Auntie, you are doing great! I can't wait to get to that point. I am still trying to fight the temptation of carbs, but it's really hard to shake. Good luck with meeting your trainer tomorrow!

P.i.P. glad my MSG thought made sense. Your idea to plan and cook for the week ahead is a great way to keep yourself on track. I need to do more of that myself. I know how easy it is to get lazy. And when I get lazy I tend to eat the same things over and over which gets boring, which leads to cheating or grabbing whatever is handy.

Congrats on breaking through that 150 number.

Yesterday was too busy and tired to post.

Went to the personal trainer for the first time on Tuesday and according to him, I am not as out of shape as I thought I was. He put e through a series of exercises designed to assess my level of physicality.

I passed every "test" except the squats...my right knee hurt every time I squatted so I could not do too many. I go back on Thursday. On the days I don't go he recommended I walk so today I walked on my lunch hour.

Yesterday I ate:

B - nothing. Got too busy at work very early in the day and didn't get to eat my boiled egg.
L - salad with grilled shrimp from home with Caesar dressing
D - a kielbasa with sauerkraut and onions
Snack - almonds ( I think I ate too many...)

Today I ate:

B - boiled egg & tablespoon of cream cheese with Splenda
L - walked and got back too late to eat my salad I brought from home
S - ate a peach on the way home
D - the Chicken salad I made for lunch
S - 1/2 a bag of pork rinds

I'm out of salad. (went through 2 bags already this week) so I don't know what I'll take for lunch tomorrow. I still have protein (chicken and shrimp) left so I could buy a plain salad tomorrow and add that to it. I just have to stay away from the Chinese cart on my way to buy the salad. On second thought, I may just have the protein with some cheese, of which I have plenty, and call it a day.

I weighed myself today and was still at 149 lbs. I'm cool with that...for now. :-)

I'm glad to have finally spoken to my niece. She is hanging in there.

I didn't get to post Friday or yesterday and have no business being up this late but just got in a little while ago and thought if I don't post now then I probably won't post tomorrow.

Friday I ate:

B - nothing
L - grilled chicken I bought from home with steamed broccoli I bought from the Chinese cart. NO gravy and and NO rice. Just broccoli.that I got with no MSG.
D - Same as lunch

Saturday:

Finally something different from the on-campus dining hall for Breakfast where I ate an egg white omelet with mushrooms and cheese with 2 turkey sausages

Lunch - Ate the tuna out of a roll from a boxed lunch given to us in a seminar I had to attend.
Snack - some pork rinds and water
Dinner - I had a salad with vinaigrette and chicken strips (w/light breading - only ate 2) then I was bad....I went over to my friend's house and his daughter wanted to make s'mores and he wanted me to make him some Banana's Foster that I used to cook for him.

I didn't eat any of the Banana's Foster. I make the dish well. (it is very easy to make) but I don't like bananas so it was very easy to pass it up. BUT , I did have 2 S'more his daughter made. (2 graham crackers with 1 Hershey's mini chocolate bar (broken in two) with 1 big marshmallow that I cut in half. From all the lables I read for each ingrdient, I claulated I ate around 50-60 carbs.

I am not feeling guilty for eating the S'mores nor am I beating myself up. They didn't make me want more carbs and in fact they were sickening sweet. I am up with a tummy ache afterwards and have no intentions of cheating again with this sweet. It just sounded so good when she brought them up and I thought "Wow", I hadn't had them in years....well, years can go by once more before I ever eat them again.

I put a chicken in the oven for tomorrow since I am up late and plan to debone it and make chicken salad for lunch next week and eat some of the chicken for dinner tomorrow. I don't think I'll ever get tired of eating chicken...I simply love chicken!!! I did go to the grocery store today and bought:
Salmon
Catfish
Shrimp
Pork Loin
Whole Perdue roasting chicken
Turkey Kielbasa
Cabbage
String Beans
Portobello Mushrooms
Romaine lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
Pork Rinds
All for $50.98. The seafood was on sale so I couldn't pass them up. I think I am all set for next week...and beyond. :-)

Weigh in day and I am down another pound... I feel good about that!! Now down to 148!!! Took approximately a month and a week to lose 2 pounds. Dang, that is slow but I'm going to stick with it. Lost 6 pounds on the first 2 weeks of Induction and I keep trying to do a Fat Fast but don't quite hit the mark each week. Maybe I'll try again to start the Fat Fast at the beginning of October.

If I now can keep losing a pound a week I could be down around 8 pounds by my vacation in early December and possibly down to goal weight (135) by the first of the new year in 2010.

I started (for the second time) at 156 lbs on August 19th of this year so I am down 8 lbs so far today with 13 pounds to go...slow, but definitely making progress. (Down 28 lbs from my original high of 176 back in 2004. By 2005 Had lost a total of 40 lbs on Atkins and got down to 136 lbs.) Gained 20 lbs back while being on steroids for a major illness in 2006 & 7)

Steroid weight comes off verrrrrrrrrry slowly. Just glad I am off of them (Thank you LORD!!!, and pray I never have to take them again!!!

156/148/135 (5'4")

Hey Sandi,
I add Splenda to kind of make it seem like I'm eating a bite of cheese cake. I also sometimes put a squirt of lemon it in too. :-)

Haven't posted since Monday. Tuesday did my workout with the personal trainer and zonked out early. Wednesday went car shopping....bad day. No luck finding what I want. Today met with PT again and stopped on the way home to give my mom a blood pressure machine and then to the pet store for food for my betta. Then, came home and cooked up cabbage and broccoli to put in the freezer before they spoiled.

In the last 3 days I have been good.

Breakfastwas the usual boiled egg but I think I ate 2 one day. Lunch was the usual salad with protein. Chicken twice and once steak. Dinner varied. Last night roast beef, night before was homemade soup (beans and chicken) as was the previous night. No snacks but did have a light beer on Wednesday.

The trainer says I am doing good. He is working my tail!!! But, I like it. I sleep better and have more energy. Have picked up my walking on days not at the trainers. He says that I can't get hung up on the scale these days because since he has me lifting weights, the scale could actually go up since muscle weighs more than fat. I am cool with that . Can't say I see any difference in my body shape yet after just two weeks of working out but I am going to stick with it.

Haven't seen my niece posting on the site and hope she didn't give up but if she did, hopefully she'll come back one day as she knows from prior experience with LC that it works for her if she sticks with it.

I am now going to pin my car buying hopes on the end of October when the sales associates are more desperate unless I come across a deal I just can't pass up before then.

Gotta go check all the e-mails I've missed in the last few days. G'night!!!
