Chistmas was good, and I made it through the day without a whole lot of damage. Although I did eat good I didn't overindulge. That's a first for me.

I didn't ask for much this year, couldn't think of anything I needed that I haven't already bought, but I got some new gorgeous long gold earrings (that's the one thing I asked for) and BF jumped right on that suggestion. And gift cards to my favorite resturant and more. Might have to go there this weekend, I'm hungry just thinking about it. BF and I decided that next year we are going to make a list by the first of Nov so the kids and us have something to shop for. I know how frustrating it is to want to get somebody something and not have a clue what to buy.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day, I am now off to the .

Sounds Great!
I know what you mean about "what to get, what to get?" We ended up yet again picking up gift cards for my grandkids. They are teens. In addition we will take them each out for an evening to spend them. They loved that when they were younger for Birthdays.
Have a wonderful Weekend with those you love.

What a day. I had to have someone out to look at my AC...bad news...for me, compressor said bye bye. Oh well I guess it's only money, but I hate it when I have to dig into my savings. I was hoping for a few more months before I had to address this issue. But at least it happened while I was off and therefore I don't have to take a day off work in order for them to install the new one. I knew there was a bright side.....just took me a while to see it. One thing is for sure, and that's you don't want to live here in Florida with out a working AC. So I will quit crying now, get over it and go do something constructive.

Well, at least your ac went out in the not-so-terribly-hot winter months. Could have been smack in the middle of July. I'll bet it's cheaper now, too, when demand is somewhat lower.

BTW, found out my dh didn't pick up rum, it was tequila. Not a big tequila fan, either. So, he said he'd stop tonight and get me some rum. (He saw the bottle next to the rum & just figured it was rum, too.) Tequila and cola is ok, but not great. Didn't look at the bottle until after I had the drink poured. And I wasn't going to throw out a perfectly good glass of cola! LOL!

Yes it is good that it went out in the winter months, just wish I could have gotten a few more estimates, I probably could have gotten it cheaper but beings I go back to work on Friday I needed to get put in so I didn't have to start the new year taking time off. It didn't help that I had company coming so I had to schedule things around that also. But it's in, it works and thats what's important.

Don't think I could handle the tequila, used to love it but I guess with age I just grew out of it and the taste with it.

Have a good day!

Nicola, we have 2 ac companies in our little town, but we use one in particular when we have ac/furnace problems. In a little town, you usually don't have a lot of choices, but I'm thankful that neither company is out to gouge his customers, and both are pretty trustworthy.

The newer ac units are more energy efficient, too, so you might see a drop in your electric bills.

Have a good day yourself!

I was going to wait until Monday to start back on induction, but after getting on the scales this morning, no way, will start tomorrow morning. Don't think I can let myself have another weekend of endulging. So back to basics and back to work. I have a lot to do around here this weekend, so I should stay busy enough not to think much about food. At least all the Christmas goodies are gone, not a trace of them anywhere.

I know what you mean. I got on the scale yesterday morning. YIKES! For me it is a matter of getting my Arse in motion. Increase my activity. Back to the gym, etc. Dam I sound like one of those New Years resolution people. d'oh.

Have a wonderful and prosperous 2009.

Tom, I think the holidays are just so hard when we are trying to lose weight. It was a double wam bang for me. Between Thanksgiving and New Years I gained 10 lbs. I've been trying not to get on the scales, no more I will be hopping on at least 2 times a week. I gave up my gym membeship last year, but I seemed to only use the treadmill when I went. So I just went and bought one. It was just so crowed there and never anyplace to park. But I do have plenty stuff here at home to get me going again. And after seeing the weight gain, I have plenty of motivation.

So far the re-induction phase is going well. Haven't cheated, Everytime I think about it I just say . So far I'm down 3 lbs, don't care if it's just water, take it anyway I can get it.

Have a good day!

Thanks Tom,

You are so right too. The power of positive thinking can do amazing things. I hope to keep it with me throughout this year.
Today was a pretty good day. I got on my not once but twice today.
This morning and then again after dinner. Need to keep this body moving while I have the energy. I got a lot done this weekend. Even sewed up some new curtains for my living room and kitchen. Now I just need to get some painting done. It's and endless battle.

Nicola, happy induction!

Doing your exercising at home is so much nicer, you can do it when you want to, and you don't have to worry about everyone else's germs all over the place!
