Hi Sandi, Yes, I am following a plan. I follow Atkins. The fat fast is recommended for those not losing weight on Induction. I feel like I'm eating enough bt perhaps I have not been watching calories but will need to soon when I go on the fat fast.

    Today I ate:
    B - boiled egg
L - Chinese cart - broccoli and chicken soup
    L - eggplant lasagna
    Snack - handful of almonds

Hi Sandi, I finished Induction weeks ago. Now on OWL.

Chinese cart is a vendor with food that is sold on from a cart on the street.

It just hit me P.i.P. and it has been staring me in the face the whole time. It's the MSG in the chinese cart food you are eating that could be preventing you from losing. Many people are extremely sensitive and even allergic to MSG and it can cause you to retain water and weight. Unless of course they say they don't use MSG in their dishes, then you need to find a food alternative. Hate to say it but you have been eating from chinese cart a lot.

Sandi, I think you've got something there with the MSG. I am sure they use it at the Chinese cart 'cause the food tastes simply too good!!I have been eating there often as I haven't taken my lunch to work some days. I will be taking my lunch next week for sure.

    Today I ate:
B -a handful of almonds. Left the house early to take my mom to get a manicure and her eyebrows waxed. Treated myself as well. Didn't get the pedi though as I had to get back home to finish up lots of homework that is due early next week.

L - a hamburger with cheese. it was good but not as good as the last one I had from the grill at my brother's over the labor day holiday. No bread!

Snack - grapes... I don't know why I bought them but they just looked so good in the store when I went to take my mom to pick up a few things from the Pathmark. Ate about 35-40 carbs worth. Not the worse thing I could have eaten. And boy were they good!! I was supposed to be doing the Atkins fat fast but can't seem to get in gear for it. Pehaps I can start it on Monday or at least do a modified version of it with just fat, veggies, chicken or fish.

On the fat fast you are supposed to do no more than 1000 calories a day with 90 percent coming from fat. Atkins suggested you eat five(5) - 200 calorie small meals a day. Very restrictive but it works for metabolically challenged folks like me. I am going to try my best to do some form of it again next week.

D - pork rinds.Wasn't too hungry 'cause the hamburger I had earlier, and the grapes, were pretty filling

I weighed myself today and am finally broke the 150lb mark!!! I'm 149 lbs and I'm very pleased about the turn of events but can't believe it took me a whole month to lose 1 pound!!! . I guess perhaps the grapes didn't do me in too bad or at least they haven't registered on the scale yet. :-)

Today, I cooked up a lot of stuff to take for lunch. I am glad I prepared this food in advance so I won't be eating at the Chinese cart next week. I cooked grilled chicken, fried chicken (no flour) with hot sauce for a kind of boneless spicy (like hot wings) chicken with blue cheese and I sauted a pund of shrimp. I plan to put all of these over salad for lunch and maybe eat some of the proteins/shrimp with a veggie for dinner. I also cooked cabbage and asparagus and eggplant sauted in garlic and olive oil. And I got all of my homework done to boot!!

    Today I ate:

B - pork rinds and almonds (got up late and didn't feel like cooking any breakfast)
L - pork rinds and almonds (was busy dong homework and didn't want to stop)
D - Finally cooked up all the food mentioned above and ate spicy fried chicken over salad with blue cheeese dressing. It was dee-lish!!

Packed lunch for tomorrow and I am good to go except I don't know what I'm wearing yet so I better go and figure it out.

    Thanks Sandi!

    Today I ate:

    B - 1 boiled egg
L - Fried spicy chicken salad with blue cheese over romaine lettuce and cherry tomotoes
D - a bowl of cabbage. I think my body is craving the veggies 'cause that is all I was craving tonight.

Tomorrow...off to meet with the personal trainer. I think I'm ready...
