Hi Tom, Your wife has it right. I just kind of sit back and watch everything unfold and quietly chuckle while trying to keep my mouth shut (which by the way, is very hard to do).

Thanks for stopping by, have a good evening.

With my kids & their trials with their own kids, I rub it in! Ha Ha! I always told them it would come back to bite them one day. But I sure do love all the grandkids, warts & all.

Have a good Tuesday evening, Nicola.

Well like every good parent, I put the curse on them, You know the one "I hope you have just one exactly like yourself". So they know when they see that little chuckle what I'm thinking.

Today was a very very long day. And when I finally got off work I didn't come home, I went to look at new living room furniture. I've been eyeing it up for a while so I finally went and bought it. Ouch! But I with all the overtime worked this year I figure I can spend it anyway I want. Now I just have to wait another 10 days to get it, but it will take me that long to decide what I'm going to do with the old stuff. Now I'm off to try to get in some exercise.

Have a good evening Nita

Nicola, if the furniture is in good shape, you might donate it to Goodwill or the Salvation Army, or some other charity. If it's good enough, you might even consider selling it. If not, put it in front of your house and put a "free" sign on it. Someone will take it!

Hope you enjoy the new furniture!

I'll second Nita's comments on the furniture.
We don't even have to put signs on stuff in our neighborhood. If it is on the curb it is fair game. Rarely is there anything left standing when the trash collectors come by.
Have a wonderful week!

It is in good shape so I was thinking about putting it in my spare bedroom, I don't have any furniture in there, (I went on a rampage when I got divorce several years ago and threw everything out, I think I was just a little bit PO'd at that time). Anyway I don't know if I can get in through the door. I will have to wait until my BF gets over here to see if it will fit. I think it will but will be close. If if doesn't fit then I will donate it.

Thanks for the advice.

Yep Tom, your right about that. If I told you everything I just threw in the dumpster you would be amazed. Then I went on a spending spree.

I've seen it too many times. Not just from the woman either. Lot's of emotion involved in a relationship. When they crash there is even more, from BOTH sides. I've seen my mother rake my dad. My daughter rake her EX and I've had a near spilt with y lovely wife. It wasn't so prett at the time. These things cost everybod dearly.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Well Tom, I can honestly say that I didn't rake anyone. I paid dearly, had to buy him out in order to keep the house so I could be rid of him after he took up with someone my daughter's age. I only threw out everything in the house because I didn't want anything here that reminded me of him. Nothing like starting fresh. My only regret is not selling the house when the market was up and buying something else closer to work.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend also.

Good morning Nicola! How was your weekend?
I've been in my home for just over 30 years. Sadly, it is not paid off. We refinanced several years ago to pay bills. There were so many time that I should have sold my place. however, I didn't. I guess it just wasn't time.

Edit to fix name. Whoops.

Nicola, sometimes clearing out the "stuff" is cathartic. After all, it's only stuff, and if there are bad memories attached, get rid of it!

Hope you enjoy the new stuff, and that you always have good memories with it. And that your old furniture fits through the door of your spare bedroom. Might make a nice, cozy retreat in there, eh?

Nita, You are so right about that. Didn't want any memories at all. Getting rid of it made me feel like a new person.

Tom, I did have to refinace when I got divorced. It was the only way I could pay him off and still keep the house. Lucky for me my work has been good and I am able to keep ahead of the bills and save a little. I don't think I will be selling any time soon. Who know when this market is going to recover. And I'll probably be dead before the place is paid off. So I just live for the day.
