfuls) with the morel/ground beef creamy tomato sauce, Salmon with a spoonful of the creamy shrimp, porcini and black trunpet sauce and some macademia nuts. I also had a bit of salad.
Blah....I also learned how to shoot a wrist shot (hockey), which really worked out my back and arms. I also did a pilates 30 minute workout!
