I like the social aspect of going to the gym. Also it is an escape from the family pulling away to do other stuff.
I loved it at my gym when they had all the stairmasters lined up facing the window to the aerobics room. Seems like I could stand there for a much longer time.

I used to really like the gym, but just got so overcrowded. And kinda like yours, they use to have the treadmills all facing the aroebics room and I could stay on them for a long time, then they moved them all into one room and can't see anything from in there. Felt like a red headed step child. I don't have anyone to bother me here at home (except my little min pin). He likes to lay on my stomach when I am doing my ab workouts, but he's afraid of the treadmill so he stays away from that.

We attempted to get Liz's little terrier to run with us on the treadmill... After smacking the wall a few times, he wouldn't get near it.

They should have treadmills facing a tv screen showing travel pictures, scenic stuff, like you're running down a shady lane, or along a beach. You ought to be able to program what "route" you want to take, and that's what you see, complete with the sound of wind blowing, or the surf, etc. Then it wouldn't be so bad going to the gym, I suppose.

Nicola, have a good Tuesday.

Nita, you know they do have them facing the tv screens, but you can't hear anything for the noise, and loud music coming from the other room. But yeah you're idea would be pretty good.

Tom, my little guy did get up on it the other day, but when I got on and started it up, he ran the other way. I think he forgot that that belt moved. Looked like he was going to make a bed there until I climbed on.

Well I had another good day. No cheats yet. I'm down 4 lbs since the 1st. Maybe if I stay strong I will see a couple more by the end of the week.

Nita, Tom, have a great evening!

Yes, It always feels good when you lose a few. May even help encourage me do some more exercise. I hope to get moving on the teadmill again tonight. I did get a lot of walking done today. My new boss has me running all over the place. That won't happen too much, not if he expects me to get any actual work done.

Thanks so much for the encouragement.

There are days when I wish my job involved more walking. Once in awhile I have to walk to the far end of the building to open up the computer cabinets and turn on a computer for a resident, or to go to the back office and talk to the other manager, but some days it's just me and my desk. Now, on days when we have a lot of residents paying rent, I'm up and down all day long. Not a lot of walking, but a lot of sitting & standing, up and down! I guess that's good on the knees!

Have a good Thursday!

Nita, I wish I could just sit at my desk, just not happening anytime soon. I think that new boss of mine is going to drive me nuts. The girls are taking bets on which one of us is going to go first. One said to me today, he wants you to stay put and get your work done, but he has you up running all over the place. Poor guy, wants to change everything right now, doesn't want to listen, so I say lets do everything his way, when he hits a brick wall he will understand what we've been trying to tell him. Just can't change a department of 39 people overnight and expect to come out on top.

It's definatley the tonight. Haven't ate that much today but I feel like a stuffed . Must be holding in that water. Oh well gotta come out sometime!

Nita, Tom have a good evening!

Nicola, it sounds like you are just experiencing "transition" There are phases that a group or even a person goes thru when change is implemented. The key to a smooth transition is good communications. The leadership on my organization gets a D- on communications. That causes so much heartburn for us in front-line supervision to work with.

It's a transtion all right. Actually I like my new boss, he's just a little hyper. I think he likes commotion. He's kinda loud and domineering person in a joking way. It's kinda hard to explain. But he's OK because he lets you speak your mind, even if he doesn't like what he hears. I am actually for the changes they are making, they just need a little more planning before they impliment things. As far as communications go, I'll say that they talk a good game, but have no listening skills. Mostly they get the floor in an uproar and then walk back into their offices for another closed door meeting.

Ha Ha. Yeah Communication has to be Bi-directional. If not then it is expounding.

We don't have any problem understanding each other here. Well, the occasional miscommunication, but on the whole, I think we can pretty much read each others' minds, we've worked together for so many years! I just have a difficult time communicating with tenants and applicants. I have to simplify complicated Federal regulations so these people can understand. And we have a lot of people who can't understand no matter how simple I try to make it. Frustrating. So, we just keep going over and over it. Yes, we all have issues on the job.

Since it's Friday, I'm going to wish you a good weekend.
