Has the place you work for gone through the lean and 5S saftely thing? They come around to all our desk and offices and go through everything, don't want paper work around, just want your desk to look like no one works there! Hello...I do work there.....but I keep throwing things away, that I know I will need, and when I need it I can go on line and spend an hour trying to figure out where they put it, they don't make anything easy anymore. Go figure....

This is more of an industrial environment. Public Utility. They hired ex-OSHA people for safety.

I'm back into my home office. The room is getting smaller and smaller as I bring stuff in. We had Home Depot out Saturday to look at the paint that isn't drying. Behr Lifetime warranty. They may end up buying me new molding and a door assembly. Nearly a week and stick tacky.

We got lots done this weekend. TJ & Liz have been a great help. I gave Liz the top 2 shelves of my printer desk for plants. I like it too.

I was a baaaad Tommy yesterday for breakfast. I had stuffed French Toast. OMG that was sinful.
I kept very busy. I hope I burned off some of those calories.
We washed 2 cars and my truck. That thing is so big it took 3 beach towels to dry it.

So far good eating today. BF was protein powder/flaxmeal ceareal & L was salmon w/ mao & cheese stick.

Tom, I work in an industrial enviorment too, for a well know Defense Contractor, I work on the production flloor but I also work fairly close with a lot of the management team. So I see both sides of everything. Somtimes I wish I could just do my job and not deal with any of it!

I'm considered "front-line" management.
It's been a busy week. TJ & Liz got a bunch of clean-up done around the house/yards. I did a small amount of sorting thru stuff.
We did some maintenance on our bikes to prepare for a ride tomorrow morning. The weather has been outstanding this week. The temps have been cool for this time of year. I took Liz out for a bike ride last night to get some pics of my Big Orange in front of some historical landmarks for a game of Tag I'm involved with on my bike forum.
Eating has been on an even keel. Some good and some bad Carbs.
At least my activity level has increased.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Tom, Glad the weather is holding up for you. It's been a off and on rain affair here. But should be better by Monday, just in time to go back to work. Have a great weekend! Enjoy that bike ride.

Had a great weekend. Beautiful weather. Got some fun riding in with my friends.

I made some poor eating choices this weekend.
Failure is not an option.
This is a new week.
Should prove to be quite interesting. I have 2 employees that are at each others throats again. Tomorrow will be a meeting with them and an HR rep to referee.
It would serve them very well if each would learn to accept the other including faults and strengths.

Made it thru the employee meeting very well. I was in the perfect frame of mind for it. Between the HR rep and myself, we got them to recognize that each brings something helpful to the table. It's a start.

I was beat when I got home. Did some more organizzing of the boxes of stuff in the front room. Slowly going thru it and keeping what I want and disposing of some.
It is time for us to "simplify" around here. Need to make room. I was never raised to eliminate something before bringing in something else. Hence, I'm a packrat. Liz is too. That makes for quite a bit of accumulation. I get into moods of clearing out stuff. Then we have a big increase in free space. That is until we fill it in.
Liz made a wonderful pork roast in the Ronco last night.
I saw this interesting UV oven on an info-mercial the other night. Had to turn off the channel. It was really sparking an interest.

Seems to be a lot of that going around at my workplace too. Why can't everyone just get along???? I guess that is just to much to ask.

Lot's of activity for me. We emptied out out our Storage garage. Still going thru all the 27 year of collecting junk. We made 1 trip to the dump on Saturday.
We took off on Sunday for a road trip. It was our 27th Anniversary. Nice relaxing trip over the mountains to a small town. Work has been quiet since dealing with the 2 problem kids.
1 seems to have gotten something out of the intervention. The other... well he is just a lost cause.
Eating has been horrible lately. We've been using up some of our freezer stock. Not all LC.
I bought a file cabinet for my home office. Now to get all my papers filed.
I finally installed my all-in-one printer that I've had for 3 years NEW UNOPENED. Since we use Vonage for phone service the FAX will have to be controlled manually.

Well, back to work.
See ya!

Hey Nicola!
I wish I could post up how well my LC eating has been. Far from it. I'm paying the price for those choices.
The last several weeks I've been focused on cleaning up the clutter around the house. We've made several trips to the dump. Great progress there.
We started 4-10 workweek today. I slept wrong last night and with the extra spare tire, my back is killing me today. More signals for me to get back on-track.
We are headed to SoCal for the holiday weekend. I'm bringing one of my bikes with me and taking a ride with a friend on Saturday morning. I beter limber up for the few days I've got before then.

Hi Tom, I think it's been a so-so couple of weeks....like you said we sometimes make bad choices....I expect to make a few while in Daytona this week...will have to pay the price for now..will concentrate on getting back on track when we get back. Enjoy the holiday in SoCal. I wish they would let us work 4 10's, think I could get use to that in a hurry.

Hey Tom, just bopped in to say hello. I've been having lots of problems accessing peoples' journal pages and for some fluky reason, I was finally able to get in here. So, HI!

How are things going?

I have successfully undone pretty much ALL my LC achievements. I have noticed my size increase steadily since my knee replacements. It has all been my choice.

I'm taking a different approach to my LC lifestyle this time. More even and long term.

My first run up thru LC was extremely successful on the physical side. However it took a great toll on my personal life. I was fanatical about LC and exercise. This caused me to push my views on those close to me, building walls. It also caused me to overdo my workouts to the point of wearing out my knees sooner than expected.

The last few years I pretty much threw LC & exercise to the side. I focused on my personal side. Including How I look at the world around me.
There are many good things that have come out of this last few years. My relationship with my wife and family is the best ever. I am at peace with my postion in life and how I function. I am not broke. Nothing to fix.

I'm now starting a whole new way of living my life. One that includes LC in a way that I can live with and sustain for the long term. At my age, long term means til I die. I wish for that be a long long time.

I plan to keep this very helpful community a part of my life in the future. The wonderful people here have been thru thick and thin with me over the years. For that I thank you all.

The hard facts-
This weekend we bought me new pants. These were at the size I was back when I first started LC. Strike One!
I got on the scale this morning- 268 pounds!

This important for me to shout out. There is no hiding from it. "To thine own self be true." I've been avoiding the scale for a long time. Strike Two!

I was already planning on starting my gym workouts today. Last night I packed up my gym bags. Interesting, They still had my winter stuff from the last time I went. That was quite some time ago. I think it has been over 1 year since my last workout. (Sounded like confession)

There will NOT be a Strike Three.
