HI Suzy,
Wow, I hope you can take some time to go to the fair and church this weekend.
No, not hope - just do it.
You need time with your family at the fair and you need the spiritual uplift you get from church.
Will it ever get slower for you at work??
sending hugs and prayers

We ended the day yesterday with one of those MELT downs children have sometimes. Me too, I am ashamed to say. Started up again this morning. We are just going to take some time off and do quiet things tonight and start over again tomorrow. My son is so much like me in temprament it's scary, and we blow up at each other like my dad and my grandfather did. I told him I was sorry I let myself get mad at him, and that i was raised that way, to get mad, shout it out, and then cry and say sorry. We both decided to work on it together, lol. Bologna for breakfast, and I ate a slice of bread with it. Not sure why, but my stomach didn't feel too good and I couldn't face that slice of bologna without something else with it. At the time, it seemed better than skipping breakfast.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Off to the dollar store to buy more stuff for my classroom, if i had invested all the money I've spent in 20 years I think we could buy the ranch and retire, lol. Oh, well, I did invest it in some little people who will do a lot in their world, or so I hope.

Hey Yall, Im baaaaaaack!
Happy to relate that I lost 10 pounds by this morning. I hadn't weighed in a week or two, but this morning I forced myself to check in. Hoooray! That really helped my resolve today, I'll tell you. I would like to try and lose another 10 by Thanksgiving. Unfortunately my son and I had a really hard time getting to sleep last night, so I was late, grouchy and unprepared this morning. I just ate a hunk of cheese I grabbed on the way out the door for breakfast and lunch. Not the way to low carb for SURE!!!

My son spent Saturday with his grandmother, and I got left at home. Even the dog went somewhere, lol. I am astonished to relate that I slept till after 12:00, when coughing woke me up at last. I guess I needed it. I lolled around and read a book about goat dairy production till time to go rehearse at church at 3:00. They boys thought I needed my sleep, and I guess I did. Was still really pretty worn down from flu and the week after.

Yesterday we went on a "road trip", to the mountains, for an apple festival. Lots of crafts but almost no apples. They have split the orchards up into tiny cabin sized parcels for vacation homes, so they actually had to buy apples from Arizona apple farms for the festival. Now that was depressing! After that we went to look at a small farm and pecan orchard for sale. It was nice, in the village of Tularosa-- but too small for our goats. And on the busiest highway around-- the one to the tourist area/casino/reservation/and race track. I am trying to get out of town, not on an even busier street. It was a pretty house and had a pool. I bet the dogs would love that! Somehow I think we'll end up wading in the dirt tank for the stock instead, lol.

Anyway I am feeling better and lowcarbing away.
Hope everyone is well!

School is much better with only 20 kids, but it feels like we started the year all over again. Everyone has been sick and there were no substitutes available, so its been a bit odd. I sent 3-4 kids a day home with fever or throwing up for the past 3 weeks. THat wasnt fun and i worry about themn, especially with the h1n1 flu around. there have been a couple of children who died in the state. That really bothers me.
I was out friday for jury duty and got excused after I took the day off to go, lol. Came home and slept all day again. Still not my perky self. but better.
I went to the sleep clinic and was childishly dissappointed that no one mentioned my weight loss, but there was a resident so he had lots of other questions. We sang at a little church last night, that was really fun, they are always so positive and so excited when the band shows up out there, but I found out that a friend had passed away since we were last out there. I know he's in heaven, but it was a shock and all our songs seemed to make me think of him.
Off to get ready for the week,

Happy Halloween. Yep, I still call it that even though our church has a FALL FESTIVAL. It seems like we celebrated halloween ok back when a lot more people went to church.... I did NOT low carb successfully at the Fall party, even though I have survived several kids birthday parties without a cupcake. I ate a cupcake with about a pound of gross icing piled on top, and believe me it was gross, and had black and green and oragne food coloring to boot. Then I ate a popcorn ball. Now I have a migraine. WELL DUH!!! My husband says encouraging things like "If something I ate made me as sick as sugar and carbs do you I think I would stop eating it even if I really loved it". Well duh again, but he's right.
(This from the man who can eat an entire package of gross cheapo caramels in one sitting!)
He probably could just stop. I have too, but once in a while I forget just how bad they make me feel and I give in to an emotional eating moment. Set myself up too, because i got up too late to cook a good breakfast, and left my lunch on the counter. By the time the cupcakes got here I might have considered eating a kid. Lol, well it would have been high protien anyway... I am going to lose ten more pounds before Thanksgiving if I have to live on beef jerky!!!
I think the migraine will help me avoid halloween candy, lol. Just looking at the package makes my head hurt worse. My son is swooping around the house practicing his bat moves for the big day. He makes a very cute bat. Thank goodness Grandma will sew his costumes!!!
Love ya all!

Hey yall,
I can NOT complain, because my family didnt get the flu, just me. It is absolutely beautiful outside (high 70's and SUNNY), and I actually remembered to bring my (low carb) lunch.

That said, I am really struggling with depression and Chronic fatigue this time, sometimes the time change does this to me, and the shorter days, but i try to go outside and get sunshine while I can. Usually it is part of fibro flare up and or body chemistry out of balance. I have withdrawn from everybody, online and in real life, and really just want to sleep till spring comes. That's pretty silly considering it is as hot outside as some places get in summer, and it is heartbreakingly beautiful outdoors. Don't know what my problem is, but i am fighting.

I looked at my chin (s?) this morning and couldn't decide if the lumpiness was a sign of A. GASP gaining weight, too chicken to look
B. (Gasp retaining water) C. Gasp being nearly 50 and having old turkey neck from years in the sun or D (Oh LORD please let it be true) that i am on the verge of losing some more weight. i always get bumpy lumpy and funny looking when I am going to lose a bunch, the water is gone and then the fat breaks down. My arms are smooth till i start to lose weight then suddenly I am the poster child for cellulite, lol, then THANK YOU LORD they shrink down and tighten up a bit. I don't think they will be able to do that forever, lol.

I never realized i was so vain, HELLO, I have an old graying hippie pony tail or braid below my butt, I never wear makeup on a bet, and mostly i look like I shop at thrift stores, (well, duh, I do when my DH isn't looking). I wear flip flops or birkenstocks all year long when I am not in my cowboy boots, I have clothes that are older than the parents in my classroom, ha ha. I already look like a goat farmer, but not quite as chic as most of them. So I don't know when I got so vain, but the turkey neck bugged me this morning. I will weigh tomorrow morning and tell you the awful or awe inspiring news. Surely that one peice of Halloween candy (a mini hersheys) and a 70 calorie no added sugar tapioca pudding couldn't make me gain THAT much, sigh.

Oh well, I have GOT to go, I hear kids in the hall, and I am having to redo my walls and closet because the new firemarshal is just out of firemarshall school and wrote me up for all the things his predecessor just smiled at. Sigh,
Off to teach MATH and test kindergarteners all afternoon. I seem to test more than I teach.

ANYWAY, stay tuned for the next breathless episode of "as the wattle wiggles" as our Heroine OONAGH battles bulge and turkey neck and the exciting mood swings of "THE CHANGE", (Lol wish we were at the PAUSE part!)

Thanks for dropping in and for CARING. You are always very encouraging.
