Nita, people are hard headed, I can explain something a dozen times, and go back to check on someone only to find that they understood nothing. I just take a deep breath and explain again. But that's OK everyone's different and that makes the day go by without being so boring. But my boss, he needs some Xanax, Valium or something. I sure hope he's not that hyper at home, he will drive his poor wife nuts.

Nicola, A little tip, don't explain again. Explain differently. For some it just takes a different set of phrases or words for it to get in. I find that Liz and I are sometimes on a different plane and we never do link up until one of us changes how we are communicating.

Tom, you are right about that, what we understand and think is very simple, is very different to someone else. Alot of times I just sit down and actually show them how to do what ever it was and they are delighted and don't have any more problems.

Went to Publix this morning and found Atkins shakes buy 1 get 1 free. Good deal, I love the mocha latte, so it was time to stock up.

Today is work around this house day. First I'm off to wash the car, then out to the garage. Need to start pitching stuff I don't need and put other stuff out in the shed. I think I am going to make a new room out of part of the garage, it's so long I can do that and still keep the back half for the car, just need to get things organized and then drop the ceiling and build a wall and then decide what to do with the floor. I already have a extra bathroom out there, just think I could utilize some more space, beings the main house is so small. And with that it would also increase the value of the house. The new boss put us back on overtime, so I will have some extra cash to help pay for it.

Off an running.......

It's nice to get some "found" space in the house! Our garage was so narrow that a car would go in, but you couldn't get out of the car! And the house was new when we bought it. So, for years it was a workshop, then we cut it in half and made the back half a store room. Now it's an office and a storeroom. We park the car under a carport. Ended up having to build a workshop for dh so he'd have a place for all his tools! If we ever sell this place, it'll be the workshop that clinches the sale.

Hope you got a lot of stuff done. Nothing like tossing stuff to make you feel liberated!

Nita, I keep asking myself if I really need to have a garage, I'd like to make the whole think into a huge family room, but you know I don't have a carport and these darn oak trees leave sap all over the place along with the green crap they drop, so yes I really do need a garage. So I will settle for giving up half.

I did get the car washed and some stuff into the trash can, but I still have a ways to go. I decided to scrub floors and get the rest of my laundry done, seems like I always just have too much to do. Do we ever get to just relax?????

We have a very small house. Only about 1100sq ft. I've had to turn the single car garage into 1/2 lundry room and 1/2 workshop for me. I also have 1 14x20 steel storage shed and another 10x20 storage shed. Dam, I got too much stuff.
The name of the game for me this year is SIMPLIFY. I got to clear out some stuff. I foresee numerous trips to the dump. I'm sure you'll figure out what works for your situation.

Tom, your house may be small but mine is even smaller, Its only about 720 sq ft living space, excluding the garage, I think the garage is about 500 sq ft. I only have 2 bedrooms, often thought of turning it into a one bedroom but I decided against that. Except for the bath tub in the bathroom the whole house has been gutted and remodled since I moved in, it's cozy and nice, just small. I was going to sell and move in with my BF but then the market took such a dive that I decided to stay here at least until the market gets better. Anyway my options are limited without adding on, and that cost too much for my budget. I do have a loft in the garage to store stuff in and 2 storage sheds. But if I want anymore floor space then my garage is going have to get smaller.

If you are like most men you have tools and tools and more tools stored everywhere. My BF has so much stuff its unbelievable, I keep telling him that when he dies it's going to take his kids 2 years to sort through it. Ha! Ha!

Have a nice evening!

We can't make our house any bigger right now, either, so when we put in our new floors and had to take a lot of stuff out, a lot of it did not make it back into the house. Between a yard sale and the landfill, we got rid a lot of the clutter. And could still get rid of more! But with less stuff, the house seems a bit larger, and it's easier to keep clean without having to work around stuff.

Nicola, I'm with you about getting time to relax. If we sit down for a spell, then we look around and make mental notes of what we have to do, so we don't really relax, we just get antsy knowing we have more waiting for us. Wish I had a maid!

Nita, Hopefully that relax time will come soon. My new boss doesn't like working Saturdays, so for now he's letting us do all our overtime during the week. So maybe after a couple more weekends off I will be caught up on the stuff I need to get done here. Hopefully! Wish I had a maid too, but they sure don't work for free.

Tonight is leftover roast beef with mash califlower. Don't feel like cooking so just can pop this in the micro. It's suppose to chill out here the next few days, low 60's and 30's at night. (you know I'm loving every minute of it) I'd prefer mid 50's but can't get choosey when you live in Florida.

The best thing we did to gain room and keep things clean was to get my 23 year old son out of the house. Still have lots to clean. However, it stays clean after we do. Go figure.
I'll see if Liz is interested in cooking up some of the spaghettii squash we bought. Mmmm.
Have great night.

I hear you there Tom, when my kids left home, my house was so easy to clean, (of course I had a much bigger place then) I will also say that the same thing happened when I got divorced. Must have been all those tools that dissapeared!

I got up this morning and weighed in, yes I had to look twice, down another lb.

It's cool here this morning. Actually I am waiting for it to warm up just a tad so I can get to the garage and get going on the. Haven't been on it all week, just too much time on the couch. But at least I was down another lb so I don't feel too bad about it. But today I will catch up. I think I am going to enjoy having the weekends off. It's been so long since I have time to do anything, don't know where to start really. I've already been to Walmart this morning, got back about 2 hours ago. Now I am drinking my coffee and catching up, waiting for Publix to open so I can get my grocery shopping done. My little is so happy that his mama is home today. I think he got off schedule when I was off work for over the holiday shutdown. Lately he's been pacing the floor and just insists he is going with me in the mornings when I leave for work. Now for years he has been use to my schedule, but just the past couple of weeks he's been like this. The other day I carried him back to the house 5 times before he would stay. Hope he is back on track soon, poor little guy makes me feel bad for leaving him.
